Such a great store. Excellent for vegan, vegetarian, and health conscious shoppers! And a big, more local competitor to Whole Foods. I just wish they had locations outside of Hawaii in other states.

I was in vegan heaven!! This is the best place for prepared or self-serve vegan and vegetarian food as well as a grill. I tried a bit of everything at the hot bar… love the curry and stuffed shells. The tofu musabi is great too! There is seating upstairs with utensils, etc. Friendly staff. Parking garage and restroom. Clean. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you have to check this place out!

A great market with, proportionately, a large selection of fresh produce (locally grown when available!) and also a wide assortment of packaged goods, snacks, beverages, bulk ingredients, and also a large beauty / wellness section.

It’s been a bit difficult to navigate with a wheat and gluten allergy since I got here so I very much appreciate you! ❤ The food is absolutely delicious and fresh. I highly recommend and it’s great that you offer gluten-free and dairy free options. ❤ tysm

I love the care and thoughtfulness that Down To Earth puts into their salad bar/ hot food bar. I always feel so healthy and food after eating here. I also appreciate that they are lacto-vegetarian (no eggs) :)

This is both a grocery store and a deli. I didn't go in with high expectations as I thought it was a regular deli. But I was so impressed with the food options here that I went back thrice during my stay in Waikiki. You get some of the freshest produce (even cut fruits sold in boxes are fresh!), and the deli has a wide range of options. It was the perfect place for a vegetarian like me.
If you're in a hurry, this is a quick stop to pick up delicious, warm food, or just cut fruits and coconut water.

Deli options: Self-serve style, have sit-down tables. The menu changes almost everyday and offers a wide range of options for both vegan/vegetarian and otherwise. When I went, some items they had Korean (kimchi fried rice, veggie potstickers), Italian (vegetarian lasagna, Alfredo pasta, fresh bread), Indian (potato peas curry, basmati rice, stir fried veggies with Indian spices), Japanese (vegan sushi), some fresh and egg rolls, and a whole range of salad options.

Vegan/Vegetarian options: Lots

Price: It's actually higher than average grocery stores, but I feel its totally worth it for the quality. If you want to go back everyday for like a week, it might be expensive.

Parking: There are a few street-parking spots right in front of the store. But they are time restricted, so make sure to read them. There's a Bartell drugs store right opposite and I found parking there was the easiest.

Opportunity knocks when you're needing strength to carry on, cold or tired. Down to Earth will lift your stamina and outlook on life with usually reasonably nice but busy shop keepers and some of the best meals. Know yummys are all natural and good for your health + a few dollars over fast food's raising prices. I also enjoy getting
Hoolono Olena Heat for flavorful energy and helps curb over- eating ar home-- great on avocado and rice, better than tabasco sauce.

Best natural food store I’ve ever been to. They don’t compromise their high standards and their quality is second to none. Awesome hot bar and deli selection, great pizza, juices, and more! We only shop here for our groceries when in Kailua.

As the other reviews suggest, this is a heaven for vegan/vegetarians. We enjoyed the Avacado toast sandwich, lasagna, noodles, smoothies with ginger, pizza and desserts. They also had soups and Indian and Thai options. Convenient and multiple locations with parking and grocery store.

Everyone said it would be difficult and expensive to be a vegan in Hawaii and they were right. Thank goodness we found this gem! They had everything we are used to having on the mainland at decent prices. Great fresh produce and a nice variety of Vegan and Gkuten free product. The parking was tricky but definitely worth the trouble. Bring your own bags as they charge 10 cents a bag!

Literally a piece of heaven on earth (the hot bar food ) and a heaven that doesn’t serve meat which is a big plus…
It’s sad tho there’s no DTE in Waikiki and having no other and better option for vegan food I didn’t mind going there everyday single day of the 10 days I was in Waikiki.

The lasagna omg!

This place is mostly vegan food with some vegetarian food. They have every brand that you could ever want to try! Really phenomenal selection, and they have a ton of hot and cold prepared foods all of which were delicious!

oh my freaking god if you’re vegan and or gf you need to come here, 100% better than wholefoods. Two words= THE BUFFET.
Pay per weight buffet with countless vegan hot and cold options, PLUS an entire fridge full of prepped food, cakes, cookies etc. EG vegan pumpkin pie??? Cheesecake??? Tofu musubi, vegan enchiladas, mock chicken - GOSH I COULD GO ON

The rainforest sub is hands down my best meal in four days while visiting o'ahu. Delivery was super fast too. 😀

Worker in the wellness department was so nice n helpful. I went in looking for a specific product. They have so many products, I was overwhelmed! She saw me looking lost and came to my rescue. Got what I needed, and walked around to check things out. Will definitely go back!!!

This is a nice little organic grocery in Honolulu, with plenty of parking and plenty of help for finding specialty foods.

They also have a vegan-friendly food and coffee bar adjoining.

Every time I come to Oahu my best friend and I come here daily! This place is the absolute best for people with food allergies, specifically if you need gluten free & vegan food options! The pastries are amazing! Gluten free/vegan chocolate donut is to die for! Huge kombucha selection, and so much more!
