Great collection of pins, stickers, and clothes. I specifically went for the leggings, but overall the clothing material feels far sturdier and higher quality then anything you can get from a chain or amazon at similar prices. Owner is friendly, personable, and easy to chat with. The artwork is great, the Tie Dyes are handmade and look great. I did not purchase any today, but there is a collection of reasonably priced and good looking jewelry including some very nice earrings, and some geode slice necklaces. I will come back when I re-visit lansing

This is going to be a long rambling review about how much I LOVE this shop!! Not only is it owned by a super cool lady who does all the tie-dying herself, but also shows off some local artists in the area which is really very cool. I walked in an immediately lit up. The energy was so warm and inviting. Truly good vibrations in this place. Endless things to look at, truly everything you could want. I I eventually settled on a gorgeous purple and yellow tie dye robe, because I have been searching for a nice one to lounge in after work. I’ve bought several trying to find the perfect comfortable fit. I settled on this as my purchase, knowing I was coming back, SOON, for more. I was in love with the amazing colors and softness of the fabric. I left with the robe, and my now favorite sunglasses. When I slipped that baby on to get cozy at home….I’m a changed girl. This is my life now. I live in this robe now. Laura uses top notch quality in everything and it shows. It’s so beyond comfortable, and I look BEAUTIFUL!!!! I feel amazing. Thank you Laura, at Capital Hippie for upgrading my life and giving me my new favorite store! Your work is amazing, and so are you!

What a magical shop! Upon walking in, you’re greeted with a warmness from not only the music and the aromatic scents elevating the atmosphere, but most importantly greeted with a genuine smile. I could wander Capital Hippie forever especially considering all of the nooks and crannies filled with local art. Definitely a must-see Lansing attraction.

Capital Hippie has become one of my favorite small businesses to support, a truly amazing business owner with truly incredible products made by hand by the owner.

A few months ago, I purchased a rainbow flannel from her on impulse and was so excited when it arrived. As a tall woman, I can never find things that fit well and are comfortable with long sleeves. This shirt was not only the cutest thing I’ve ever seen, but is so soft and fits like a dream! With the ability to roll up the sleeves when it gets warm too, this shirt has become a staple in my wardrobe and a calling card for anyone who may be looking for me. As seen in the picture, it was key for a convention I attended and made it super easy for people to find me and say hi! I continued supporting the store owner online and waiting until I could make my next purchase to further support and expand my collection.

I placed a large order online last night, and shot her a message letting her know that we were moving into a new home and I wanted to ensure the package would arrive at our new address after move in so the former owners wouldn’t be getting my mail. She was beyond happy to help me with that and ensure it’d be delivered in the time frame requested and made me aware a few things had sold out that I had been interested in. Instead of refunding me and leaving me longing, she told me she’d make the items custom for me and asked about my preferences with tie dye which is an incredible level of consideration!

I continue to be blown away by this business, and the owner clearly is extremely talented at what she does and has the best customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I genuinely could not recommend this business any more than I am, she’s an amazing person to support and her products are absolutely phenomenal. Every single time I wear her work in public, I get stopped and given compliments and asked where I got it from! If you’re looking for something bright to liven up your wardrobe, look no further than Capital Hippie. She’ll tie dye anything and everything to keep you and your home looking funky fresh and vibrant.

Charming throwback store with lots of tie-dye and a great vibe! Update: My groovy wrap skirt fits perfectly and is GLOW IN THE DARK!!!!

Cute little rad shop in the heart of downtown Lansing. Checked it out as a place to sell our candles and it was lovely.

Owners are super nice and genuine. I get compliments every time I wear something I bought here. My personal favorite is my tie dyed rainbow flannel.

Such an awesome shop!!! Laura puts so much love into her work and it shows. She had a wedding dress on display the last time I was there that was stunning. An absolute must shop if you are downtown! Very eclectic, such cool album artwork and happy vibes from this shop and their staff.

Capital Hippie has an amazing environment. Everything is so fun and vibrant in there store. You cant help but smiling when you are in there

Super cool shop!!! Great vibes with lots of unique / handmade items from local artists & fam 😍

Such a unique and fun shop. You can tell Laura puts her everything into all of her tie dyed products. There's so much more than just shirts too. Hoodies, pajamas, shoes, you name it there's a good chance Laura has brightened it up with a fun array of colors. Add that to the always good tunes and walls filled with other artists creations for sale and you've got a pretty sweet store that brings a little more life and a lot more color to the downtown area.

I love tie dye and knew I had to check this place out when I read about it! I ended up taking home a t-shirt and a dress and love and wear them both, a lot! The owner was very friendly and didn't mind chatting which made me feel very welcome. I hope to visit again soon. I'm hoping to find one day down the road, a similar dress (t-shirt dress) with pockets!! A girl needs pockets for all her stuff!!
