It's a beautiful retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Be sure to visit the upper gardens, especially the meditation chapel. I watch the weather and light change there. It's very dynamic and peaceful simultaneously. Time seems to take on a different pace. God's time.

I was particularly seeking time in nature. The mature evergreens are so peaceful. The area around the Grotto Gift Shop gave me the opportunity to sit by the trees, walk on a path that made me feel I was in the woods. Such a lovely place to visit.

All the books/bibles are the catholic version so I didn't get one BUT the grotto and grounds are so peaceful and gorgeous. Definitely a great place for peace and tranquility to silently pray to God and remember those who've moved on. 🙏

whenever my wife and i come to visit our son in Portland this is always one of the first stops we make. We love the peaceful beauty of the place. A quiet beautiful place to come and unwind after a long flight or a long day to be one with nature beauty and god.

The staff is comprised, mostly, of dedicated volunteers but they never lack for a desire to serve. Everyone, EVERYONE, is kind, professional and knowledgeable. The selection doesn't change very much, but it doesn't need to. You can also take your items up to the visitor's center to have them blessed by the priest on duty. This place is a treasure.

Festival of Lights is beautiful. I got to sing in the church. We got a standing ovation, so happy.

Great store for inspirational items . We go there most every year for the Christmas concerts and lights . Nice selection and I feel comfortable there even not being a Catholic .

It's a fun place to visit during Christmas. They host chamber choir from high school as the sounds of the choir sounds really good.
