ABV Barrel Shop it's now my favorite liquor store. In addition to barrel picks that are fabulous the camaraderie with Steve and Jim and the customers are just fantastic! It's like being part of a family. If you get a chance you should become a member the benefits are tremendous and you may even have the opportunity to be part of a group to do a barrel pick in a 10 classes as well as tastings at their events .They are located in Arnold, Missouri and you should make it a point to stop by.

Great selection of barrel picks from craft distilleries around the country. Jim & Steve are both highly knowledgeable in hourbon and bourbon history. A great place for bourbon aficionados and novices alike. You can try before you buy.....

This has become my favorite store for whiskey. Jim, Steve, and Darren are both personable and knowledgeable. Because most of the inventory is craft single barrels, they have a "try before you buy" policy. These are some great bourbons! There are also tastings and classes that are interesting and fun. I highly suggest a trip to Arnold to experience the best bourbon store I have ever been to.

The owners, Jim and Steve are extremely knowledgeable about each barrel pick and so much more. If it’s alcohol related these gentlemen can teach you so much. Just sit and listen to them talk about their passion!
Darren is there too, an employee who is knowledgeable and such fun. Jim and Steve are fun too!
A great try before you buy shop! First 2 tastes are free and a small fee for eavh thereafter.
They also support ALS in many ways.

Wow this shop is so cool! They offer exclusive single barrel picks of their whiskey and bourbon, currently featuring some local and award winning craft distilleries. They say they will have new picks coming in each week. Can't wait to see what comes in next! Excellent for the discerning customer to before you buy. Not only can you purchase bottles here but they will have classes and events nearly every week.

Had the opportunity to stop by the barrel shop for the first time a couple weeks ago and met Steve. He was very personable and makes you feel right at home. Outstanding selection that you can’t get anywhere else and the opportunity to try before you buy is great. I look forward to many more visits and the upcoming Planters release party that I am attending.

Visited this shop on their opening weekend. What a place! They only do single barrel selections from distillers, and for just opening up, they had quite a selection to choose from. The Tasting Bar was a nice touch as you can try everything before you buy a bottle. They also have a number of tables where they host Education Classes, which seems like a nice thing for the local area. The owners are part of the ABV Network and do podcasts as well. The bartenders were very attentive and know their whiskey. We also met the owners when we visited, and they were very proud of what they accomplished as the amount of work done was impressive...to Bourbon Enthusiasts, you will love the history and decor, not minimizing the whiskey selections. We purchased bottles from Neeley Family Distillery, Wood Hat Spirits Distillery, Still630 Distillery, and Stumpy's Spirits. They also had other offerings from Deerhammer Distillery and Old55 Distillery. Quite an impressive start for just opening. I highly recommend you visit while in the area or give them a call to find out what is in stock.

Elite liquor store when it comes to finding whiskey you won't find anywhere else, and you get to try before buy. Great hospitality and you get to chat with people who know the whiskey industry far better than any other store around. They'll take the time to walk you through their selection of single barrels from some of the best up and coming distilleries in the country. Thanks Steve!

The most unique whiskey shop in the world. Each whiskey is meticulously selected and only the best are worthy of being sold in the shop. Steve, Jim, and Darren are all extremely knowledgeable and truly put their heart/soul into the whiskey business. With so many different offerings, there is a bottle for everyone.

Every day is a unique experience at the ABV Barrel Shop. No two days are ever gonna be the same, whether that is new products on the tasting bar or sharing laughs with the owners and patrons in the shop. Jim and Steve are some great guys and they know what they are talking about when it comes to bourbon. The tastings and classes that they offer are a must for anyone who has any kind of interest in whiskey. You can’t go wrong with any of the products they have on offer. They allow you to try before you buy so you can make an informed purchase. You never know what you’re gonna get when you walk through the door of the ABV Barrel Shop, but it is a must visit for anyone in the St. Louis area.

Very cool store!! My wife and I stopped by with some friends to buy a couple bottles and it was a fun experience. Talked with Steve and Jim about their offerings and sampled some as well. They had great Christmas gifts as well. Highly recommend!

Super cool Bourbon shop. (I didn't realize you could be that specific with a liquor store, but this place was packed.)

Probably the best shop I’ve ever visited. ABV was not what I expected walking in. I was visiting St. Louis for the week and looking to hunt some unique bourbons. I was not disappointed. Steve welcomed me and my buddy in to the store, told us all about what they do and offered us samples of several of their barrel picks. My only regret is that I didn’t buy more bottles than I did! If you needed a reason to visit the St Louis area, ABV Barrel Shop would be top of my list! Thanks for your hospitality Steve, and I’ll definitely be back as soon as I can!

Had to stop in after reading an article about the ABV Barrel Shop. I am so happy that I did. Steve and Jim shared their knowledge and the hospitality was second to none!!! Had some amazing pours and learned something about the background of each. I adopted three new bottles and plan on adding many more. Well worth a trip and repeated trips for incredible juice and the many other things offered.

The Best Bourbon and Whiskey selection in St. Louis. I highly recommend attending one of their classes!

A really great place to go and learn something about bourbon from two guys that love bourbon. This is a small shop with a lot to offer, from bourbon (obviously) that you can even taste some of what they sell, to apparel, glassware, chocolate and other great parings that serve well with single barrel picks.

These guys are picking about 100 barrels a year to bring to you in Arnold MO.! They have a kind of internal slogan of “We suffer for you!” Sampling that much bourbon must be a feat! I am a fan and have even attended a class on paring chocolate and bourbon, the room was full and comfortable and very entertaining.

Barley the dog even adds to the ambiance of the place. If you are ready to try some truly unique bourbons and you want to learn something along the way ABV is the place to be.

A true hidden gem! Steve is very knowledgeable and loves what he does. You can tell by the enthusiasm that he has when he is talking about whiskey. You will not find any whiskeys that you see on t.v. these are all hand selected from small to medium distilleries. Be prepared to learn more about whiskey when you visit

ABV Barrel Shop owners Steve and Jim bring a great experience to anybody who enjoys whiskey. Their single barrel selection and try before you buy allows the consumer to know exactly what they are paying for. Their knowledge of the industry and hospitality will keep you coming back. I learn something new every time i enter ABV Barrel Shop.

The ABV Barrel Shop is the only store that I know of that focuses on single barrels. Unless it is a rare, allocated or special release, I rarely purchase non-single barrel store picked whiskey anymore. The best part about it is that ABV will let you try a couple for free before you buy them. Steve and Jim are both very knowledgeable about the whiskey they sell and are always willing to make a recommendation. Get in there and check out what they have. Their releases usually don’t last long. If you don’t like whiskey, stop in and check out their oddities section, they always have some unique spirits other than whiskey.

You gotta check this place out. I always stop in when I'm in town. knowledgeable staff. incredible selection of Barell pick bourbons , unique gifts for bourbon lovers and classes for those that want to know. and friendly customers too.
