Big John's Ace Hardware

Always helpful and upbeat, I've shopped here many times and have never had a bad experience. Big John's is definitely the place!

I was in the store buying some ten penny nails when I over heard a man who identified as "Matthew R Stevens" asking about some "Unique" sawzalls attachments (18+). I was shocked to hear the graphic nature of his questions in such a public place... I hope everyone in Glenwood avoids this man and his heathenistic ways. Great store, great selection, I would shop there again. Shame on you Matthew Stevens, a hardware store is not where you would buy such things...

I needed a bolt and nut to secure my ancient bike rack to my car after the original bolt rusted and deteriorated beyond repair. The young man who helped me was very helpful, very patient, and understood that I needed to be sure my bike rack wouldn't fall off and be unsafe on the road. I work in transportation for the state and I know that if my bike rack fell off it could be dangerous or possibly fatal for someone following me.

I wish that I had asked his name and hope he will recognize himself in this review and the owner will ask around. My receipt says 3:28 p.m. today 6/13/23.

For anything hardware that Ace stocks, definitely go to Big John's Ace before "No Help Lowe's".

I had 5 very positive customer service experiences today. When the friendly checker at Target later said "Have a great day " my response was "I'm already having one!" Thank you Big John's, REI bike mechanics, Amy's nail salon, Marshall's, and the public library. Five great customer service experiences in one day. Wait... I also had a positive phone conversation with my health insurance Rx folks, so rare. Loving it!

Thank you Ace Guy whose name I should have learned. You are a gem.

Hey John, glad to see it's still working up there!!

This place has everything you could want from a hardware store with amazing staff that know what they are talking about. Lots of repair parts, tools, garden, shop, and everything else for the home or ranch. I am consistently amazed what goodies they have tucked away in this store and items I didn't know I needed.

Update: This place is still amazing and the staff know what they have, how to use it, and what else you might need. My go to hardware store for quality items, hard to find parts, and just plain fun looking around at all the stuff I didn't know I needed.

Great local hardware store that has just about anything you need. They used to have fresh popcorn waiting by the door. All of the staff I've interacted with were friendly and knew where everything was.

I love this store, those who work at this store and its owners. I cannot think on any store where I would rather shop. They have everything you need and wooden bears to boot! Really a great place.

Everyone is so helpful, knowledgeable and kind!!! They go above and beyond, and if they don't have what you're looking for, they're happy to get it. So much better than the big box store. Their prices are GREAT and I love the Rewards program too! Shop LOCAL :)

I never went inside the store but my last boss I worked for loved this place. He said that you have a better inventory stocked in this store compared to the larger 'Lowes' in Glenwood Springs. We ended up never going to Lowes and always got what we need at Big John's Ace Hardware.

Nice hardware, and friendly staff!

Really helpful and great stock. I called asking for a part that the huge retailers didn't have. They had it and they taught me 2 things about the powerpower I needed the part for as the power tool came with no instructions and I had never owned this type of tool before. With their help my project is now done in 30 minutes when it would've taken me hours if I had to figure it out myself.

Ok I love this place they have everything from toilet paper to power tools,the store is always really clean and organized, the staff are always warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. Plus a huge selling point for me is the fact that they have the best popcorn that is complementary for shopping there. Truly a 5 star store

My friend Matthew R Stevens embarrassed himself here. He thought they sold devices for self-pleasuring, turned out it was a hardware store!!!

Thanks to Kevin, Ashley and Big John for the team effort in getting me mopping again. This kind of dedication to customer service can only be found in a small town local hardware store. Though it was a close competition Kevin ultimately was the winner in the mop fix and I am so appreciative.

Loved this store and the employees! We're remodeling our condo and we went into the store with a long list of things we needed and we walked out with nearly everything on the list + some things I didn't think I'd be able to find in a small store like that! I'd give the store and their employees stars if I could!!!

Better customer service than Lowes by a long shot. They have a "Big" enough selection that you can make it a one stop shop for everything from Hardware to Home Goods. Awesome people that work there.

Big John's is more than an Ace Hardware, he is a guy by the name of Big John who is present and will personally help you find the items for which you are looking. He helped me pick out the right gas grill when mine died. He even called Weber to get some answers to questions I had. Small town service is still a thing!

Helpful staff. They have most all of your DIY needs or they can order it. Better than the big box store experience, plus you'll support locally. I recommend it.
