Dollar General

So I spend a fair amount of time in dollar stores because while sometimes the bargains are not actually the deal you bargained for, I just like the overall feel of most of them. Dollar General isn’t favorite. Every time I see one I haven’t been in before, I have to go in. Anyway, I’ve been to this one many times before and while I’ve always had pretty good experiences with the employees in all of them, today one of the employees was kind to me in a way I really needed and you don’t see much of anymore. I’m really struggling financially right now, every day is a fight to have shelter, food…well I was short on my bill and instead of voiding everything out or looking down on me, she just covered the difference out of her pocket.
To her and to whoever might read this…you might think little stuff like that doesn’t matter much but I can tell you, when you’re trying to do the right stuff but it seems like everything is still going wrong, when you’re hungry and you feel ashamed because you can’t seem to get it together like other people have, and when you really just need somebody to just be a little nice to you…and somebody blesses you like that…yeah, it matters. You never know…one small gesture might be what keeps somebody hanging onto hope, however threadbare it feels to them.
So thank you for being nice to me today, Kind cashier from DG, please know it made all the difference cuz I really needed it.
Also this store is always very clean, pretty well stocked and checkout is not too slow, relative to the lines in most dollar stores. Go here.

I love my neighborhood Dollar General Store. Always well stocked , very well kept and clean store. Everyone that's there at the store is so nice and helpful. Melvin is the most caring nice person. Love the music when I go in, really picks up my spirits, takes me back a few years when music was real good.

I work right next to this store so I am always in there. Nice staff every time, very personable and the prices are awesome. I paid $40 for all school supplies for 2 kiddos today and though what a deal. Then I realized probably $10 of that was miscellaneous groceries. If you need to get school supplies, go here!

Always good place to fill in for Xmas cards and presents. Sales folk in really cheerful holiday mood today. Pleasant shopping today.

This store was huge. Talk about having a variety of items. Wow. However the 5 star is for the store, but once there, a man in uniform was outside drinking a beer by his car. He had to be the manager because he had a different shirt from the ladies and was much older. 🤷

They now have an app that can get you savings on your purchases. Very easy to sign up. I actually signed up on my phone while in the store and was able to use the coupons upon checkout! Best part is it was all digital! No paper hassle.

This store has the most helpful and friendliest staff. Melvin, the manager, is very kind, extremely helpful and am always happy to meet his customers. The entire staff answers questions politely and aids customers without hesitation.

Clean, Neat Store.
Steph, was very calm and polite even with a long que. Very knowledgeable about online coupons and offers.
They always have good variety and decent prices.

My cashier was friendly. Good neighbor store. Corporate needs to fix their lights out front! Almost 2 years? Very dark at night.

Kind employees, good location, great for quick grab n go and everyday necesities. The folks running it were very helpful during the snowstorms, thanks DG employees!

I think is the. Best dollar General in the nieghborhood . the manager. Melvin is alway woring stocking that store everyday i walk in an i complement him every time and thank him everytime . keep up the great job sir.

The prices and it's still all reasonable it's nice to be able to grocery and shop Christmas at the same time. You still have his always nice and then a professional.

Try to stop and pick up a middle of the day snack/sugar rush, when I get a chance. Prices are very reasonable the store is always clean & employees are friendly.

This store is always so neat and clean. It's one of the smaller ones but very organized and well kept.

The Dollar General here on foster rd. Always has what I need except gallon water. And the staff is always nice, friendly and helpful when I'm in need of help finding a certain item

Always have what I need in stock unlike other dollar generals near me. Polite cashiers. A bit overcrowded inside tho.

Friendly staff and a great place to pick up quick last minute items and avoid the overcrowded grocery stores near by.
