This bookstore is so special. It has an incredible curated collection. The environment is very relaxed and comfortable. You can hang out and do a puzzle. I cannot recommend it enough?!

There are always fun and interesting invents happening at this amazing venue bringing the community and local artists together. I was so excited when this new bookstore opened up down the street from me. Its a great and welcome addition to our community. The selection of books is so beautifully curated by the owners and they feature some great local vendors too. Even though the store space is small, they somehow magically manage to pack it with something for everyone, and I never leave empty handed. Everyone is so welcoming I could spend HOURS here. They also host amazing programming, book talks and community events. I love having such a welcoming and diverse space in our town. Definitely 10 out of 10 would recommend.

Underdog Bookstore is such a friendly, open, and helpful bookstore that the city of Monrovia is lucky to have! Although their book selection is not as expanse as a chain store, the books that they do carry on hand are amazing. If not, they also told me and helped me order specific requests of mine. In addition to books, they sell tote bags and stickers (super adorable!). They have many community events that help people feel included and I can’t wait to go back again!

This shop is a delight! So glad to have a bookstore in Monrovia, especially one curated as beautifully as this one.

So excited to see a new bookstore for me to haunt! I love the design, love the selection, love the vision. The owners are fantastic, had a mishap with a coloring book we bought there (publisher’s error, not theirs) and they immediately fixed the problem as well as validated the feelings I had about the situation. We will definitely be adding this store to our book addiction supplier list ;)

Monrovia is lucky to have this new and exciting bookstore. I’ve already been there multiple times since the opening (and kinda need to get a new bookcase because of it). The staff is friendly and welcoming and the selection is exceptional. I recently bought some Buffy the Vampire tarot cards and I’m in love!! Thanks, Underdog!

Cute little book store with a great selection of books, not all but many by people from marginalized groups. The owners made us feel welcome and were fun to talk to. Also the adorable puppy that hangs out there is worth stopping in for alone.

Bookstores are my happy place and I’m so happy we finally have one in Monrovia. Underdog Bookstore started out as a popup bookstore at the Monrovia Street Fair on Fridays and I’m excited they’re now a more permanent part of Old Town Monrovia. The owners are lovely people and their dog is the sweetest little pup. My son sometimes asks to stop by just to see the dog. I love that the business is rooted in representing, making space for, and putting the spotlight on underdogs.

I like this Bookstore. In addition to an emphasis in diversity and inclusivity themed books I found wonderful titles to improve personal communication and how-to craft books. There are fun items that make great gifts and locally made dog treats. There is lots of parking available nearby.

Underdog is such a welcome addition to the Monrovia community!! They are incredibly kind, always have great book recs, and the selection is so well curated! I love the events that they host and have I mentioned how KIND they are? This is by far one of my favorite bookstores EVER and I’m so grateful it’s here in our little city! The childrens section is absolutely superb. I've never found a more inclusive group of books to help our child understand her friends, community, and family better! It's welcoming, comfortable, friendly, silly, and exactly what Monrovia needed! This perfectly curated store is just starting out and has already created a safe place for community and connection that all Monrovians can appreciate. Thank you Underdog!

Really lovely store with a fantastic staff - plus a bonus friendly little pug mascot! The shop itself is lovely - quiet and calm and very easy to browse - with a unique selection of books that you can’t find everywhere - perfect for shopping for a gift or just finding your next unique read by an “underdog” author.

This place is a true treasure. The staff us warm, friendly, and extremely helpful. They have curated an incredible book selection that profiles BIPOC authors and topics that are less mainstream. The children’s selection is wonderful! Highly recommend!

Underdog is cute shop with a lovely little collection of books and gifts! definitely go and support this brick and mortar bookstore! there's cozy seating, great vibes, and a view of Library Park across the street.

One of my fave bookstores owned by some of the kindest and most hard working people you will ever meet! The selection is great - I love that I can find books here that may not be shelved elsewhere. And you can have a curation appointment to find a list of books that are suited to your tastes!

I bought 2 books here a couple of weekends ago and I was so impressed with their diverse book selection! I also grabbed a really sweet book about emotions for my 3 year old. I’ll definitely be coming back.
