Dorothy Lane Market

My hubby and I decided to stop and check out Dorothy Lane Market. We were both overwhelmed by all the delicious looking foods! Enjoyed a glass of Bill’s Blend red wine, and a pint of Great Lakes Christmas Ale on tap. We found dips, pretzel bites, cheeses etc to take home. We also learned that the meat/seafood department will prepare certain items for you with no charge. It was a fun & friendly experience. I was happy to see so many vegan/vegetarian options. The salad bar looked fresh and stocked too. Highly recommend!

Whenever I return to the Dayton OH area, I make a stop to one of the DLM locations.
They have exotic foodstuffs from around the world that are hard to find or even unattainable from other stores.
This location at the Oakwood/Kettering border is the original and still the best (IMHO).
The prices are a bit higher but worth the overall experience you.
Sadly, this location is no longer open 24 hours a day (perhaps a holdover from COVID days?).

Keep up the unique and fantastic experience that makes DLM great! 😀

It’s amazing how many delicious items are found under one roof. Whether you’re in the market for a cupcake or need to grab a bottle of whipped cream, this is the place to go. Bargain hunters beware. It’s more about convenience and quality than cost. You can buy lots of fresh ready made dishes and sides as well as raw ingredients.

DLM is a gourmet grocery store. High end products and plenty for allergies. I love their sushi case. Reasonably priced and beautiful sushi. Better than some restaurants around! They have a pretty impressive cheese and dessert case as well! There is coffee right as you walk in, but I have never stopped there. I go here mostly because of all the gluten free options.

Higher cost on some things but worth it. Fresh produce, great meat counter. Gourmet coffee and excellent bakery. Employees are very nice and always friendly.

I've been in the Dayton area for 3 years and finally visited this local market today!!! This is my new favorite!!! Wonderful fresh breads, an amazing deli and meat counter, great selection of everything else. The store employees really made my visit a great experience! If you haven't been I highly recommend visiting!

Boars Head Meats, Heavenly Hams, and Tons of Delicious Treats from their Bakery.. I prefer to go here versus other Grocery Stores Because it's Always Clean, Top Shelf Items, and A Great Staff to Bring it all together.

First time going to Dorothy Lane Market and I was so amazed by the clean/clear atmosphere.
I only tried 4 flavors of macarons:
- Chocolate coffee.
- Strawberry.
- Pistachio Strawberry.
- Strawberry Chocolate.
I can't decide which flavor is top 1 because all of the flavors are so delicious and fresh.
This Market has every section that you could imagine (Bread, Sushi, Sweets, Salad bar, Dish section, Butchery, Seafood section etc..). Each section is organized to perfection and eveyone was really helpful.
Next time I will try their sushi as they have some many varieties with the ability to customize your own roll.
I can't wait to be back.

My go to spot for all my premium goods - the kinds of things that are worth paying extra for. Prime meat, fancy cheese, fresh baked goods are all worth the price tag here. Their bakery is probably the best in the area in terms of quality and selection of bread, pastries, and sweets. They're premade salads, sandwiches, and sides are always great for an easy meal. Get there early in the day if you want the best of the best. High quality selection of wine and beer as well. While they do have everything you would need to fill your pantry, I would get your staples somewhere cheaper and save DLM for the ingredients you really want to shine. Very curious what they will do with space they are developing next door...

This is a great location. I’m a huge fan of their large selection and the environment/experience they’ve cultivated. The market is warm, welcoming, and creates a small town, healthy grocery store experience. I’ll return to this location each time I’m in the area.

Dorothy Lane Dessert Haul included lemon meringue pie, pumpkin killer brownie, caramel cream pumpkin cookie, pumpkin spice cupcake, eggnog, chocolate mousse. We sampled all and the pumpkin brownie was #1, the cookie was #2, chocolate mousse was #3, the cupcake ranked #4 and was not dry but wasn't moist either. The lemon meringue filling was off in taste and had a mealy texture. The eggnog was delicious!

I love DLM! It's like a kid in a candy store--there's everything you can imagine and it's displayed so nicely that you want it all! On Saturdays, you can even shop while sipping a glass of wine!

What a great grocery store. Loads of fresh organic fruits and veggies. Salad bar, barista, deli with loads of good food. A bit pricey but worth it.

We're glad to see that DLM has a large selection of fine chocolates. If you're a chocolate snob, then definitely check them out!

The first DLM store. It is the smallest and oldest of the three stores. But the cleanliness is the same as the other stores. Maybe it's just me but since they are smaller the is service much better. The brand that this family owned business had developed is well-thought-out. High end store and yes a little higher prices. But they stock things you can't get most places. Go to the coffee shops as they serve Boston Stocker Coffee. Pick up a killer brownie too!

Gourmet, speciality, international, local, organic, and everyday items. Great deli, soup, and meat counters with standard and rotating items. My main things are organic/natural/humane meats and eggs. Also cheeses and vegetables. When I want a rare sweet treat, I go to the bakery. Get a club card and sign up for the snail mail paper newsletter to get bonus points coupons. Then redeem points for discounted items or other stuff.

Love this location and the friendly staff! Try out their macarons from the bakery (pistachio is the best, IMHO). Great produce, awesome salad bar!

DLM-We are pleased to have several wonderful markets here in Dayton-Oakwood-Kettering--and DLM is certainly one of them. Dorothy Lane Market prides themselves on service and they exemplify the word service. Beautiful bakery products, finest meats cut to order, fish, seafood all right there. They are a premier market and have been in business since August 1948-They know the business, and they lead the way in the best possible products, service, and environment in Dayton.
They also carry many foods prepared for you to take home and enjoy, as well as all the favorites at the holiday times.

Every location has been excellent and well-worth the visit and money. Excellent food, fresh sushi and produce. I love going here.

I’m from out of town and visited Dorothy Lane Market on the recommendation of a dear college friend who lives here. Everything was spectacular, but what makes a place stand out is the service. The following people were incredibly friendly and helpful, and they really made this wonderful store stand out: Taylor, Bob, and Holly, check out; Darrin and Jennifer, bread; Laura, wine; Maria and Liam, cheese; Jenny, prepared foods; and Mike, meat and seafood director. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area.
