South End Grocery

Love this store! The people who work here are super friendly, and they have a nice mix of staples and local food options. Today I bought fresh pineapple and ginger, plus some "root veg and dumpling soup" and four-cheese spinach lasagna which were both made at a local farm. Really cool, welcoming place run by people who clearly love good food :)

I like this grocery. They’ve got good frozen dishes, for eating later. I’ve yet to taste the food fresh from the kitchen. If it tastes like the “frozen-eat-later” items, I know it will be worth the money. I hope they’re able to grow and stick around. It’s a better use of the building than the old McD’s.

Great little grocery. They don’t carry a ton so don’t expect them to replace your usual market but everyone was super kind and the smoothies are delicious.

I've been shopping here since it opened and have always had a wonderful experience. The vegetables are fresh. They have bins of onions and garlic bulbs, ginger and mangos(when in season), lettuce etc. There is a dining area in the back where they prepare the specials of the day and freezers of meats, fish and frozen goods. They even have free food on the top shelf. I guess the only draw back is the fact that they're still waiting to get their EBT authorization, government at its finest. The prices are a bit high but if you live in the neighborhood they offer up to a twenty percent discount on your total. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. If you're a While Foods junkie you'll love this place. Thankfully they are in the area. Help them out. They're open Tuesday thru Saturday.

So I LITERALLY been in this store everyday for a whole week straight and I love it. I come in after the gym food always made fresh, The specials everyday may not be what I have a taste for that specific day but what I do get doesn’t miss and that’s honest. Don’t expect it to be like a ShopRite or Price choppers but for a black owned grocery store in the middle of the hood I get better priced grocery than I would at Walmart frfr. Everybody is super polite and on point with their customer service and it’s truly a beautiful thing to watch this store do good. If you give this store anything less than 4 stars you’re a complete hater. Definitely a go to.

The fired chicken was juicy, tender and perfectly breaded. The collard greens. We’re savory and delicious.

Stopped in for a quick lunch downtown, fast well priced and above all else very good

They have some good quality local products suitable for those on veggie/vegan diets. The Food for Life tortillas were crumbling on the first purchase and very moldy on the next. I am trying to return this $6.00 item but they are closed due to an emergency. They did not return my call or email!
