What a lovely coffee shop/cafe! The space is beautiful and lovingly designed. Lots of gorgeous little details inside. Overall has an airy and bright(lots of natural light) aesthetic. The patio is huge but perhaps still in progress as there were few tables and a huge open courtyard. The drink menu is simple and there were a few pastries, sweet and savory. I went on a Sunday morning around 11:20am til 1:30pm and it was completely full inside and all patio tables in use. Seemed like a lot of folks who were studying or working on their computers. The cafe was on the quieter side so would be good for focused work, but also okay for a 1-1 meeting. There were more options available for 1 or 2 people, and only a few seating options for a group larger than 2.

Stellar atmosphere, excellent coffee and tea offerings. Service is high caliber. I make it a goal to only rate places with 5 stars.

Their coffee is incredible. They've combined roasting and fermentation techniques to produce some unique and accessible single origin coffee.

The design and layout of their shop is incredibly warm, open, and spacious. They've done a stellar job.

It’s a spacious coffee shop with plenty of seating for you to do work, study, or lounge. I stopped by here once to finish some work, and I like how neat this place was. The staff are super friendly, and the service was 5/5.

This place is perfect for plugging in and enjoying some good coffee. I popped in a couple of times and had an iced oat milk latte and a cappuccino that were both high quality and exactly what I needed. It's very spacious, with indoor and outdoor seating, outlets everywhere (including on the patio), cozy seats, and good WiFi. The drink menu mostly sticks to the essentials, and they have a little pastry case. The coffee cake I tried was definitely above average for a coffee shop. I'd happily keep coming here.

I was super excited to try this new place. Im so glad that st. Louis is getting more fun spots like this. Fun vibe, and the coffee was delicious! I like that they’re starting out with a limited menu. You know everything on it is good then! I do hope they add more flavors like lavender, etc. Seating is limited (I went on a busy Saturday though). I’ll definitely be back!

Great place to study and do some work. Coffee was a bit bitter to my taste. Others might disagree. I enjoyed this place.I'll definitely be coming back! If you want to be productive in work, that's your place.Great atmosphere!

This is a great coffee shop. The coffee selection and the service are amazing. There is plenty of seats. The only negative, a testament to its success, is at times it can get really busy and it could be hard to find a place to sit. Other than that, I highly recommend this establishment to enjoy a good latte and the ambience.

Wishlist, hopefully they serve actual breakfast items one day. Food selection is very limited.

Quarrelsome Coffee fully opened up on 3.27.23 in StL between the Midtown area and Central West End. It's a high end coffee shop with a roaster on-site, and seems most akin to other local shops like Blueprint, Coma, or Comet. There are no food options at least starting out, but I would anticipate them doing very good business due to the location and the high quality of the coffee. A variety of espresso drinks and pour-over options are available, though the much cheaper drip coffee was also solid.

Other tid-bits
-Nice bathrooms
-Street parking
-Free wifi
-Fair amount of seating for differing group sizes

Come out and support this great new local business!

Quarrelsome Coffee is a great new addition to Central West End! They’re a bright and relaxing place to enjoy a finely crafted beverage. Their open concept gives the space plenty of room for booths and tables to work from, and their outdoor patio area is one of the few in town that have outlets for remote working.

Their coffee is roasted in house, and the beans are sourced from Central and South American countries like El Salvador, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, so you can expect a sweet slight acidic flavors ranging from fruity to caramel. I had an oat milk latte, as well as their El Imposible batch brew from El Salvador. Both tasted great, and I highly recommend using the oat milk with the latte as it adds a nutty flavor to the finished product.

Overall I’m happy they’re providing the community with great coffee and a wonderful environment to enjoy it in, and I will definitely be back!

My favorite coffee shop in St Louis. Excellent coffee. Great selection of beans from all over the world. Excellent espresso. The service is awesome. They have a beautiful inside as well, the only downside of the store is how popular it is so seating is a premium! I recommend this shop to everyone who visits STL

No need to be working this morning, I stopped for coffee on the way to breakfast. It was a cortado, of course. And it was perfect served in the proper short glass.

I spent an hour here - until the parking meter ran out - surfing the internet on their wifi and sipping at my excellent coffee.

Yum! Maple Spice Latte and cheese kolache.
No skim milk, but oat milk works.
Skilled barristas, friendly staff, nice vibe.

I had the Columbian espresso and I think it might have been the best espresso I've had in St. Louis... maybe ever. It was so incredibly flavorful. One of the folks in our group likened it to "the imperial stout of espresso", and I completely agree. No bitterness, just complexity and flavor. These folks REALLY know their coffee. The place was super hip looking, and I'll definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience!

Just five out of five every time. I live quite close to this coffee shop, and I frequent it often. My first experience here was one of true childlike delight. What drew me here in the first place was the obvious proximity, and pleasing stylistic choices of the architect and designer. Something about their font, the symbolism behind their tigered mascot, the unadulterated rapture when uttering the phrase “Let’s meet at quarrelsome.” Just a superb name for a seriously lovely café. The first beverage I bought here, eons ago, was a hot, oatmilk latte with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. I had it to-go. It was the most delicious latte I ever consumed, and from that moment on, I was hooked. I’m awash with embarrassment when I reflect upon my credit bill statement, as “Quarrlesome” is a charge that is not seldom, but rather quite frequent. No matter, I think, since I sometimes tip in cash the drink is, in essence, free of charge. This rhetoric caught up to me rather quickly, and I decided to take leave from my daily coffee runs for a brief, very solipsistic period between the season of autumn and winter. Alas! Spirits drove me back to this haven! I doled out my visits quite judiciously when I made my return. I simply couldn’t stay away! The staff is utterly and completely charismatic. It’s impossible to find fault in any of the common characters at this coffee bar. Each unique persona embodies a barista spirit; kindly and gentle in their service, generous in their smile, masterful in balancing professionalism and congeniality. My heart sings for each one. One special morning, I entered Quarrlesome at the dawn of their opening, entirely unintentionally. I had a long night prior, and on my dull and dreary walk home, I found myself at the stoop of their shop, walking in to a nearly empty store, still intoxicated from my morning stroll, and a multitude of tequila shots from hours earlier. Still, in a dreamlike state, I persevered and entered Quarrlesome to the delight of two sweet, kindly baristas (yes, 7 am, two members of staff seemed truly delighted to see me, perhaps a feign, but I embraced their warmth nonetheless). I have never known a human, yet alone two, to show such genuine sweetness at such a heinous hour. And while at their job! In other instances, I soloed a journey here where I spent a good deal of time reading and admiring the beautiful strangers that seem to percolate throughout the day. I ventured to try chai, dirty chai, matcha, oolong tea, and once, a cookie. Each new endeavor proved never to be in vain, but a lovely experience I only wish I could repeat with the same childlike newness as the first. Nevertheless, I’ve chosen my newfound drink of choice, a matcha latte with oatmilk, and I remain beyond satisfied. The vibesphere cultivated in this small haven is one of sanctity and beauty. Quarrlesome Coffee is a semi-oxymoronic name, as there is only peace and coffee in this sweet sanctuary.

A bit chilly inside today, bring a sweater or jacket.

Absolutely gorgeous specialty coffee. I had their featured Colombia espresso in a cortado (see images for my review, but it's fab) and the flavor absolutely shone through. They carry a small number of pastries from Knead, known for sourdough interpretations of pastry.

I'll be back when I'm in the area.

Nearly perfect coffee shop with lots of seating inside and out. Nice park next door also has a couple of shaded benches.

Only drawback is lack of food options.

My first time here, everything was great! It was pretty busy at 10 am but I found a spot to work. There is paid parking out front but I was able to find a place. I will definitely be back!

Conveniently open on July 4, they have 2 single origins available for espresso. Beautiful space, excellently crafted coffee, super cute cups. House was Ecuadorian, and I got the guest Costa Rican, which was so good we bought one of the last 3 bags to make at home! I don’t usually have pastries, but the bacon & cheese kolach was worth a carb splurge!

We had family visiting from San Francisco and we took them to all of our favorite coffee shops, Quarrelsome was their favorite. So much that they visited twice during their stay! My favorite is the espresso tonic and then I also order a seasonal kombucha and add the kombucha to my espresso once I have had a few sips, so good!
