I see lots of people complaining here that there is no hunting equipment. If you are looking for great outdoor gear that doesn’t pertain to hunting, ignore the one star reviews.

We went in for the first time last night and were very pleased with the selection. It had all of the brands we normally buy for outdoor recreation under one roof. Prices were the same as what I’d pay at Patagonia or North Face, but it was all under one roof, which I appreciate.

They also have a great selection of fishing gear and boats.

This store is not “woke”. Dick’s owns the place and they stopped selling hunting gear in 2020 because it wasn’t brining in profits. They can make more selling shoes and gear than guns and ammo. I think people forget we live in a capitalist society.

In my opinion, I am stoked that the trend has moved to sell a plethora of decent outdoor recreational supplies. It was always a pain in the butt for find good (non-hunting) recreational stuff. Now you can find it all under one roof.

This review is specifically for the rock climbing wall. I took the kids here today, and we had a blast! The gentleman running the area, Ron, did an outstanding job working with the kids! He made it such a fun experience, even for my son who was very reluctant to climb! We really appreciated the friendly and exceptional service!

My husband and I had a fantastic experience at Public Lands. Blair and Chris were extremely generous with their time, knowledge, and assistance in helping my husband get stared with fly fishing. The staff members’ passion is contagious! We are so grateful and lucky to have them as a resource as we explore this new hobby. Thank you!

This store is definitely very well designed and they have a variety of high ended products. Unfortunately, I cannot afford some of them but, that's ok. It's very cool to see that they have a section of locally made products as soon as you walk it. I love seeing local businesses supported. I would also like to thank Kimberly for her assistance,advice, and friendliness on this late Monday night.

First time at this store, saw a pair of North face shoes I absolutely had to have, but only in a specific color. I can honestly say I’ve never experienced the high level of customer service before, as what I received from Hayley, Robin, and Robert. They searched all of their store options, checked the sizes on the mannequins, and then double checked some other outside stock area, and finally found my shoe. What amazing teamwork. The funny thing is, none of them seemed annoyed, and were super excited for me when they found it! What an excellent shopping experience!

First time shopper converted to a new returning customer. This place is amazing. Good sales on well-made sustainable clothing, well-informed and friendly staff, and well-organized clothing sections… I could go on. Fabulous!

There's something for everyone at Public Lands. Just visited yesterday during a women's open house event.. it was great. And the staff in each dept is so knowledgeable. Awesome selection of sporty clothes, fishing gear, outdoor equipment, and an awesome section in back with local brands of snacks, muffin mixes, kombucha, tea, coffee, pottery, etc. Try the climbing wall!

First time in Public Lands and it will be the first of many the employees here is so nice and helpful and everything is very organized my boys decided to do the rock wall my youngest is terrified of heights but the gentleman doing the rock wall was absolutely amazing with helping him and talking him through it to Many thanks to him he's already talking about wanting to come back and try it again Definitely recommend this store!

Me and my girlfriend just recently went to this place for the first time and made some large purchases of bikes and shoes and other things, everyone there was extremely nice and informative about what they were selling . They knew what they were talking about and if they did not they gave there opinoion and said it was from there experience. We had one issue with a bike rack being used and missing a part not only did i get another at 20% off but got a gift card so i actually made money on it. Customer service is what its all about and these guys get 10 out of 10 i would recomend this store to everyone.

I received amazing help finding everything I needed here. Huge thank you to Amber, who spent over an hour helping me find hiking boots that fit perfectly and saved my feet! Also in response to some of the other reviews, I think it's great that this store does not sell guns. How nice it is to have an outdoors store that focuses on appreciating nature and not killing it.

Awesome store with a lot of high end gear and camping, hiking, cycling gear needs. Great selection of fishing gear and shoes. Everything you need for the outdoors is in this store.

I had the nicest shopping experience on my first visit. Megan was very nice & more than willing to answer my questions. I didn't go in to buy a coat but due to her kindness in answering my other questions I asked her for advice on a thin, but warm coat. She showed me a couple choices & I ended up buying one that I am very happy with. Thank you.

I really like this store. They offer so many brands that are not only high quality, versatile, and durable for active/outdoorsy people such as myself, but companies that are making a positive impact on the world by decreasing their carbon foot print, planting trees, using sustainable materials and so much more. The staff are all friendly, helpful and always available and asking if you need help with anything. I never have to wait in long lines to check out and they use paper bags instead of plastic for your purchase. If I had anything constructive to say it would be that sometimes staff can be a little overwhelming because someone is constantly asking if you need help with anything. Other than that, this place usually always has what you're looking for and their prices are pretty competitive in comparison to most other places where you can purchase the same things. They carry everything from clothing, gear for camping, fishing, cycling, skiing, exercise and so much more. If you become a member you can earn rewards for all your purchases but you also get information about all the classes and activities the store has to offer as well which is pretty cool too. Right now they are havimg bike rides every Wednesday and their website offers so much information on a plethora of different topics. Definitely a cool place to go if you are an active person or love the outdoors and you won't be disappointed!!

Great store! Wide variety of outdoors apparel and accessories to choose from. Customer service was great. Drove from Morgantown WV & was satisfied.

This store is great, but if your going to shop here, please understand that is not a discount, generic store. They have a mix of medium to high end hiking/outdoor gear so if your looking for a pair of $40 boots, go somewhere else. I read the reviews and most people are complaining about pricing and lack of hunting gear...well, good stuff cost money and this is apparently not a hunting store. You should not shop at a $100 store on a $3 budget and then complain - walk away and move on

Isaac in footwear was great. He was super knowledgeable about the products and very helpful! Went over to the fly fishing gear and got great service from Joe who had some great recommendations.
The products PL carries are top notch. If you are looking for quality products and a good selection, this is a great place to see all the high end gear in person.

Beautiful store. Quality products. Knowledgeable staff. I guess those looking for hunting gear didn’t know how to do a quick search of the company, Google and reading is hard for some around here. Maybe they don’t realize us people who like the outdoors have plenty of other choices of activities besides hunting. Great place to find your outdoor gear.

Shipped there on 6/12. Very well organized store, lots of associates to help us. Bought some lures, had an associate help me because I'm new to lures. Very friendly, spent lots of time talking to and helping me. Will definitely recommend to others and return myself.

I've been here multiple times and have had a great experience each time. Staff is helpful and want your feedback for future gear. (Even cottage companies) They broadcast a documentary on protecting public lands in store to bring awareness to our right as Americans to enjoy this beautiful gift that is our planet. Gear prices are typical I believe. Some gear you can be frugal about but good gear costs money especially if you are putting it to the test for days, weeks, or months at a time. Do your research about what gear fits your needs.

And remember to have fun and protect nature!!! Yeah!!!
