The Running Well Store - Mission, KS

Yesterday, I went into Running Well in Mission, KS after being referred by Dr. Ware at KC Foot and Ankle, that I try a pair of Altra shoes. We were assisted by Joel who was amazingly knowledgeable and helpful. After discussing my activity levels and why Dr. Ware sent me to see them, he filmed my gate while I walked in socks on a treadmill, then he measured my feet so ‘he’ could be comfortable recommending the correct brand, size and type of shoe. While trying several on we discussed alternate ways of lacing the shoestrings to increase comfort while locking the heal in place. Needless to say, I bought a pair of shoes. The shoes I purchased are similarly priced to shoes I have purchased at big box shoe stores where you will never find anyone to help you. And if you did find someone, they won’t know anything about the shoes.

I recommend Running Well for anyone who runs or walks for exercise and if you get Joel to help you tell him hi and thanks from me.

My feet have become wider over the years. Never could find a shoe wide enough at the “stores”. Went in to running well and they had a wide toe box running shoe that gave my toes plenty of room to wiggle. I am on my feet walking a minimum of 10 out 13.5 hrs a day and these Altra running wide toe box are THE BEST. Thanks Running Well for being local and having a shoe that fits my needs.

Wow. I never realized how awful my shoes were for my feet until Christine did a custom fitting for me. Turns out I needed way more cushion. Asked my husband if he wanted to try a fitting and he said “nah, I’m good, my shoes are fine….” After he saw my reaction to the new shoes he decided to try a fitting and OMG we couldn’t stop laughing at how dramatic the difference was for him too. We both said our old Nikes and LeBrons were like walking on metal plates and the new shoes picked by Christine were the comfiest shoes we’ve ever tried! Thanks for all your help! Now we can conquer Disney World!

First time visiting this store based on Google reviews and it didn't disappoint. I desperately needed new shoes for walking/working out. The young salesman greeted me right after I walked in. He recommended a solid pair of On Running shoes based on the support I need when I'm exercising etc.

There is a 30 day return policy if I end up not liking the shoes. You can get store credit or a different pair of shoes. You also get a $10 reward in your birthday month. 10/10 recommend this store if you want high quality shoes.

Great running store with an in depth and highly personalized shoe fitting process. Would recommend to anyone looking for new running gear. And shout out to Will for getting me set up with the new Altras and Oofos slides.

This place was amazing!!! I went in there looking specifically for Hokas, which they have plenty of by the way, and was floored by the experience i had!!! I wanted to buy Hokas because I work 12 hour shifts walking around on concrete and moving heavy stuff all day, all while having plantars fasciitis, and my shoes needed replaced. A lot of my coworkers sing praises to Hoka, so I wanted to try them out. The sales person that I dealt with was very knowledgeable, as I got the distinct impression that everyone in that store has a very firm grasp on shoe technology and the shoes that they sell. I decided to trust this salesperson and I have zero regrets in placing my trust in this person. I was given a great lesson in shoe technology and why certain shoes would be good and why, in this person's professional opinion, some might not be what I am looking for. I walked out with a pair of Brooks Ghost Max, which I have never owned a pair of shoes that have felt as good as these, and the knowledge that sometime in the notsodistant future I will be heading back to this specific spot in order to get a pair of Altra Torin 7. Both of which were not even on my radar when I walked into this wonderful place. Thank you Running Well Store for enlightening me on exactly how shoes should feel!!!

I was a walk in looking for Hokas to try on and the staff was very friendly and brought me every one they had in my size. I found a pair I loved and I appreciated the patience and service. I will definitely be coming back!

I went in today for the first time and the staff were amazing. The gentlemen that helped me was very friendly and gave good information on running shoes. If I need a new pair I will for sure go back.

I love shopping local even if the price is a little higher. The customer service was great. They took the time to go over features & listened to my needs. Plus they have a treadmill to try before you buy. These shoes are only 2 weeks old & have obviously had plenty of use! Glad I found them. Customer for life.

My brother lives close and I was visiting from out of town. I used to run and had on my last pair of Hoka running shoes from more than five years ago. He said they always have good sales so I went. When I walked in the front door there were three big plastic tubs of shoes. One was a $40 tub and the other two were clearance priced shoes. The young man working there helped me dig through looking for anything my size. I tried on several pair and came away with 3. (2 from the $40 tub and one from the clearance tub) I walked back by the women's shoes just to see if there might be a pair I thought I just had to have. There was one I liked but the new shoes were anywhere from $140-$170, so I stuck with the three pair I found on sale and ended up paying $174 for all THREE! If you're a runner, they're very knowledgeable about the shoe you need and if you're just in need of a good running/walking shoe this is the place!

Love the professional and sometimes quirky staff. Very generous and willing to help. They don’t seem to push anything and even have a really amazing return policy. Great products, and great company during Chiefs games!!! I always pick their brains on shoes and love to listen to their stories. Great group runs.

What a great experience! The store is well stocked and I got exactly what I needed. I went in for daily shoes for walking. The two employees helping me were both engaging and knowledgeable and helped me discuss different needs to find the right shoe for me. Store has a modern feel, clean and organized! I didn’t buy any but they also have some cute women’s running tank tops.

Great service. All my shoe/fit information is readily available so the shopping experience is quick, safe and easy. Most knowledgeable staff around.

My first experience shopping at the Running Well Store was great. I have foot issues and Cole was patient and listened and fit me with a very comfortable shoe. He even called the other store location and had the color I wanted delivered to the Mission store. Great experience and I like to shop local. —GM

I have bunions and flat feet and have struggled for YEARS to find shoes that fit my feet - after an analysis and a convo with their professionals, they helped me to find a shoe that accommodates both of those issues. I no longer have foot pain when I run!

The best experience I have ever had buying shoes. They are so knowledgeable and spend time with each customer. I love that they really want you to be comfortable in your shoes and allow a full 30 days (no matter how many miles you put on them or what terrain you run) to exchange them if they don't work for you. They donate the returned shoes to charity as well. I've been to other running stores and this one by far is the best. Highly recommend1

As a retail store owner in a different industry, it was very refreshing to walk in and be presented with outstanding customer service. I believe it was Connor who helped me. He was knowledgeable, informative, and listened to my needs. He went above and beyond! I am coming off a major knee injury and he took the time to find a couple pairs of shoes that were excellent to fit my situation. I think I'm even stopping back in to get a third pair soon. I can confidently say that The Running Well Store will be my go to stop for shoes for a very long time.

The salesperson was very patient with me and friendly. He measured my foot, which I am so glad he did. I would never have bought the size of shoe that was the best fit, if I purchased shoes on my own. He brought me several colors and brands and I am very pleased with the shoes that I purchased. I appreciate the individualized attention and service. I highly recommend this store.

I started running seriously again in August 2019 and I’ve relied on the Running Well Store in Mission for all of my shoes and much of my nutrition needs. The staff is super knowledgeable and patient. They are runners too and fully understand if your shoes don’t work for you and you can return them within 30 days for store credit/different shoes. Mike and his team have been very helpful to me in suggesting nutrition, stretches for injury, etc. They are kind and patient and I will be a supporter for as long as I keep running seriously, which hopefully will be for a long time to come! Also a big fan of shopping local and if they don’t have what you want, they can usually order it and get it in for you quickly. Highly recommend!
