Manticore Game Shop

I love this place!!! This is my favorite card shop in the area, the staff are so friendly and really do care about all of their customers. I've seen the owner stop what he was doing to explain how games work to families or even take the time to listen to children excitedly talk about their Pokémon cards or anything else really. They run great events and are always very professional. I have always felt safe here as a woman, too, no creepy comments or anything like that. They're also EXTREMELY accommodating to anyone with disabilities and are in general a very welcoming place to go. I can't recommend them enough!

Friendly owner, clean bathroom, great lighting, lots of tables for playing Lorcana, Magic the Gathering, One Piece, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh etc. Very active community of gamers. Friendly to women and families, no lewd characters on artwork on display. Very welcoming atmosphere lots of thematic, eye catching art on the walls, lots of product on sale (TCG cards, sleeves, dice, mats, D&D books etc.).

I am a semi regular here at this card store, but all of the staff are friendly and willing to help with any questions comments or concerns you may have. I recommend this location if you want to play Pokemon or One Piece, their tournaments are always organized and fair.

Owner is such a cool guy. Visited a couple years back since I'm not in the St Louis area. Nice little gaming shop, the employees are very helpful and knowledgeable about the games they sell. Can't wait to visit again in the future.

Excellent card game store with incredibly nice staff! Very chill and accepting atmosphere as well, unlike some other card shops which can be overwhelming.

Owners and employees are amazing and the shop is really fun! It seems like they have a little bit of everything there. A very positive energy too! I'm in a different state so can't go often but I can't wait to visit again someday!

Always super helpful and great prices! Helps teach kids and adults how to play and gives away lots of free stuff! The staff are always so kind and really take the time to explain things to me. Definitely recommend, great for families and adults!

Brought my son in to learn how to play Pokemon TCG, staff were super helpful and engaging. Prices seem fair. Overall vibe is chill and inviting, regular customers also seemed friendly to newbies. Definitely worth checking out for card games.

EDIT: My son and I have been regulars here ever since our first visit. We can't say enough good things about the Pokemon community and the ownership and staff here!

I have never felt so appreciated as a customer from an owner in this type of business, that goes a REALLY long way, we all work hard for what we earn, so happy it’s going to good people. The owner and the one employee I’ve had the opportunity to chat with and ask questions to on multiple occasions now, couldn’t have been any kinder, patient and extremely honest. SO MUCH APPRECIATED! Can’t wait to come by again soon!

Went here for 8 years and still is my favorite place to go for Pokémon. The only thing that I don’t like is they don’t sell video games but they are more of trading card store for the most part. The owner was amazing and now that her son runs it things are just a great as they have been for the time I’ve been playing in the leagues there. Highly recommend going here for any time you want to hangout with Like minded individuals of the tabletop gaming community.

Just went in earlier this afternoon in order to treat myself after a very difficult Organic Chem exam in class and the store still has the same great value and atmosphere I've always known them for.
Not only have they always delivered with great finds, its always been a joy to discuss Pokemon and other fandoms with the employees too!

Manticore truly puts value and community first, and when the next set of Pokemon TCG comes out, I know for sure where to pick some up!

Started playing Magic the Gathering 2 days ago and my experience with this shop encouraged me to keep playing. I ended up purchasing 2 boxes of booster packs after the gentleman took his time to explain the pros and cons of each route to take when trying to format my own deck. He took the time to explain what it would take for me to build a deck so I could participate in the tournaments at the store! I felt VERY welcome as a new player. A few customers who I assume were regulars were so kind to say “hello” and to tell us how excited they were that we like the game. It was a lovely experience, start to finish. My debit card had a bit of a problem during check out and the gentleman at the counter was very professional and gave me time to fix it and then still offered a smile the entirety of the purchase. I’m sorry I don’t remember his name, but I will remember this experience and hopefully be back soon with a great deck to challenge some other friendly players. Thank you to everyone at the store. 💕

Amazing game shop I have been to for years. Always nice and welcoming. They also have a nice variety of stock.

Today was my first trip there ever since the pandemic. The store has a very quiet and welcoming atmosphere, the same that it did before the pandemic. Experiencing the hunt for some good pokemon cards through the trays of singles and the binders was just as wonderful as I remember! Not even a pandemic and a craze for trading cards could faze the Manticore Store's dedication to service, supply, and a cost effective method for building collections or decks! Thank you for the visit today, and I will be sure to come back!!

I was welcomed as soon as I stepped through the door. The store is clean and very well organized. When I asked about a new card game I had heard about, the dude at the register told me what he knew but admitted he wasn't an expert. He never tried to upsell, or push any products on me and was a joy to speak with. They gave very nice advice on card sleeves and market trends. Best part hands down, Hufflepuff card sleeves are the most popular. Go Hufflepuff!!!
