El Molino Supermarket

We go for taco box Tuesdays (you can get them any other day but they're on special for taco Tuesdays) and are never disappointed. Definitely the most consistent place for tacos we have found. We were hesitant to try their birria because you get such a great deal with the taco box but their birria con queso taco trio are stuffed and much bigger than their "street taco" sized tacos in the box. Oh and super tasty.
Fresh salsa has also been great, and I've treated myself to a horchata a couple of times which has been really good too.
Also, they aren't super convenient for me location-wise, but when I can't find queso fresco (which is most of the time) I know they will have it and multiple brands to choose from.

El Molino was a great experience and a great shop for any authentic need you have. We had visited for the event they were holding for the independence celebration, where they were selling special elotes and while there I also ordered a box of tacos and wow they were amazing. Everything is fresh and flavorful and full of color, I highly recommend El Molino for tacos or anything really if you're looking for real Mexican food and products

Really excellent tacos, probably top 5 I’ve ever had. Even at the busy lunch hour, service was quick. You order at a counter and then wait until they call your number. I had pastor, Asada, and carnitas for my tacos. Asada was my favorite but they were all delicious.

Love getting the taco box 🌮 especially on taco Tuesday! Wish they had a smoothie and fresh juice stand, maybe some champurado or even cafe de olla. But 10/10 I can’t wait till the new location opens. Definitely needed a store like this !

Hands down the best tacos in Charleston. I’ve tried almost everywhere and these consistently some of the best. I’ve been coming to this place for a few years now and I tried to keep it a secret. It’s big enough now and they have enough tables and seating to where you can grab lunch and dine inside now. The picture is the birriburrito. It’s like the traditional birria taco but burrito form and it’s amazing. 10/10 would recommend. This place never disappoints. The food is always amazing.

Ya. This is the place to get authentic tacos in Charleston! The butcher shop looks amazing as well. I’ll be back next grocery run to pick up a few things to take home and cook.

All the reviews about this being the best place in Charleston for tacos are spot on. I’ve had wildly disappointing experiences in North Charleston. This place is absolutely legit.

Everything is fresh, well priced, tortillas are fantastic. The only place with good, authentic, fresh tacos I’ve been to so far.

Edit to add: the mangonada is delicious!
Five stars for its category. Great birria tacos in CHS. The supermarket has a great variety. There is also a dessert/bakery counter with fresh items. I am excited to try the mangonada, which I believe may be the only place to get one in CHS. Great prices as well!

Finally had the chance to come here while in town, as I am only in Charleston once a year.

You can find everything your heart desires for Mexican food (spices, meat, cheese, sauces, tortillas, drinks, desserts, snacks, etc.).

We also had some tacos for lunch and they were the best in town. I will be coming back here again when in town!!

Quite possibly the most authentic and best places to get tacos in the Charleston area. Absolutely wonderful food - and other options for purchase in the supermarket. LOVE this place!!! Please check it out!

Love their birria, cabeza and lengua tacos. You can probably skip the chicken tacos because they’re very dry, but the rest is always good!

The best birria tacos in Charleston! I love the house made salsas, guacamole, and queso dip. Menu items are always fresh and authentic, and the staff is so helpful and accommodating… don’t leave without a bag of fresh chicharrones and a churro!

Best authentic tacos in all of Charleston! The Barrio tacos are out of this world. Don’t skip out on the extras- house made flan (huge slice for $5.49, churros, and chips / salsa / guacamole! Every Tuesday they offer a pizza box of 15 tacos (mix & match any classics) for $25. Will easily feed a family of 4!

Gets 5 stars for having the best tacos in Charleston. Unfortunately as someone who just moved here from Las Vegas, they don't hold a candle to some of the better taco joints there, but even Charleston can't be perfect! Just close.

Confusing ordering system. You order from the girl at the little podium. You don't have to show your receipt to the guys. They get the order printed out back there once you place it.

Salsas are good. Interesting, but good. I wonder what makes them look vaguely creamy. Portions are the real winner. They heap that meat into these puppies, which is welcome! The supermarket also has a wide assortment of drinks, but you'll need to purchase those at the register. Would be nice if you could just pay for everything at once.

Saw an add for this place for taco Tuesday, and it did not disappoint. We got the half chicken, half shredded beef. And everything was absolutely amazing. The meet was tender, the veggies were crisp, the quantity was fulfilling. High recommend.

El Molino is a Charleston GEM! The supermarket itself is a beautiful, organized, clean market with fresh produce and endless goodies and kitchen supplies. They sell their freshly made corn tortillas out of their tortilla shop in the back and each time I’ve bought them, they were warm and perfectly light and full of flavor. They also have a taqueria within the market with hands-down the BEST tacos in Charleston. Right beside the taqueria is their butcher shop which is full of assorted fresh meats that were prepared with care. And on top of having all of these amazing features, their customer service is always superb. We are always greeted with kindness and on our last visit, we had not one but two employees offer my baby girl a lollipop while we shopped. I wish this business all of the success — they most certainly deserve it!

I love this place for tacos, make their own tortilllas, they are friendly, and it's they are not expensive. Just great food done simple.

Authentic Mexican Grocery and Taco stand. Pretty dang good. Perhaps the best helado I've had. I'm gonna go out on a limb and agree on their claim "the best tacos in Charelston".

These tacos are the best of the best. Accept no substitutions. Taco counter in the back of a Mexican grocery store. House made tortillas. The chorizo and barbacoa tacos are my favorites.
