Baumann's Fine Meats

I always pick the smoked wings from Baumann’s before a party because they’re the best wings in town. Recently, I asked if they season and prepare kabobs. Tom put these gems together for us in a couple hours. Yes, they were even better than they look!

First time stopping at Baumann’s even though we’ve lived in the area for Years. We decided to stop in on a lazy Saturday Afternoon. The warm welcome by the staff as we entered was a delightful surprise! We mentioned we had never been and the folks behind the counter were genuinely happy to answer any questions and show us around. They even offered hot samples of their famous smoked wings (Amazing! Giant wings-dry rub, slightly spicy but not hot) We couldn’t resist the beef jerky. Run don’t walk to get this jerky. It’s thick, tender, and tastes like a well seasoned steak. We picked up some pickles from a local business while there and some chicken gumbo from the case. Just with that impulsive stop, we are going to be dedicated customers.. friendly folks, honest prices, authentic little shop. The worst part is the access to the parking but don’t miss Baumanns! Happy we stopped!

If you haven't been to a butcher shop in a while you need to check this place out. I stopped in a few days ago and bought some brats and pork steaks. I made the brats tonight and they were amazing. Very well ground meat and delicious flavor. I made the pork steaks a few days ago and they were outstanding as well. In the past I have had ribeyes, pork chops and ground chuck. I have never been disappointed and they're prices are in line with all the grocery chains. It's worth the extra trip.

Excellent meat market. If you don't want to cook, they have a variety of prepared foods -- including the best smoked chicken wings anywhere. Their dry rubs are great. Excellent supply of smoking woods, charcoal and other bbq stuff. Friendly service.

Kenny & his staff absolutely nailed our Thanksgiving turkeys this year! Saved us the trouble of cooking, extremely affordable, and our friends and family were extremely complimentary! We will be back for more very soon!

I’ve driven by Baumann’s for decades. I took my dog to Brentwood Animal Hospital for a checkup and while she was with the doctor I snuck over to Baumann’s. Odd looking from outside but super cool on the inside. I bought two T-bones, beef jerkey and Baumann’s chicken chili (frozen). T-bones were fantastic, the beef jerky is probably the best beef jerky I’ve ever had (I’d go just for the jerky), and the chicken white bean chili is amazing. Very nice young man butcher too. Go to Baumann’s!

We ordered their smoked beef tenderloin for our wedding dinner for 20. It was perfect. So delicious and beautiful to serve. They were friendly and great to do business with. Definitely our go-to place for meat now.

I went to Baumann's for the first time this past week and was blown away. The quality and variety of meat selection was fantastic but the hospitality of the owner is why I'll return. Since it was my first time the owner gave me a goody bag of homemade jerky and was very polite in our conversations.

Ok so I read the reviews a0bout the smoked wings so I decided to stop by and try them. I ordered 5 just in case I didn't like them. Left the shop and the smell in my car from the wings was so amazing I had to open the bag and try one while I was driving. Well I'll just say after eating one wing I turned around went back to the shop and ordered 40 more for my family and friends to try them!

Great local meat shop. They have great smoked food available! Their meat is alway phenomenal and will cut you a fresh piece without question. They also offer bones and other things for my dog which I like! Variety of spices and sauces. All around great friendly place. Highly recommend!

I returned to St Louis in September 2014 and was happy to find Baumann's again. Have gone in two or three times a month since returning. I have gotten spare ribs, baby back ribs, pork butt, bacon, andouille sausage, steaks, brisket, ground beef, beef jerky, smoked chicken wings by the pound, Bison burgers, and most recently a prime rib. All Excellent! The beef and pork/poultry rubs are a great standard by which you can judge your own efforts. Baumann's sauces are an excellent choice when your dish calls for wet, but the dry rubs are excellent. Elk, venison, and other game meats are available. A full range of wood for grilling and smoking provide you all the options you'll ever need. Top notch! Charlie is the best!

Discovered Baumann's by chance, and now I see them about every time I need any meat, and always when I want something they have already smoked. Their prepared foods and sauces are all very good too.

It is all delicious! Jim and Ann and Charlie and TO all are great, and their pricing is fair too. Five stars!

Always get great service when I go to Baumann's. The quality of the meat is top notch and their BBQ sauce is awesome. Plus you can't go wrong with the BBQ rub, usually have them put in on everything I buy. Best meat market in St. Louis!!!

This place is fantastic, no better place to grab quality meat. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and very welcoming! The andouille sausage is a must and the best beef jerky in town! I can't wait to try the rest of what they have to offer!

The smoked wings are good enough to request on death row as a last meal. Also very impressed with their ground chuck. I seriously cannot recommend this place higher!

This is how a butcher shop is supposed to be with high quality meats and exceptional service. Whether you know exactly what you want or you are looking for a little advice - this is the place you want to shop. Plus, the have the best homemade brats in town.

Having a local butcher of this quality is both highly rare and invaluable. I am new to the area and so glad to be close to Baumann's. Also, if you are a transplant or a fan of Louisiana food they do have a selection of Tasso, Andouille, and even crawfish tails. Will be back many times.

I just had the best steak I've ever had in my life. Juicy, tons of flavor, so tender I could and did tear it with my fingers. It was silky. 10/10 would buy again.
