Carmichael's Bookstore

It’s a nice place and everyone was super friendly and helpful. I was able to get from my car in the parking lot into the store in my wheelchair. Staff offered assistance with any materials I could not reach. And held the door for me as I rolled out when I left.

I love this bookstore and have since I was a kid. I've found many treasures on the shelves and have met quite a few personal heroes thanks to their events. Most recently was meeting Democratic Candidate for Senate Charles Booker, and getting his novel signed. I value every memory made here.

The employees were friendly and helpful! They had the book I was looking for, and I love the cozy feeling of the store.

This is my favorite bookstore in all of Louisville! I ADORE the selection of fiction. I love the classics, but they also include tasteful modern books. The vibe of the place is fantastic, the staff is friendly, and the selection rotates. The notebook, pen, and stationary is also wonderful.

The store itself is charming, with a surprising good stock of books for a neighborhood (as opposed to huge warehouse size) sized bookstore, and ordering books with them is simple. Support local bookstores! Especially this sweet little place. <3

Always amazing. They have a great selection and can order just about any book you want. They have some stationary, calendars, and puzzles as well. They also have books by local authors. Folks working there are always helpful and interesting. Definitely better than Amazon!

When you want a "real" bookstore, this would be my suggestion. It just has that "feel," you know? The selection is vast and the clerks are very helpful if you're looking for something special.
The little touches -- like the cards and tchotchkes and gifts -- are unique.

Where I pick up my history books and other fun stuff like pins and cute socks. Saw local authour David Domine read there.
