Big Y World Class Market

I have no complaints! When you walk in the door, 1st thing to your right is what I refer to as "the belly-friendly" foods: organic, gluten-free, plant-based, and dairy-free. The section is a pretty good size with many options all in one spot. (I have been back a few times now.) They also have a nice selection of vegetables and cheeses. The employees are pretty friendly, which is another added bonus. It's just a nice change from the other grocery stores, in my opinion. Oh, and I cannot get enough of these chicken chips! 😋

I love this store; staff is terrific; store is clean. I don't like the parking lot bottleneck, and no good area to drop off an elderly person without tangling up incoming traffic, but I'll still give 5 stars.

ALWAYS CLASSY, I love the extra large pizza with raw fresh vegetables. It literally is a huge taste explosion when the veggies are raw and fresh.

Typical grocery store with everything you need in one place using your discount card you can find good deals if you look

Pizza, sandwiches, soup, sushi, coffee, lots of bread and sweet bakery, good fruits, customer restrooms... And of course all the usual. It's a good place.

Because they have good cinnamon raisin bagels and gluten free cupcakes as well I hope they will bring in more gluten free food there that's good stuff

Five stars because the store is always so clean organized and fully stocked. The pizza is delicious as well as the other warm foods. Everyone is usually very very pleasant as well. Hannah in your grinder shoppe can use some of that great energy. First rude associate I’ve come across. Maybe just a bad day we all have them but it doesn’t give you the right to be rude to customers. Let’s smile more 🙃

Wednesday sushi rolls are on sale, but they serve their Asian fusion type sushi all week, best selection is before 4pm, when the chef is still there, and can take special orders.. Try the nigiri!👍🍣

i came to big y for the western union service they have at their customer service section.
i was assisted by marie, linda and tammie. apparently the system wasn't accepting my payment and it took them over 20 minutes but they were finally able to process my payment.
thanks to their patience and diligence. i appreciate their help, they are very good employees.
i will return to big y because of them. thanks again.

I had a very large catering order this past week and could not be more impressed with the quality customer service received from the Rocky Hill location. Communication, courteousness, efficiency are all departments in which they truly excelled. I called the day prior to reconfirm and each department knew exactly who I was and what I ordered, were able to confirm we were all set and sincerely thanked me for my business and for choosing them during my hard times, while sending condolences. Not only did Ryan, I believe the produce manager, greet me in the bakery, he brought the produce order over to the sandwich area and proceeded to not only streamline my checkout in the floral area, but to bring almost all of the carts to my car for me. His help was so instrumental. The gentleman in the sandwich area was so kind and friendly. He had 24 platters plus organized and ready to go and because of his preparedness, we were able to load methodically and quickly. The lady in the florist was even happy to help make any accommodations for an easier check out. Needless to say the food was amazing! I can’t Thank You enough! Best in price, customer service and quality, I would recommend and use again.

I can almost always find everything there. Except Saturday when I went for veal cutlets for Marsala, the butcher said he had 4 pks. In the morning and a gentleman bought all four. So...I bought the stew veal butterflied and pounded then made as usual. Here is the finished product

At the first glance, Big Y looked great from outside and it caught my attention. I went in to pick up some household items and I must say that it is great from inside as well. Their business tag line 'world class market' goes well with their business. It was superb inside, not only in terms of how it was organized but also the items they carry inside the store. The staff was very friendly,helpful,knowledgeable,professional and courteous. Also, they have some good deals like half off, buy one get one free. Overall, it was a great experience shopping over here. Thumbs down, it wins over all super markets in the area.

This Big Y has a great selection of food and everything is always super fresh and delicious. I have never once gotten a bad product from here. The employees who work here are one of the best reasons to shop at this store. They make you feel welcome and are always extremely friendly and kind every time I visit. Definitely one of the best stores around.

I highly recommend this grocery store. The people are wonderful, the food is fresh and delicious. The store always is clean and well stocked. If you get a chance to meet the deli manager she's one of the kindest nicest people I've ever met.

Great Place to shop groceries if you are getting more than a few items.... Cause it is Big enough! Good Selections. Tired in between shopping, grab yourself a slice of their homemade pizza n drink n have a seat! When done, if any situation arrives at the cashiers or self check, they are ready to help....

This store is consistently providing excellent customer service. You would think with the other local grocery stores being on strike and the higher volume of business, this might overwhelm and cause a change in service, but it has not. Lea and Matt in the checkout were great per usual. Hopefully this work stoppage at other grocery stores creates some new loyal customers to this store, only grocery store I will use.

This Big Y in Rocky Hill has a family owned feel to it. The nicest people around! I’m vegan and couldn’t get Beyond Beef burgers to save my life at Cromwell Stop & Shop. When I would ask the store about it, S&S employees just looked at me like “go away”. At Big Y the butchers face lit up when a I asked. I said “I’m so happy you have them!” He said, “Well, we’re so happy your here.”
The cashiers are nice. Managers are nice. I can’t stop at S&S anymore with their growing self-checkout registers and creepy robot that beeps and moves into you way (as if grocery shopping wasn’t annoying enough).
I’m so glad I go to Big Y now! Great experience every time!

Great store compared to competitors. Though they are a bit more it's well worth the better customer service, stocked shelves and great selection of fresh food.
