Gem of a shop! Terry is incredibly knowledgeable of the area and his shop carries every you need. If you are in the area the shop is a must.

Was an awesome shop…however, it’s now closed! Found this out a few nights ago, when I attempted to stop in. Super bummed to see it totally empty! Another one bites the dust! So sad.

Friendly, Professional, Informative, and Very Knowledgeable. The folks here salt of the earth, and they provide so many essential services for the new and experienced angler alike. I spent almost an hour in the shop today getting some tying materials and ended up getting some really invaluable insight on fly fishing and tying. No matter what level of experience you have, I have no doubt that these folks can get you to the next level.

I have been doing business with A Marblehead Flyfisher and Terry for at least a decade. He keeps the store well stocked, the conversation light and informative. It’s always a pleasant and enlightening experience.

Great selection for a great price. The owner is very informative and shows a great interest with helping out customers, new or seasoned with fly fishing tricks and tips. If in the area I would highly recommend stopping by.

This one of those gems, that you hope to find if you are into fly fishing. I started going to A Marblehead Flyfisher when I was just starting to fly fish a few years ago, and every visit was like attending a college course on catching fish with a fly, casting, rigging, insects. I was never pressured into buying anything, quite the opposite. I have since done fly tying and casting lessons with Terry, and had him guide for me - every experience was top notch, professional, and an exceptional value. Love this store.

Awesome experience at this shop. New to fly fishing and needed advice in fly line. Terry spooled my reel for me and even better yet he explained the line to me and showed me the knots he used to attach my line. Terry definitely has a new life long costumer.

Best fly shop in tri-state area. Terry, the owner, always helpful with questions you may have. Been going 1st six weeks of the year, every year for fly tying classes for about 8 years.

Terry the owner was an awesome guy to deal with. Being pretty new to the fly fishing world it can be overwhelming but he patiently explained everything and helped get me what I needed.

This place is great! Terry and Lee are super helpful and friendly. If you need a lead on a place to fish just ask. They are always happy to provide suggestions on what is working out on the water. The sale bin of rods is worth a trip alone. I’ve purchased line and they will gladly switch your old line out.

Terry (and Lee) are knowledgeable, honest and fun! Passionate without a doubt. I make it a habit to stop in at least once a month; if not for supplies... I always learn a thing or two. Very approachable crew. And did I mention fun?!

I see another review of 1 star. I don't get it. I have been to an Orvis store ad got started with their free casting class having never fly fished before. I got the basic cast from them. Everything else I deal withTerry since I found this shop (unless I'm out of town). I am fairly new and these guys have taught me so much. I took two of their fly tying classes this past winter and have learned so much and am now competent in fly tying. I bought a starter set from them in which the rod has a lifetime warranty. They set it up and answer all my questions without leaving me feeling like I'm stupid or a bother. I get recommendations on flies to use and places to try fishing.Today I took a casting lesson from Terry and made light years of progress in an hour. Even walked away with the ability to double haul. The shop is well stocked. If they don't have it, they will order it for you. If you are new to the sport, this is a great place to start, You won't find better in this region. I have visited fly shops from Maine to Virginia, I haven't found one better.

The place is great. The employees are very knowledgeable, but most important honest. They sell you what you need, educate you on what is right for you. That, and they give great insights to spots. Great shop, and far more knowledgeable than a lot of the big box stores.

Marblehead is the old school fly shop that I love. Terry was extremely helpful and knows what he is selling. I loved talking fishing with him and will be back soon.

The shopkeeper provided detailed assistance with equipment and tactics for saltwater surf fly fishing over the phone. Knowledgeable and straight forward.

Walked in knowing nothing about fly fishing. I was immediately asked if I needed help with anything. They explained everything I needed to know and more. Everyone there is extremely knowledgeable as well as friendly.

Terry knows his stuff. I wish the top- water bass fly selection was better, but that's understandable considering their location.
