Never personally had a bad experience with the employees, turnover is high, but I believe this is do to the sketchy part of town it is, the customers can be super sketchy.

Went to the big apple, waited behind the person at the check out for 10 minutes before walking out of the store. The cashier let the lady buy scratch tickets and scratch them right there as she handed him one at a time, while I waited behind her and a lady behind me. Won't go back there for anything.
