The inventory at the location nearest me was sold out of girls running shoes so I took my boyfriends daughter to the Vienna location. I’m so glad I did, because we were helped with her gate assessment by Sylvia, an employee who went above and beyond helping her find the perfect shoe. She gave her tips on proper running form (including a little flyer for posture) and really took her time making sure the shoe fit perfectly. I highly recommend this location and this running store!

I love this store and have been buying my workout shoes there for the past six years. I recently had a knee replacement and the sales associate I worked with was so knowledgeable and helped me pick out the perfect pair. Great experience!

I used to come to this store preCOVID.
COVID and two surgeries, later I finally made it back to the Vienna store. It is a challenge to find good sneakers for flat feet but with Caroline and Matt's help, Brooks and New Balance have worked for me! Checking out HOKA now. My show size has changed but comfort is still there. Thanks for all your help and support!

I never thought of finding shoes right for my feet, but Sylvia empathised with my frustrations and delivered a brand and design that worked perfectly for me!

Highly recommended for those who are finding difficultly in getting a good shoe fit on their own or need the ultimate level of customer care to find their next running/trail/walking shoe.

Really good vibs and the customer service was better then chick-fil-a!! super friendly and they are knowledgeable! They look at your feet and running in detail to get you the best shoe. I also got a teacher discount, and not a lot of places do teacher discounts, so i am 1000% coming back here.

If I could give more stars I would! I’m so impressed by the knowledge, kindness, and sense of community! I’m still in the parking lot and didn’t want to leave until I wrote this! This is my third time in this location, and will keep coming back as long as they are open! I purchased a pair of sneakers from here just under a month ago. Wore them around, was good about not using them to teach dance on carpet, and they came apart at the bottom in one small section. This almost always happens with my shoes, but months and months later. I could have probably glued, but as this didn’t usually happen with my shoes and my specific foot structure issues this soon into wearing them, I wanted to check in… So I called and Maya picked up and was so lovely, pulled up my receipt from the system and between her and Dan who was equally as wonderful they both got me a new pair, even exchange, and I was in and out in a matter of minutes. Maya, Dan, and all of their colleagues are extraordinary! So incredibly kind, so professional. I would have walked out of there just as happy if it didn’t work out. I’ve not once had a bad experience here! If you’re looking for good shoes and a good experience check this place out!

Fantastic customer service; these folks care about your running experience like its their own. I'd been struggling to find a new shoe after my favorites were discontinued, so I went to Potomac River Running store and they scanned my feet, analyzed my running/walking stride, listened to my preferences, and their first shoe recommendation was perfect! Couldn't be happier with my new running shoes. The best part? You can run in them a few times and if they start to feel wrong their return policy is good for 30 days. I made sure to get in a few good runs/walks to make sure the shoe worked for me.

They also have a great selection of running accessories/gear, and some info about local races if you need anything like that.

I scheduled a shoe fitting after seeing all the good reviews... and I was not disappointed! Chris was very patient and knowledgeable. His vast experience working at = PR = and as a runner himself comes across through the sound advice and useful recommendations he gives. I cannot wait to try the shoes (and socks) that I bought and will certainly go back when I need replacements. Keep up the good work!

My son needed a hard to find cross country spike for upcoming first meet. Scoured the local stores here in NJ and the internet. Potomac only one that had his size and color combo and did a phenomenal job shipping. Received Thursday night in time for this Saturday morning's meet. Great job, thank you!! Great experience getting fitted! They take a video of you running and talk you through what they see and why the recommend the shoes they do. They didn't have the color I wanted at the Vienna location so they had them sent over from Reston. I appreciated them saving me the drive! I went for my first run in the new kicks today and everything felt good.

Great running store. They helped analyze my run. They put me on the treadmill and recorded my stride. It was cool to see and insightful when buying new running shoes.

I have been shopping here for years and they are fantastic! The staff saved me last year when I managed to get plantar fasciitis in my left foot - they tried several shoes and insoles with me until they got the combination just right so that I could still run as comfortably as possible while also healing from the injury. This expertise and care is absolutely not something you can get by ordering shoes online. Everyone please support this gem of a local business!

This is my favorite shoe store! Dan is always great and has never steered me wrong in picking out a shoe multiple times. Sara worked with me last visit and through her expertise I tried on some shoes that I would not have gravitated towards otherwise...and they felt GREAT! I didn't get the shoes yet because I just got a pair for Christmas, but I know what I'm getting and where I'm going (PRR!) once my mileage is up on the current pair. It's such a relief to have a shoe place dedicated/knowledgeable to runners where I can try on the shoe, run in the shoe, AND see myself running through the camera recording so I can be 100% positive I made the correct shoe choice.

Great running store, lots of shoes to choose from and try. I got a fitting done last week (18 March 2021), they were very helpful, patient, and informative. Plus they have a 15% military discount. I will definitely go back there for my next pair of shoes.

I've always loved walking and hiking, but am a very new runner. I get stress fractures, and shin splints frequently because I have weird feet. I desperately needed to get some new, better shoes. I work right near the Vienna location and decided to stop in. Alexandra assisted me, and she was super knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. I felt very comfortable with her and she helped me find a new pair of shoes that I hope with help address the issues I'm having. I will definitely go back here if I need anything in the future. These guys are the best! I came in and needed help to find a specific type of running shoe and the staff (Rachel in particular) spent a good amount of time bringing out different shoes to try, asking questions about the feel of the shoes to try and find the right pair for me, and giving me great information about what I was trying on. You really won’t find the kind of attention to customers needs anywhere else. If you’re looking for running shoes this really is the place to go. Thank you so much for helping me out!!!!
