Jewel-Osco

Shopped the Jewel on DesPlaines today. The produce selection & freshness was OUTSTANDING! Best I’ve ever seen. The choices were 1st rate!
Also, Javier at checkout is the best employee! I commend his friendliness & competency. (The only ‘checker’ in the store that is customer oriented. Most don’t even speak or look at you!) High five, Javier!

Excellent large grocery store. The best Jewel-Osco in Chicago. Very clean and organized. Has all your essentials. The fish counter also provides excellent cuts on their everyday fresh selection of salmon.

This Jewel is bright and clean. They have a bar which sometimes has live music (good). The managers are customer centric, on multiple occassions offering on their oqn accord price matching if there are out of stocks, or coupons just for shopping.

This is my jewel lol. My very favorite jewel!!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. I'm in here so much most of the cashiers and night managers know my name. Every Sunday I come to get my food for the week. They never let me down. Always fully stocked and if they don't have it. bammmmm!! They make sure I get it! They have a very nice VALENTINE'S day set up. Makes you wanna buy something right now!!

It was so beautiful and clean. The lighting was welcoming. All the fruit looked good. No dead or dying items were on display. No flying insects. The berries were on sale. $1.99 for pint of blueberries and the have raw cashews and other raw seeds and legumes that are not stocked at other locations. Can you tell it was my first time there?

My go-to for shopping. Very convenient and has good selection for general grocery.

This is a gorgeous Jewel! Nice and clean and a very big store. A little expensive though. Although it might be a lot it has spectacular taste. I bought some cookies and I had some other ones that were the same brand and same cookies but the ones from here just tasted better. Great store to shop! But, I do have one question that is just out of curiosity. Please feel free to respond to this question with an answer. Why is the logo black? I’m not trying to be rude but every single Jewel I’ve been to has had a red logo. This doesn’t affect the rating at all, just curiosity. I also just think it’s very cool. So please, if you know tell me.

If you are looking to do a full grocery shop or just pop in to buy a few things, this is the place to go! It had all the food you could hope to buy, and we found it when we were running out of hope of finding a full sized grocery in our area of Chicago. Very reasonably priced and has a good selection of fresh food, packaged food, frozen food, household items as well as sweets, crisps and drinks.

Convenient location. Items are freshly made when you purchase food from the deli menu as well as the bakery section. I will always come to this jewel for my alcohol beverages cause they got everything you looking for.

Looking for a certain ketchup they have multiple variety such as jalapeno ketchup, no salt ketchup, no sugar ketchup, siracha ketchup, etc. This goes for jellies, nut butters, hot sauces, BBQs, and any other sauces you can think off!

Great prices on fresh produce. Their meats and seafood selection are fresh. They have lamb, venison, and buffalo here!

They have a bakery that entices you with the smell from the parking lot!

Great supermarket (although not as large as some "super"markets that might as well be called hyper-markets) with friendly staff, great selection of products, and very easy to navigate (as the isles are very visibly & accurately marked and there's a cross isle in the middle that makes browsing very easy) in a nice plaza with plenty of parking. There's a great selection of produce, drinks, coffee beans, hair products, and beyond (I tried to list a few examples that spanned a large range of categories and ones I've personally purchased). This is my go-to supermarket.

Big grociories store and a lot of fresh items every day.

Clean store, easy to navigate around. Prices were a little higher than my local store back in Texas. Prices compared to other grocery stores I visited while in Chicago were lower.

I lived in K2 that’s basically attached to this Jewel for 3 years and came here almost every day. The staff was always so friendly and the produce section never seemed to disappoint. Nothing beats the bar inside on a Friday night. I never actually went but I respect everyone who did

Love coming to Jewel-Osco. The produce section is always stocked and fresh, the staff is so courteous and helpful, very friendly and give a good customer service experience, and the selection is fantastic. I love the seafood and meat department. I always make a quick stop here when I need something.

They have a very large organic produce section that is very clean and neatly organized to show off the fresh vegetables, greens and fruit. I always find what I need in here. Wine selection is okay, you can probably get a wine that will be adequate for your need, but it doea not have as much variety as a wine store would have.

It's a grocery store, they sell food! Go here a lot because of it's proximity to the green line. Typically has everything I need. As far as going to Jewell goes, I'm typically split between going to this location or the one at Roosevelt, because even though it's a farther ride, there's way less walk from station to store.

A modern clean and customer service priority grocery store. The staff is very visible and available to assist guests at all times. Produce and The Bakery are standouts of freshness and high quality products. There is ample parking for special needs customers. The lot is well lit and organized. Attend!!
