On 9/16/23 I went to this store for the very first time specifically looking for African clothing which they have at very reasonable prices. The owners make you feel welcomed and respected. I appreciated the owner letting me browse without pressure. This resulted in me selecting some beautiful items. The store also has a great selection of meats, fish, Caribbean and African seasonings, and other merchandise. If I could have given it 10 stars I would have. My only regret was that it took me so long to visit but it will not be my last time.
Before closing my review, I must address the negative reviews
which are obviously false and written from a deceitful and vindictive place. Please visit Majesty African Market and form your own opinion. You will not be disappointed.

They were amazing!! The duo there was so kind and made sure I got exactly what I needed. I'm so happy and I can't wait to continue doing business with them they are the One Stop Shop for really nice items.

The first thing you will notice when you walk into Majesty African Market is the bright and cheery smiles of, (whom I presume to be), the owners: Honey and her partner.
If you're looking for African ingredients, in quantities big and small, this place not only has an AMAZING selection, but the knowledge to aid any "westerner" like myself into each item's cooking processes. Honey is very knowledgeable and generous with her time in explaining things to her customers.
So far I've enjoyed the African Simmer Sauces they have jars of as the best intro into what you can expect with West African foods.
The sealed bags of Egusi Seeds, Palm Oil, and Fufu mixes are never not handy in my pantry. 1000% recommend people check their stuff out and chat with the owners.
As a side note, once more Westerners try this kind of food they will agree that it is undeniably amazing, sophisticated, and nuanced. This food is going to be all around you soon and when you try it, you won't look back.
*Warning: do not bring any ingredients to your nose to smell or Honey will tell you to stop!* :)

Wanted to take the time today to give a well deserving review for Majesty African Market after coming across a toxic customer that I’m sure will hop on here to give a negative review from what I witnessed today while purchasing groceries before a 6hr trip home to celebrate my dads birthday.

This grocery store is such a privilege for myself and anyone else curious to try out African culture/cuisine ingredients in Sacramento!

While very fortunate to be able to utilize their services and not have to ship from L.A, I stopped by to pick up some goods around 345PM on August 31st 2023, before starting my road trip towards my hometown as I mentioned.

As I entered the store, this lady walked in afterwards and immediately went to grab frozen items from the stores freezer and dumped them all on the owners marble counter without considering using the carts they provided. Seeing that puzzled me on her lack for contaminating the space we all share. Not to mention that she didn’t even close the freezer door. Her excuse for doing so was because her hands were full (face palm)… I mean.. she could have used her elbows or grab a cart in the first place but that’s just a lot of work for some, I’m
sure..

When the store owners kindly asked her to remove the items and place them in the cart so other customers can take precedence as needed, she revolted and went into a rampage (not letting anyone finish their sentence or speak). She even questioned my gender stating that “I’m not a man” because I didn’t defend her lack of respect for someone’s business.

Anyway, this is unfortunate to see and I’m glad they have cameras to back the type of trash they probably see on a daily. I’m looking forward to seeing this ladies review because of what she promised to post as I’m a witness to how terrible her personality was to the owners trying to reason with her. They were even nice enough to let her complete her purchase. I would have rejected her business just from how badly she disrespected the owners.

This store has thrived through the Covid times and everyone that has shipped there while I came in complied to the rules and engaged with the owners positively. Again, huge respect for the owners for dealing with her in such as positive way. <3

I cannot believe this place has been here 13 years and I had no clue. It's so clean, the customer service was excellent. They have all the fresh ingredients, drinks and meats needed for a yummy African/Carribean dish. There's also clothing and jewelry as well. My man and I will be coming here moving forward. THANK YOU!

I came to the store to by a present for my nephew. I was on a time crunch so I didn’t get to fully look around but I could tell the store was well kept and stocked. I was wonderfully greeted by the woman and man working there. They were very nice to my daughter as well. The woman helped me find the right size in the item I wanted and put it in a gift bag. I will definitely return to check out the rest of the store and I highly recommend if anyone is looking for a dashiki. They had many and lots of other clothing with gorgeous prints as well.

We've been getting into African and Middle Eastern cooking for a while, so we went to check this place out.

It's really only half a market, and half a clothing store, including shoes and jewelry. The market has many spices and snacks, and many dried beans, and oils.

What really got my attention was their meat freezer. They have goat, which can be hard to find around here!

The employees were nice and gracious.

The owners of this store are very honest and awesome. I found them only by chance and I must say I do not regret going there. It’s properly stocked and you can be rest assured that you’d get your money’s worth no cheating. I got an item there and she was honest to tell me that the supplier gave them some bad product so if I don’t mind I should check it and see if I got the good stuff so that I can exchange it. Her reason being that she would t want me to go home with a bad product. It really warms my heart so I will definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a Nigerian store in Sacramento. It is INDEED WORTH A TRY.
