2020- Its my go to carrs. I get Starbucks daily i love all the girls that work there verne trained them all so i know they are good. I also love the manager at night hes so wonderful. The cashiers are so friendly here its my favorite place to grab groceries, they are open till 1am which has saved me a few times when i need that one thing i forgot lol.

The girls in this bakery performed an amazing feat for me, of which I am so grateful. I live in Washington State and I have a son who recently moved to Girdwood, Alaska, for his job. I called all over Girdwood trying to find a store that sold birthday cakes so I could order one for his birthday. With no luck I placed a call to Crow Creek Mercantile in Girdwood as my last hope. The manager of that store (Brian) told me that once a week he goes to the Carrs Store on Huffman Road in Anchorage to pick up goodies from their bakery for his store. He suggested I call them and if they can do the cake he would pick it up on his weekly run and deliver it to my son. When I called Carrs Store I spoke with Twin in the bakery and explained my dilemma. She asked what type of cake I wanted and said she would have it ready and would arrange with Brian to take it with him when he came in on his weekly run. The cake was absolutely beautiful and they were able to frost it with dairy-free frosting (my son is allergic to dairy products). My son was totally surprised and very grateful. Thank you all for helping me out with this quest— it meant a lot to me and I really appreciated all your effort

Great customer service and not too busy

This is what I call "OG Carrs." This is, in my opinion, the best one in town. It's simple and has everything I ever need. I only go to a different one if I have to. I don't even live on the Southside, I live near the airport, and it's worth the drive. This will always hold the best spot in town, and I have made it a mission to visit every grocery store in town.

The more you shop the better discounts you get, even with gas rewards. Very competitive n always saving. Great store to be in.

This Carrs is always clean and way less crowded than other stores. Their hatch caso is amazing and worth the trip by itself. But the produce always seems better than the other stores in Alaska. It seems to be healthier and last longer. A better experience for shoppers I would say.

I mostly go to this Carrs because they are open later then Walmart or Fred Meyers. The prices are higher, but I guess that’s the price I pay for not going earlier. As far as the store is concerned, the employees are always helpful, the store is clean, there’s not a bunch of bums sleeping on the sidewalk, and the general atmosphere is good. I just recently started going to this store again because they must have gotten rid of the night manager there, she was awful! But I don’t think she’s there anymore.

Great mostly, except they won't stock- the Coffee Cola Zero Sugar, love it & I know others in at least Washington love it too. I inquired a few times to no availability, no nothing & Safeway in WA carries.

This is my preferred Carrs so 5 stars, but I think there’s something wrong with your sales system. Entered my phone number and it didn’t discount anything. I wouldn’t have gotten much, so definitely not looking for any money back but wanted to let y’all know.

Last min change of plans for my son's 1st birthday and I needed an Elmo cake! I was looking all around town for someone to help me last minute, and Tuyen from bakery saved the day! She was so sweet and was able to make us not only baby smash cake, but also an Elmo one for the grownups too, in less than 2 hours! Such great service, I highly recommend her!!!

Ya, well, I have to give these guys 5 stars! I mean, my brother is the Manager of the Store!!! 😊 Awesome store, awesome employees!! For those not living in Alaska, Carrs is owned by Safeway.

Carrs is a pretty cool supermarket, almost like Publix in the South from Florida through Virginia, and they have everything you can find. The staff was warm and welcoming, best supermarket in Alaska, and the best part about it is that they stay open later than Walmart, and I would visit Carrs in Alaska the next time we visit Alaska.

This is a very good grocery store and usually has what I need. It’s kept clean and the staff are friendly. The Starbucks in here is also very good.

Carrs has great baked goods! Their Devils food cake and vanilla cake with buttercream frosting were awesome birthday treats! I also love their eclairs and cream puffs when I'm in the mood for a treat.

I Flippin double dippin love this place,it's got pretty much everything anyone could ask for,it's much smaller than Fred Meyers so you arnt feeling like your walking a marathon everytime you come here and as long as you are a Carrs member and enter your num num you can get discounts at checkout you can see!! It should be noted the checkouters are always super congenial and nice.

When ever I need something they got it! Water, coffee, milk,eggs or razors. Even have stuff you wouldn't think they carry!

Enjoyed my shopping at 12:30am with the Alaska sunlight, good products.

All I can say is I have never had a negative vibe of any kind here
