Great selection of Japanese products from Japan and embodying Japanese culture. Picked up a few snacks to go. Area is busy at all hours. Great diversity in snacks, produce, and home goods. There is plenty of English translation and labeling to help understand what products are.

Marukai feels exactly like a grocery store in Japan. They have it down with the daily fresh sushi and rolls, signage, and employees that will greet you in Japanese.

I had to visit a couple of times before I felt comfortable walking around the store to and figure out what I wanted. It can feel like you’re going in circles cause you are, but the layout does make sense after a few visits.

Sushi and bento boxes are 20% off after 7PM.
Parking is free with $25 purchase for up to 1 hour.
Personal checks are no longer accepted at checkout.
Alcohol sales end at 9PM.

They have a self check out and a regular check out, and microwaves by the exit to heat up meals.

You can get all kinds of specialty groceries, frozen food, Japanese snacks and fresh produce here. The price points are similar to that of a Ralphs or Vons.

Every time we come to Little Tokyo, Marukai Market is a must stop. We always find something new and interesting to try. There are so many great things here that you simply cannot go just once. The sushi quality is outstanding, my personal favorite is the Toro Bowl with a Melon Calpico. 😊

Besides the large selection of food to-go and beverages, they have an extensive selection of vegetables, fruits and Japanese necessities. You can get everything you need here, and they validate parking, which is very helpful when parking in the Weller court. Love this place, will be back soon!

One of the loveliest Japanese stores we’ve been to here in LA! We stopped by to buy some snacks for the ride back home and after glancing through the aisles and displays, Marukai Market clearly has a lot to offer. There’s a wide selection of packaged snacks, onigiri, sushi, baked goods, desserts, cooking ingredients, produce, and general kitchen-ware like plates, bowls or pots. To our surprise they even have plushies, toys, and figurines! Just about everything you need or want from an asian market, Marukai has. I was also very happy to see both tourists and locals buying goods from here. I love seeing a well-visited store and this market is definitely well loved by it’s community. We will definitely be coming back to visit whenever we find ourselves in Little Tokyo 🤍

Notes:
- Self-checkout is available
- Security guard at entrance
- Street parking/Little Tokyo parking
- Located in a plaza with a lot of other great shops!

🥰Love this store but parking is kind of tight… I had a strong feeling my small parking was going to be bad, the person who was on the other side decided not to be courteous and hit my side door. Don’t assume people will get in carefully and backup to let the other passenger in, we witnessed this from afar after the inside attendant placed us in the tight space. Sucks but there are wider spaces, wait for those instead. We love this store so much we’d give it another go. Lots of goodies here and great sushi, snacks, coffee, desserts, and many other things. Took the store survey from the QR code at the registers and learned they are certified vendors for Japanese Wagyu. Will consider that a curious option on the next visit. Overall it’s a nice place and worth the visit, note to those going in the parking structure, it’s tight and the entrance may not accommodate a truck or large vehicle. It’s canned sardine parking down there, be sure to fold your mirrors in at least and brace yourself for dings and scratches from cars besides yours. 😫👎🏻

Extensive selection of all your fav Asian market products at really good prices.

Grab some fresh sushi from here and grab a seat at an outdoor table to make for a quick and affordable lunch or dinner on the go!

All your most eclectic instant ramen brands and flavors as well as cute gift section right at the entrance.

Don't miss out on the boba ice cream bar which is amazing and at a reasonable price for a package of 4.

Lots to do here. In essence, it's a little Asian grocery store. But it offers so much more. In addition to shopping for authentic Asian food like real mochi and kim-chi, you can come here and eat lunch, whether it be sushi or ramen. There is also a little bakery that has all of the good stuff for those with a sweet tooth.

The place is clean, safe, and the parking is fairly easy. This is my go-to place when I need to shop for Asian food.

Simply amazing Japanese grocery store! Haven’t been able to go back to Japan for 3 yrs and the place I live in Canada has no Japanese grocery so was so happy to do shopping here. Price was fair and there are so many Japanese products too!

DTLA Japanese market located on Astronaut Ellison S Onizuka St inside Weller Court. Parking lot entrance on 2nd St, nearby parking garage, street parking and (1 hour parking validation with $25+ purchase) Market is a bit small but has everything from Japanese liquor & snacks to bento & sushi. Decent prices, no lines, clean and organized store. The staff and management are outstanding and literally had me in awe... each and every employee I encountered was knowledgeable and courteous! I give thanks for **Extraordinary Guest Service** to 🏆Matthew🏆 to 🏆Joan🏆 and manager 🏆Nessie🏆 By far one of the most pleasant shopping experiences I've had and you have my gratitude! 5 Stars! I would definitely recommend this market!

Authentic Japanese goods and food. I love everything in this market, especially their food!! So fresh and yummy. They also have microwave and hot water near the registers so you can heat up your food or eat ramen right away after you buy it; just like in Asian countries!!

Love this Japanese market. Bring a reusable bag. The lines can get long but they are fast. Stop by for a small lunch with onigiri and their teas.

Extensive selection of Asian items. This store isn't as big or as well stocked as the one in Torrance but it's still one of the best options in the LA area.
They have a great selection of snacks, both from Japanese and Korean companies, fresh sushi and baked goods, cooking and pantry items, lots of Asian cosmetics and household, cooking and organization items. A worthwhile place to shop if you need specific Asian items and not stuff you find in places like 99 Ranch or even Hmart.
Parking is free with validation for an hour in their underground parking garage. Entrance is on 2nd.

I love the variety this market offers! They don't accept EBT yet but they are working on it. Limited street parking + easy underground parking available for $2/15min.

A great, compact market in Little Tokyo. There are many things to purchase that can't be normally found in other grocery chains, and if you're a fan of asian snacks/food, then you will definitely love it! It's a store I frequently go to whenever I am in the area, so I totally recommend it!

Love this place for inexpensive sushi and rolls that taste pretty awesome and are made fresh daily! Make sure you make it by 4, because after that, you may not find too many fresh trays on the shelf as people do buy them at a good rate. Haven't been disappointed by their quality in all the months I have been going there. Oh, and yes, they do take your temperature before going, so they are considering precautions given the current state of things. Adds a sense of security in my opinion. They also include chopsticks for any roll set you get. If you don't see them, add it in at checkout, just ask.

Great japanese super market! All of the imported goods were pretty cheap compared to opposing markets. Had a huge isle of plushies, great selection of alc, makeup, premade food, etc.
