The Proper Pig

It was my first time there. I had a pastrami sandwich on marble rye. It was delicious. I brought their bread pudding home. That was the best I have ever had. I would go back just to have it.

We had a couple of really tasty burgers here for lunch recently. It was the first time we had been there and we'll certainly go back again. We had the apple maple rum pork belly pops to start and then the absurd curd and boar-ing burgers for our main course. We enjoyed our first meal there very much.

The proper pig is so much more than a cool name with a dash of bacon. From the bacon cheesecake, to The Proper Pig signature cocktail with a bacon slice in it, it's any bacon lovers dream!
I drooled over my brisket, and we took a cheesecake home with us! Can't wait to go back soon!

My visit to The Proper Pig will definitely be one to remember. Upon sitting down outside (and yes, they have inside seating as well,) and looking at the menu, there are enough options to please just about anyone. I ordered the Smokin’ The Bird Sandwich with sweet potato fries, and it was absolutely delicious. Portions were good, I left plenty full. When a bee decided to bother a friend and I for our food, the waitstaff were kind enough to help move us to another table. And then it followed us again and they moved us inside. They were incredibly helpful and very understanding, all around just a great experience! I would highly recommend.

Ok People I absolutely Recommend the Proper Pig if you are in the Maine Waterville area. This place is awesome 👍 thumbs up for sure. Emily the Bartender was amazing and the head chef Mary wonderful food 🤤. The Mac n cheese 🧀 OMG to Die for i absolutely recommend. Their burgers delish, the Espresso dessert you are definitely gonna want to taste and their drink called "Chicks Dig It" wonderfully delicious 😋 make sure to order it. I know why they call it that but guys don't be afraid to order it because my husband liked it too! I am totally appreciative of Emily for her wonderful hospitality and amazing service. When you visit the Proper Pig make sure to ask for Emily behind the bar you won't regret it tell her Vivian sent you.

Absolutely delicious food. So many options! The Espresso martini was a favorite and the bread pudding was a perfect ending. Highly recommend. Great service and atmosphere here!

The waitress was engaged and got orders quickly. The appetizer came out perfect timing because we were hungry! The wrap was good and the burger was cooked well, the onion rings are my favorite thing about this place they are cooked to perfection and the breading on them taste great! Will for sure be reoccurring customers.

So far, this has been the best date night spot. The pork belly pops are on point every time. This place isn't just hit or miss. We have been here several times, and every time it's hit. Give it a chance if you are in the area. I assure you, you won't regret it.

First time and we all loved it! The atmosphere was super cool and clean, food was awesome as well as it came out pretty quick! Kid friendly with my 7 month old in the high chair! Great menu and fair priced for what you get! We got the potato skins, fried pickles and my husband and I split the boss hog burger with fries!

The food was delicious. The outdoor seating in the back was really cute. The espresso Oreo pie was absolutely delicious.

Everytime we come we try something new. It's all so good it's hard to pick a favorite. The staff is super nice and the atmosphere is really cool. It's one of our favorite local spots.

Always a great place for great eats. Family owned and operated. Love the Mac and cheese, which is decadent to say the least. Yum yum in the tum-tum.

The service is great and atmosphere is wonderful. The food is okay lots of homemade dressings and dipping sauce. Only been a few times in 3 years.

This is our new favorite date night restaurant! The staff and atmosphere are fantastic. We always order the pretzel & cheese appetizer because it's the best we've ever tasted! We've been here twice so we haven't tried everything on the menu yet, but we've always been over the moon with everything we get. Highly recommend Grandma's Lemonade if you're looking for a delicious adult beverage 😉

Excellent food and environment when I stopped in the other day. Ordered the triple double and it was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. I recommend the proper pig to anyone who is going to be in the waterville area.

Staff was friendly. We brought our infant and staff was very understanding and offered crackers to give her. Beer was good and it was their own brewed beer which was neat. Food was good as well. Definitely recommend!

The food here was amazing! In the service was quick and friendly, they have outdoor and indoor seating right now because of the pandemic. A definite new favorite on our list!

Stopped in for late afternoon appetizers and cocktails. We sat under the tent outside, which provides a nice outdoor dining experience. The food was amazing and drinks were perfect. I had a Bloody Mary and it was like a mini app with my drink, including bacon! 🥓 Yum. Highly recommend

This place was awesome and I’m not even a pork eater. Located downtown in an old brick building. I think it may have been a bank since there was a vault in the dining room. Enjoyed a delicious flight of their own beer. Ordered an a Veggie burger (haha) and my friend had The Propper Popper. Everything was delicious and plated beautifully. Clean bathroom and establishment with visible kitchen. I plan to return to try their happy hour menu.

Pleasantly surprised at Proper Pig lately. The food is much better than when I first experienced it. I've been back a few times during Happy Hour, and the food, and service were spot on! I love that they outsource local businesses such as Hillman's, and Morses! I will be back!
