Coming here since I was a boy in school over 10 years ago. Still taste the same. Awesome food/people.

Service is exceptional! Everything is delicious. My favorite are the House special and Tiramisu. Would highly recommend!

I typically never leave reviews, but Taste of Italy is an absolute Gem. I started going here within the last 2 years and boy oh boy has my life changed. The house special with hot peppers is to die for, their pasta salad is one of the most perfectly crafted dishes in this world. Their staff is amazing, interactive and I absolutley love the small grocery section they have within the store. 1,000,000/10 would recommend Taste of Italy

Please try this place if you havent! A small off the path GEM! I usually eat inside for lunch and also sometimes come by to pick up the fabulous meatballs to take home for spaghetti 🍝 😋. Todd and his mom are always genuine and super nice....and also who ever else is working behind the counter. Just yesterday I showed up as Todd was already in his jeep and leaving...and he pulled back into the lot for me to let me get the meatballs my family loves. You don't see hardly anybody doing that for customers anymore! Appreciate you brother!

I've been going to Taste of Italy for decades. There is no better sandwich shop in the metro. This is a family owned business and they are wonderful, give these folks a try and you'll be hooked just like me!

My brother’s recommended and raved about the Italian Beef sandwich, that is was delicious and that I would only want more after tasting it for the first time. Well, I admit they were right as the sandwich lived up to all of the hype as it was excellent!!

Anything less than five stars would be criminal for a place this good. They have some of the best Italian food and arguably the best sub-sandwhiches in all of Des Moines. The food tastes authentic and flavourful, the portion sizes are generous without being excessive. The staff are friendly, kind and courteous and the service is always prompt.

It is without a doubt my absolute favourite place to grab a sandwhich when I'm in Iowa and I will continue to make myself a regular because I just cannot get enough of their delicious food. I hope they continue to find success.

If you go once, you will be back. Food does not get tastier then the food served at A Taste of Italy. Try anything on the menu and leave happy. They also have a nice selection of items to make at home. There is seating out front when the weather is nice enough as well.

Non-Profit (2nd picture) wins best hot sandwich in the area hands down. It's a perfect blend of turkey, roast beef, salami, prosciutto, capicola, fontina cheese, Italian dressing, and mustard. The flavor just pops. The House Special (1st picture) is also really good and the perfect sandwich for french dip lovers

Always passed but never stopped. Until today. OMG why did we wait so long. Such nice, loud (in a good way), lovely, caring group of employees! They knew their regulars and were VERY accommodating to us newbies. I got the P.I.T.A and it was delicious. Perfect Italian sandwich. Mom is keto and they made her exactly what she wanted with out a bun. The smile on her face was everything. The male employee even mentioned it. We will definitely be back!

Meatballs sandwich $8 (10/10) - got option for sweet or hot or both sauce, had spicy only and it was delicious

Godfather sandwich $8 (9/10) - nice crispy bread and tasty meatballs with subtle taste in tomato based sauce

Todd's great, foods great, pick up your deli meats and cheeses here over the big grocery stores and best sandwich shop around. Try the Non-profit or Chicago beef.

First time going today and was extremely pleased. I went in for the Chicago style beef which they were out of but I didn’t even care. I was met with warm, caring customer service from everyone right away. Very friendly and all smiles. I was directed to their menu so that my daughter and I could find something different. My daughter chose The Flood and I chose The Sonberg. Both sandwiches were explained and additions offered. We added provolone on The Flood and Italian dressing on The Sonberg. These two sandwiches were magnificent!!! Absolutely amazing!! I also ordered a side of each of their giardinera and OH MY WORD, they are exactly what giardinera should be. Very flavorful!! I will be returning tomorrow for the Chicago style beef 😋😋😋 Definitely found my new go to deli spot. Kuddos to all of you. Thank you for such a great experience and magnificent food!! The Flood is top sandwich (hoagie style) and The Sonberg is the bottom.
