What I love most about this place is their hot food made in-house!!!!

I have loved their chicken and egg rice bowl (oyako donburi) for DECADES!!!
Their other hot bowls are good but the oyako donburi is my favorite!!! It's so simple but tastes so good :O!!!!! They use the perfect amount of wine and soy sauce to make my favorite tasty bowl!!!

Def a spot where you grab lunch and some essentials.
They have assorted lunches and meals packed to-go! So delicious. Everything I have gotten here has hit the spot.
From futomaki, chirashi, to oyako-don -all very yummy!

They carry mochi from Fugestu-do.

What you won’t know until you go, items are limited and you gotta go right before peak times to get the best variety. I came after the lunch rush on a weekday and they didn’t have too much cold sushi. They items that always seem to be in stock are the spam musubi, onigiri, and rice plates.

If you love fried wontons- get the spicy crab fried wontons!! I got this on my last trip and for like $1.80 I got at least 5 or 6 fried wontons with imitation crab inside. The best part? It was actually crispy when I got home! I was expecting it to be stale and soft since they were sitting out but nope! I regretted not buying them all up!

Little Japanese market which has been here as far back as I can remember. I like purchasing the food they readily have available. There is also sushi in the fridge to the right of the sushi counter/window.

Convenient Japanese Mini Mart with Bento boxes. Fast and easy to pick up snacks or ice cream on a hot day or in a hurry.

Delicious Sushi and Musubi , with their amazing furikake spice , Im definitely coming back for lunch to try their other lunch plates!

This is a very good Japanese shop kind of mini super market. We get almost all Japanese restaurant foods here as ready to go packed. I tried many of their foods and it was so delicious. The price is less and the food is healthier.

A great selection of bento box lunch! I’ve lived in Japan for a few years and I would say the food here is very authentic, plus the price is reasonable!

Love this little store that has been around forever! I've had many classmates work here in the past and it's so nice to see this place still here. I heard they are moving down the street, but I didn't confirm it. Great little store if you need Japanese food products!

If we haven't already made something we really like to go here and pickup Japanese food for my mother-in-law. The prepared food is good and authentic. My kids like to get things for themselves too if they're with us. They have retail packaged snacks that they enjoy too.

Great little Japanese grocery store. I wish they would have more organic food like natto. I only see 1 or 2 organic items

This place seems like just a small convenience market but it is so much more. This is a well known place within the local Japanese community. I was lucky to hear about it from several friends. They are known for there sushi. The quality is very good but the prices reflect that. What is a bargain is their poke and their sashimi and rice plate. This is from a person who does not eat fish much but I see how great it is when I see my family feast on it.

Everytime I have been coming to this area for the last 10 years I have to have a bowl of kasudon with karage chicken. Good food with snacks too and a good variety of beer and beverage. I look forward to visiting again real soon.

It may be because I grew up on it, but this corner store has my favorite sushi. I love their selection of bentos and bowls as well! Plus a solid collection of Asian snacks and a modest grocery.

There are not a whole lot of Japanese markets in the Monterey Park area. So if you want some Japanese items, this is the place to go to. There is a little bit of everything in this store. They have a kitchen that makes sushi, hot and cold foods, and there are also some tables and chairs to sit and eat. Their staff is very friendly and helpful.

My favorite local Japanese market that offers fresh sushi/sashimi and groceries!

I frequent here about twice a month to stock up on Japanese ingredients and to have sashimi dinners with my family. The employees here are really patient and helpful. They make you feel right at home and are always happy to help you!

The parking lot is shared with many other businesses, so it can get packed during lunch and evening hours. It's usually not too crazy though.

We gonna make hand rolls today. Tozai supplies me with all the goods needed. Maguro(tuna), masago(fish eggs)....
