This Hardware store looks like it won't have what you need from the outside, but once you go in you will realize that it's a mini home depot.

They have all you will need when it comes to tools, nuts/bolts, screws of all types, plumbing equipment and more.

I went in looking for gate latch cord so I wouldn't lock myself in after I installed the latch on My garage door. Right when I walked in they helped me immediately. They knew exactly where their products are located in the store. They took me to the cords and wires they had and I spent less money than I thought I would!! Definitely will come here before going to the big chains for me DIY needs.

Great independent hardware store. I’ve always managed to find what I’m looking for here, including random items like a plunger and a new key fob battery. Customer service is great. Highly recommended.

I bought a desk online that shipped without a small essential wood piece. The company was unable to send that individual part, so I called around to hardware stores in the area to see if anyone might be able to recreate the piece. Two stores said no, but Kim's Hardware took on the challenge and had an almost exact replica made in two days! Incredible. They saved this desk from the landfill!

A very well supplied neighborhood hardware store with a very friendly staff. I always find what I'm looking for and even some suggestions on how to use it or a better option for whatever I'm trying to "jerry rigg" at home.

Got keys copied here and they did it very quickly and the service was really friendly and great! I had a lot of keys to copy and they even helped me sort them out according to the original copy. Very reasonable, $2 a key. I highly recommend giving them your business :)

Update: these guys rock, brought in a lamp for repair and they were the best. I needed a part replaced and didn’t know it and they ordered the part and fixed it for an extremely reasonable rate. Kims is the best!

Been here a few times and they have a huge selection for the size of the store. each time the staff has helped me quickly find exactly what I need, and has been very welcoming and friendly. Prices are fair too. love my local hardware store !

We stopped by as we were really frustrated with IKEA as their parts broke during furniture assembly. We came in feeling very angry but were promptly greeted with smiling and friendly staff who were extremely helpful in finding exactly what we needed to assemble our furniture, and we left feeling very happy! Will stop going to Home Depot and make this place my go-to hardware store! ❤

First visit, I needed to make a couple copies of my key and they were helpful and quick. I did a lap around the store making notes of future diy projects that could benefit from kims.

All of the staff are extremely helpful and kind. Prices are reasonable and they have nearly everything to meet your hardware needs! They also have a good deal of household items.

Kim’s Hardware is an staple in the Edgewater neighborhood. I’ve been a customer for over 2 years and you won’t find a staff more helpful and kind. The pricing is beyond fair and they will go out of their way to help you find an affordable option for your problem or project. They also have a FANTASTIC selection of items and rarely don’t have what I’m looking for. Can’t recommend more.

Maybe the last old school hardware store in Chicago! Huge selection of everything! And besides being totally knowledgeable on anything hardware they’re super friendly! This is a family owned business!

Kim's is great! A real family store! The guys in there are super helpful & very friendly! They really try to help their customers & have a great deal of knowledge & experience, so whenever I need to fix something & I'm not sure what I need I just head straight there! They also have suitcases, carts,& other stuff in the back. Super cool local store!

Oh my goodness, the people here are so genuinely friendly and helpful! I found this place by accident on my way to another hardware store. This is my new favorite hardware store!

These guys were very helpful and always are when I go here. One gentleman wasn’t able to figure out what I needed and made sure his colleague could. And the first guy even offered me a good Turkish coffee to try after we chatted a bit about coffee. Great service and friendly guys.

I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of things available in the store. Found the specific items I needed as well as some extras I didn't even expect to find there. And it's within walking distance of me.

Read a lot about this store and decided to check it out. Here is the price comparison of the exact same product between Lowe's and Kim's store. They are half the price on lot of items and SUPER FRIENDLY to the customers.

This is EXACTLY the kind of local place you want in your neighborhood. Helpful, friendly often hilarious staff, great selection and prices. Check here before anywhere else and certainly before buying on line.

Kim's hardware is the last of the mom and pop stores we Now and in the past Needed for all mechanical and household needs this place is a time warp on how people are treated before big box stores came and went . I welcome them as a number one hardware resource !

Love this hardware store. It epitomizes the importance of supporting small business. I've never been in here for more than 30 seconds without being addressed and offered assistance. On more than one occasion at checkout, I've been informed of cheaper alternatives in the store, which is just awesome. It beats the heck out of doing laps around a home depot looking for a floor rep. Support these guys. You won't be disappointed.
