I've been going here for over two decades. A lot has changed in terms of personnel and even store layout. I've been a member then I stopped my membership when Kev stopped working produce. Now every so often I come by to get something specific like good craft beer, kubucha on tap, or cool plants out in front of the store.

Great produce. And they carry Mr Naturals hemp coffee filters and tea bags. Great product.

Found an old gift card from several years back. I figured I should bring it in and at least see if perhaps there was anything at all on it.

The employee knew immediately to go to a binder beside the registers and was able to look up the card details right there on paper since they had switched to a new system and no longer had access to the old info!

She was fully trained on how to transfer those funds to a new card so I could use it right there on my purchase. The whole process took maybe 2 minutes. I was truly impressed and she was so friendly!

I know that if this kind of scenario had happened at some corporate retailer like Safeway or Target (etc.) the cashier would have probably had to call for a manager and it would have held up the line.

I'm so happy to be able to be an owner/community supporter of this awesome resource. She even walked me step-by-step through a change of address form for my ownership account.

PS - Another employee was able to notice me having a rough tone searching for something after barely 10 seconds and offered to help.

PPS - They sell Cali-made "Peanut M&Ms" made by SunRidge Farms (out of Royal Oaks, CA)...called "Milk Chocolate Peanut Rainbow Drops".. I never have to stop by a candy store again.. 😉

Long time shopper of the Co-op. Small store that packs a lot with many organic selections. They even have some limited fresh meal choices from their kitchen, and a coffee tap (nitrogen) towards the back. Yum!

Such a great shopping experience. I love the fresh produce. I love the little self serve coffee stand inside. I also really like to purchase my herbs there. The bins are also a fun find. You are encouraged to bring your own containers but remember to tare them before you add your goods. I like shopping here because I am positive that everything in the store has been quality checked and often supports local farms and companies. Thanks for helping us make good shopping choices for feeding our family.

A great small town food cooperative. Yes there is a membership fee but it is a small price to pay to have a store with the essentials and minimal processed foods. The size is wonderfully small. I can lap the entire store in less than a minute. The store also focuses on having lots of local, seasonal and organic food options. They make these difficult food sourcing decisions for me so I can focus my energies elsewhere. Sometimes this means products are a little more expensive but this is the cost of a more sustainable food system. It is also a place where the staff will learn your name if you open up to them. This place carries all my favorite specialty items I can't always find in other places. Added bonus is the great staff and sense of community.

Really clean, beautiful little Chico store. Nice employees, fresh produce, gorgeous handmade woven indian printed little shoulder bags and hip bags. Well thought stocked kitchen goods, like butter keepers, and Palo Santo sticks and candles for home. Nice experience, great location, very easy, accessible parking too! Plus, I'm now a part owner (it's a Co-op) for only $20 per year. They kindly gifted me a huge bag of goodies for joining--yeah! Oh, and they're open till 10pm! terese

As is the case with most stores that sell health Focued essentials or organic food they are not exactly cheap. They do many items that can be a fairly decently priced and a good selection. It's a pretty and a clean store, and their produce is excellent.

A wonderful place to get healthy food & produce. Purchased a “ mummy wrap” out of the deli case-it was delicious! It’s a combo of tempeh, apples, nuts,curry, peas in a wrap. Creative, delicious and healthy

I love to shop here. The staff is extremely helpful, especially Beth, who I'm pretty sure does mostly customer relations. The inventory is great, especially in the bulk section. The cashew and almond crunch bars are the best $1 snacks I can possibly imagine. Aside from member discounts, they offer coupons that make help make a big difference in your shopping experience. I prefer the prices over S&S, especially for fruit and produce. I make it a point to renew my membership every year.

This is a central part of our community. I have been a member since forever and ever. Nice folks, tasty food, decent parking. Try the homemade Fruit Crisp and all the other delightful treats on offer! Wow! ✌

I wanted to thank the Sunday morning staff for being so patient and KIND with me. They went above and beyond their job descriptions. I had not shopped at the co-op since March. I want to make sure their manager knows the excellent customer services these two young folks showed me. Thank you again. Happy holidays to each and everyone of you.

Always a good place to shop while in Chico...my home town. I watched this grocery store grow for the past 35 years. It's such a cool and laid back store, I love this Chico Icon!!

Very good food, expensive but worth it, if you can afford. The food bar is the best !! The spinach and cheese croissants are so good. And the fridge with food they cooked on site has great stuff ! My favorites are the butternut squash lasagna & salted caramel brownies 😊

Great store, with wonderful and bubbly staff. They are handling the pandemic wonderfully, they provide masks, have hand sanitizer locations throughout the store and are consistently cleaning surfaces. All around wonderful place to shop and a great place to buy local produce and natural speciality items.

I have no idea what it's like now, but I have fond memories of it as a kid.

I have to start with saying this store is undergoing major changes. So any negative reviews in the last few weeks must be taken with a grain of salt. Every single person there is doing thier best to accommodate each and every shopper who comes in while major consuction is going on in the back half of the store! You can imagine the disruption to thier ordering and thier normal routines. While there i saw staff working extra hard to try and fulfill customer requests.
When they reopened this week everyone was amazed by how nice the new floors looked. We all know how projects like this go. They always take longer than expected! I have seen nothing but smiles and support from this group of workers.

Chico Nat has been our go-to store for MANY years now. I love that they feel like a safe place that reflects my values - inclusivity, local, fresh, etc. They have yummy fresh produce so I don't have to worry about having missed the Farmer's Market to get my local goods. They stock from many local suppliers as well like Llano Seco, Tin Roof, Hearth and Stone, Lundberg, and Beber (to name a few). The prepared foods are delicious and there is a nice vegan selection (the vegan fruit crisp is my favorite)!
