Dollar Tree

This is a brand new Dollar Tree in the home of a former Ace Hardware. I went midweek, a few days after the "Grand Opening" banner went up over Labor Day weekend. We also went early in the morning to avoid crowds. I was disappointed to see so few people wearing masks, especially the employees.

The store itself is bright and well lit, with wide aisles. Since this store is replacing the one very close by, almost across the street, it is a huge improvement over that dim, cramped store. We found tons of art and craft supplies that we didn't know we needed, as well as lots of other fun stuff.

Oddly there was no "anti-itch" cream that I was looking for after being bit up by mosquitoes lately. However, they haven't quite unpacked all the inventory yet, as evidenced by the boxes around and a couple of gaps in the shelves. My daughter was thrilled they had two types of "blind bag" items, one with plastic animals, one with lip gloss, and I liked the official Barbie accessories, like shoes or purses, for $1. I am impressed by the big freezer section, but didn't try anything there yet. We did buy a "Stroopwafel" (caramel wafer cookie) from the Netherlands that was delicious though!

It's back to school time at the Dollar Tree on National Avenue. The school supplies are being put out on the shelves and so are the fall decorations.

This Dollar Tree is now one of the expanded stores that goes up to $5.

You will see name brand products ranging from $1.25 to $5. Even the Food Lion has expanded to pizzas ice cream vegetables you name it. So if you need a quick Frozen dinner it's a good place to stop.

However this expansion has lessened the Shelf space for some of your old time favorites. Like hard candy Lifesavers, Bisquick, those canned apples in cinnamon. But I'm sure we'll all discover some new favorites.

They now carry those tall boards that you can set out your door for every season. They have towels and washing powder that is tied in a bigger container not that little dollar 25 one. They have a larger line of crafts supplies and varieties of material fat squares.

There is only one little section of two for a dollar cards the rest of the aisles of cards are now a dollar a piece.

The parking lot is easy to get in and out of. It doesn't have potholes. The doors are double doors. I wish they would have put sliding doors in. The parking lot is large and will let.

There are less employees. But that's no different than anywhere else. The big difference is these employees at Dollar Tree have a lot of patience with customers who have gotten the covid impatient me me syndrome. So please don't get agitated when you have to wait a little. Don't take it out on the clerks because there's only one of them instead of three of them. Just be glad our Dollar Tree is still open!!!

Please be kind and thankful that we have this wonderful Dollar Tree.

This is a new, very big, and well stocked dollar tree who happens to have the nicest most knowledgeable gentlemen (and I’m sure women though I did not meet any one this visit) I’ve ever encountered during a dollar tree visit.

Also, many of the shelves seem so much more organized intuitively and neatly than I usually see in a dollar tree.

What an impressive example of what a dollar tree should be.

While I do miss having an 'old school' hardware store in town. I really like what they did with the space! It is so clean and modern and it has been convenient for crafts, snacks, and last minute decorations!

Cashier Ed was super nice! There was also a huge selection of little toys - perfect for my kiddos potty training incentives.

Staff is incredibly sweet. Very helpful. One lady worker went beyond what she had to... To solve a problem. I don't get out in this area often but when I do I always make a trip to this specific dollar tree.

Best place to buy gift bags, cards and some food products. Couldn't believe they had 50% off Christmas wrapping paper today. That made it only .50 a roll for Hallmark paper ! Such a buy for penny less me.

My wife and son shop here for low cost items at a good price. I still miss having a hardware store here.
