It's wonderful to support a local small business that gives superior service! I started shopping here in 1970s. Bought Runequest, my first Table Top RolePlaying Game here in 1980. Bought all my games and dice and models here. Always very helpful and knowledgeable. If I wanted something they would order it. They always had the best prices and service in the entire Sacramento area. Original owner Jessica is still there and gave great advice. Go there! .

First off, I loved the energy of this place! I've never been before but I was on a search for two specific board games (The Castles of Burgundy & Dominion) and a lot of places didn't have them. Fortunately, I called before coming to the store to ask if they had them in stock and they did! Even over the phone, Jessica was very nice and accommodating. Being that she only had the last copy of each, she even offered to put them on hold for me which was great! I ended up getting it the same day and the pricing was great because they also have a 10% off promo. Their other selections were great as well and they're very knowledgeable on all the games if you ask. Glad I could support a local small business, and if you're considering it you should too! Highly recommend you check them out!

Been one of Jessica's customers since the 90s. Great shop! Always finding treasures tucked away on the shelves. She has ordered countless products for me and my group. When I show up, she lets me know when new goodies have arrived that she knows I will be interested in. She has a vast knowledge of the model/paint and TT boardgame industries. Excellent customer service! A fun and enjoyable experience, during each and every visit.:)

Wonderful little shop. The staff was all friendly and willing to answer any questions. The variety was great. Minis, paints, model cars, planes, tanks, etc. Also a wide selection of games (with great prices).
They have been in this same location for over 45 years and you can see why.
We even forgot our receipt and she walk around the corner where we told her we had parked just to make sure we had it.

Excellent selection of board games, model kits, miniatures, and model paints. Lots of really great vintage stuff that's always fun to look at as well. The lady behind the counter, Jessica, was super nice and friendly.

An amazing hometown hobby this little shop is a breath of fresh air compared to the big box stores and hobby shops I have been going to this hobby shop for years it was nice to return to it when I was in town Jessica is an amazing person very helpful and very knowledgeable I can't wait to pop on in again when I'm in town again

This place is a model builders dream! Lot's of military and aircraft models. Supplies galore. A very nice and sweet lady owns the place (I believe she said 45 years so far) The best part for me was the smell... Books, paint, games and everything else that makes a great hobby shop smell so good. I highly recommend Viking Hobby!

Wonderful staff who feel more like family than employees. I have been going for 20 years now and I do not buy my modeling supplies anywhere else. It is always a treat to go in and look around for box games, models, and books.

Stopped by on a whim and was impressed with the service and selection. I really felt like she wanted to help me and not just going through the motions. A small shop, but packed to the ceiling with hobby goodness. I will be going back and would recommend others to check them out.

Best model shop in the Sacramento area

This shop is wall to wall with board games, models, hobby supplies and books for RPGs, war gaming, and hobby painting! The staff member Jen was very nice and helped me special order some models that were not in stock. I bought 4 different WWII model tanks and I’m excited to buy more. Generally price competitive, and any slightly higher price is worth it for the wealth of knowledge they provide. A great small business that deserves all the support our community can provide!

Extremely friendly staff, and lots in stock. This cozy shop is one of the best hobby stores I've been to in a long time. The staff answered all my questions and offered advice about anything in the shop. If you can't find what you're looking for, the staff will even make special orders for you. I found a plethora of paints, models, and even board games. You do not want to pass up this shop.
