Just had the best vegan sandwich ever! The bread was fantastic and the combination between the spread/sauce and the different textures of the vegetables inside was just right. Pricey, considering the fact that it is a grab and go ( eat it somewhere else), but I was happy to pay for the flavour and the freshness. I didn’t do any shopping at the store, so can’t comment on anything else, but the service was great.

Can we give 10 stars for this store? A go-to convenient shopping place for high-quality meat and fresh produce ranging from local and international choices. Looking for hardware items? Check. Looking for French macaroons and pastries? Check. The salads are awesome and the staff are very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. They also have a huge parking space if you may ask. Sounds fantastic? Visit now.

Despite being tiny, this is one of the most pleasant grocery experiences in LA, from the immaculate food selection to the fun staff. Avoid weekends as it gets impossibly packed.

My wife and I love this highly curated little market in Echo Park. They don't have a ton of items but what they do have is the best. The bread is outstanding and the cheese selection is always great too. The people who work there are knowledgeable and warm. One of my favorite places to shop.

When visiting my son in Echo Park last October we went to Cookbook often for ingredients. I love this store! My favorite thing was discover Grandma and Bubb’s Bread! I even bought a sesame loaf home in my suitcase along with many other less perishable products! Great store! Beautiful produce and a lovely cheese selection! Can’t wait for my next trip back to LA!

Discovering Cookbook was wonderful as I was looking for a grocery store that sold really good non-commercial bread and this is the place in Echo Park. Also, has the most beautiful fresh organic veggies, herbs and dairy. Dry goods are specialist and perfect for a foodie treat. They have strict CV19 protocols in place so be prepared to wait your turn to shop. I totally agree with that and it's worth the wait for great bread and grocery.

This is the Mary Poppins' bag of markets - a tiny storefront that magically has everything. The produce, bread, and fresh herbs are all incredibly beautiful and the prices are very reasonable for such a nicely curated store. I wish I lived in the apartment upstairs so I could go daily.

This place has great local produce and home-made pre-made fresh and frozen dishes. They also have amazing bread and other speciality items. It's small but very good. I love it!

Well-stocked, vest-pocket sized gourmet convenience store. A good place to get fixings for everything from a munchies fix, to a picnic, to a quiet meal at home, to a large-scale dinner party. Thoughtful and knowledgeable staff. An asset to the neighborhood and also to the city.

I’m from out of town, so I regret eating the peach upside down cake nearly every day during my last visit because I am hopelessly in love and in a tragic long distance relationship with it now. ☹💔
Can’t wait to be reunited with my one true love. 💞

My favorite place to shop -- once you have their produce, you'll be hooked. Don't miss the cookbook handmade biscuits in the freezer or the harissa chicken (usually comes in at 4pm).
