Great hardware store. Always have just want I need to complete the job without going to the box stores.

Great hardware store. Their selection of screws, bolts, etc. is excellent and well-priced compared to large chain stores like Home Depot.

Some of the products they carry (especially A/V cables and the like) are way overpriced. This isn't the same throughout the whole store, though.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Unlike the big box stores it is easy to get help and they seem to enjoy their job. Also it is well organized, no product lying in the aisles like other places. I can be in/out in usually 5 minutes.

I was in the store last week looking a new gas grills. It only took a couple minutes before I was approached by an employee (I think his name was Lee, tall guy with a beard). He answered all of my questions and explained the difference between the different models. He even told me about his experience with current and past grills that he has owned. He was very friendly and made no attempt to sell me on a particular grill. I really appreciate that. I’m currently researching/deciding which model to get. I will be back t make my purchase when I decide on a model.

I’ve been in here many times and within five minutes a representative is asking me how they can help, and is legitimately willing to burn 10 minutes helping me fix a problem. Compare that to the big box stores where I have to chase down help, which half the time ends with “well, I don’t work in this department, let me find you someone.” I actually get eye contact here, and much more! All are friendly and I’m constantly amazed how they fit so much selection in a limited space. I admit, I go to the box stores way too often because I always assume I won’t find what I need here, but recently I have challenged this assumption, and have more times been surprised than not that they actually do have it! When you walk inside you feel like you’re in a real hardware store like your dad used to take you to as a kid; the box stores just don’t capture that feeling. Five stars for customer service, efficiency, physical layout, and convenient location. Bravo!

If you don't want to bother driving out to a Lowe's or Home Depot and walk down aisle after aisle to find one little product, then head to the McCabe Do-It Center in Montgomery. They have a multitude of products from home repair to easy gardening. They even have a small lumber yard.

I find myself going to McCabe's often, I'm usually there every week.

Great service, instead of the big box dumb looks and bad advice when you ask a question.

* Good selection of hardware items (I'm often surprised that they have the odd things I need)
* Weber grill sales, parts, and factory service. LP tank refills.
* Paint and painting supplies
* Rental center
* Service desk for glass cutting, screen rewiring, key cutting and other handyman sorts of advice.
* Good selection of tools

I find myself using their "Ship to Store" quite a bit. It is an excellent service!!! I can sit at my computer, find an item from their extensive inventory, and it's shipped out on their weekly truck delivery, usually arriving and unpacked on Wednesdays. It saves me running all over town to find things. It reminds me of the old days when hardware stores carried about everything -- sporting goods, gardening, housewares, toys, as well as the traditional "hard lines."

Still an old fashioned hardware store that knows how to provide great service!

I also get my house paint here. They are brilliant at matching paint and even reformulated some popular old colors in new paint products.

One story - I had a steel part prototype for work that I needed to tap out and add set screws.
Les at the service desk was super helpful.
He measured the holes and told me what size tap I needed. Pointed out the tap and tap wrench I needed. And then took me to the small screw aisles and sold me a handful of set Screws to fit the newly threaded holes.
Les even showed me how to Tap the hole out at the service desk.

Les was awesome. Super knowledgeable and capable. Worked quickly. Used my time wisely.

McCabes is where I go to for anything Hardware! I literally drive by 3 big box stores to get to McCabes. They have the right stuff and don't waste my time.

Excellent small hardware store. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Was there buying a piece of equipment and they knew what my plans were before I even told them what I needed to do.

Fix-it Frank was working on installing a TV bracket for a customer. I needed a good solution for an unusual mounting problem and the good folks at McCabe's helped me accomplish my goals. The result? A happy customer! Thanks, McCabe!

Awesome customer service!!
I purchased a new Traeger smoker/grill from McCabe. Don spent nearly an hour with my wife and me explaining features, answering questions, etc. We chose a grill and excitedly loaded it in our car expecting to cook on it that night. Unpacked the grill, and prepared to fire it up to no avail. Because it was Labor Day and McCabe closed early, I called Traeger. After several checks the person on the other end concluded that my "controller" is bad. He offered that they could send a new one and it would take about 7 days! Seriously? I just spent a chunk of money and you can't expedite the shipment?!? Then he said it would not take me long to install the new controller. Really? A brand new grill fresh out of the box and I am supposed to make repairs? Traeger is not off to a good start with me!

McCabe Do It Center to the rescue. I spoke to "John" at McCabe the next morning. John offered an immediate solution to the problem so that we can be up and cooking. Thank you to the team at McCabe Do It Center, Montgomery. Through your exceptional service, you have earned a loyal customer.

Being able to walk into a hardware store and have people who really know their stuff and are actually glad to help you solve your problem -- that's customer service at it's best! Hats off and thanks to Ray, he is always that guy at McCabe's!!

Nice hardware store, guy at service desk was helpful on buying new versus repairing Stihl weed wacker.

super helpful and knowledgeable staff. Prices are a little higher than the big box stores, but worth it when you need actual customer service.

Wide variety, decent prices. Staff helpful and not annoyingly over attentive. Nice display of Stihl groundkeeping tools.

Needed plywood for an emergency repair. Didn't have any pre-cut pieces, so they offered to cut, on the spot. Made me look like a hero to the customer.

They always have what I need. They have way better customer service than Home Depot and Lowes.
