Love having this co-op in the neighborhood. I frequent here so much and love supporting them. Their selection is pretty dang good for being such a small shop, and they have reasonably priced local eggs. The grab and go cooler is so convenient, often have fresh baked goods at the counter, a good bulk selection where I can bring my mason jars in and fill them up, and they always have fresh locally roasted coffee for cheap. Missing the cafe but hoping there’s more and more pop up events!

Editing to say I’m not sure why that person below me is so pressed about it costing $120 to join the co-op, it’s literally $20 for the year. Maybe for the lifetime benefits but you don’t have to pay that up front. You don’t have to be a member to shop here either.

Looking for a Vegan place to meet my taste requirements. This place has over 4 stars on Google. Drove from Waukesha to eat here.
Did not disappoint! Great environment. Large selection of food. And I tried 4 different things. Came here with someone else and we were both very happy. Fast service, friendly staff. Hot delicious food. My new favorite go to vegetarian/vegan place.

A great oasis for vegans, and especially vegan travelers. Being on the road and eating plant-based can get tricky, but MKE has this covered well. We had Tofu Scramble, biscuits and gravy, and French toast. It was a beautiful day, we sat outside and enjoyed conversation and some sunshine. I think the food could be better overall, but judging by the amount of business I also understand that keeping up with high demand can come with slightly less attention to detail. Bonus: picked up items for our hotel kitchen while there from the Co-op. I'll be back next time we are in town!

Every neighborhood needs a Riverwest Co-Op!!! Sad that the cafe is no longer open BUT you can still get a BBQ tofu wrap and other classics in the deli cooler.

So lucky to have this In our neighborhood!!! The proper place to dine if your afraid to eat meat 🥩 for whatever reason! Not strictly vegan in the Cafe but almost all plates have the option... Decent enough grocery selection just hope someone someday will talk these folk into carrying some humanly raised antibiotic free meats 🍖 or something besides offering the fresh turkeys 🦃 for Thanksgiving (which are out of this world FYI)...

Sad to see the cafe closed, hopefully one day it'll be back since the food was delicious. Anyway, the grocery has a pretty good selection for the size, with a decent bulk food section, some hard to find vegan ingredients and interesting local finds. It's on the pricey side for some things, but I like to stop there and support the co-op

This is my new neighborhood spot! The cafe is has INCREDIBLE vegan options! The rest of the cafe has a smaller selection of produce/goodies, but the cafe is 100% on point, with a large section of different vegan options, super impressive and VERY reasonably priced for what you get! I became a co-op for $20/annually after my first visit!

Oh my lerd!!! The co-op cafe is THE BOMB. Used to live across the street, but I always always always take the time to grab a notorious BBQ tofu sando when I come to town

I am new to being vegan, my girlfriend has been vegan for awhile and as we are new to the Milwaukee area wanted to try Riverwest Co-op. We loved it. I got the biscuits and gravy with the vegan sour cream. I was amazed. The biscuits are delicious, they and the mushroom gravy are definitely homemade. The gravy is a brown gravy that I feel you would normally see on mashed potatoes or something like that and not a breakfast dish, that said I would still order it again and smile with every bite. My girlfriend got the tofu breakfast scramble with veggies. She couldn’t get enough and finished the plate. She was full but wanted more, it was so good she couldn’t get enough. The grocery store is pretty cool as well. We walked around for a moment and found a couple blue sky sodas to enjoy with our meal. You order in the cafe and pay in the store, bring your ticket back and give that to the cook when they call your name for your meal. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

I really love the food from the cafe! I have tried many options and have yet to be disappointed. I would highly recommend the vegan pancakes....they are so delicious, and my mom (who is not vegan) preferred them to her pancakes. I went vegetarian a few months ago, and this place has been amazing to go to for filling and delicious options.

Came here for brunch and really enjoyed everything. Prices are really good for prepared food (the grocery side is a bit more expensive), and everything we ordered was amazing. Never knew seasoned tofu could be so good, and the vegetarian sausage could have fooled me. Will definitely be coming back for brunch again.

You won't even miss the meat in the awesome vegetarian and vegan sandwiches here! Only about four tables as it attached to a grocery store.

I'm so happy the cafe is open for take out again! We got sandwiches and a smoothie and everything was delicious. The co-op is great for grabbing forgotten ingredients for dinner, too.

This Place has the best vegan food I've ever had. Actually, it's the best food that I've ever eaten. If I lived in Milwaukee, I'd go there every day. My favorite meals are the Ruben and the VLT. Breakfast items are just as good as the rest. I highly recommend this place. Best cafe ever.

A really cool vibe, lots of different organic and vegan options I haven't been able to find other places. The cafe has DELICIOUS food and smoothies! A bit higher priced, so I can't go every day. But it's definitely a place I'll go to treat myself.

I love this place. Friendly people and good food. The co-op has bulk food, grocery items, & produce. There are sales often as well. Even though it is small there are lots of choices. If you are a co-op member you can special order items & order in bulk.

The cafe has closed, but they still occasionally have ready made food in the cooler.

Delicious, fresh food! I am not vegan, vegetarian, gluten free or organic. I eat at McDonald's more often than I eat here. But I actually look forward to eating at the Riverwest Co-op Cafe! The grocery selection is wonderful, with many hard-to-find items. The bulk coffee selection is tops (buy bulk on Thursdays!) If you've never been, stop in and give it a try. The super-friendly staff is always ready to help and answer questions. Going to the Co-op is one of the highlights of my week!
