Big 5 Sporting Goods

It's my favorite place to go and get Non-Slip shoes. Every time I need new Non-Slip shoes, they always on a sell of some sort. I use these shoes regularly for work days, and this is my best plug I know of. Also had a very nice experience with the atmosphere and people who worked there. Very helpful people.

I like this chain because it offers a wide variety of products used by sport enthusiasts as well as casual and sport shoes. The location and prices are excellent including the customer service

Discounting period you could get good quality and price.

I went in to try and find at least a pair of tennis shoes and not even sure if I was going to find what I was looking for since I had already been shopping for a few weeks online and in-store. Thankfully I found a pair and I actually ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes really nice ones just my style. I was surprised at the great deals they have on shoes. The staff members are great and very helpful and so nice!! What a relief... Very satisfied customer 😃!

Great selection of merchandise! A lot of fun to walk around this store and browse their stuff. Saw many different kinds of shoes I wanted. Was hard to choose. Most shoes run from $20 to $50 or so. They have frequent sales and coupons. Saw some nice looking swimsuits and trunks on sale.
You can probably find what you need here! Good location and pleasant helpful staff. We'll be back.

Went here for kids shoes. Few options available but if you just want simple shoes then this is ok. Friendly staff and no complaints.

Tl;dr - Great prices and many choices!

Came here to buy a Spalding basketball since NBA will be switching to Wilson's in Fall 2021. Wanted to pick one up while it still has NBA logo on it. Lots of options to pick from (types and sizes). Ended up choosing a white marble basketball. Probably the coolest design I've ever seen. Also, $2 cheaper than Target.

I have been doing business with Big 5 for many of my 52 year's and I can not praise this location or it's mananger for tonight, Jon, and his team enough. I was returning a faulty product because I chose to buy the low end model and not the best quality one I probably should have picked off of the shelf next to it at time.
I was immediately greated walking in the door by the ladies working at the front register on my way in and asked if I would be needing help with anything, took two minutes for them to call the first manager who's name I wish I had gotten, identify the problem and let me know that I would have a credit waiting at the register at checkout.
I picked out a pair of boots I've been needing with the help of a very large (college football ?) salesman (do we still call them that ? I'm old, LOL) who I think was doing some stocking yet saw me walking towards the boots and had made it his job to have the pair I needed from the back in again 2 minutes, this crew is quick !

Back to register, small glich with what I thought the boots were priced at and in another two minutes Jon was on the job, at register and I think using the opportunity to multitask by taking care of me and training what I assume was a new employee on how to do this type of specific transaction on the register, does he get two paychecks for that ?

This team is obviously to me, a business man and small business owner of several businesses over the year's, very much ready and in tune to handle the holiday season rush, my needs required the assistantance of three different departments and together this team of Big 5 employee's, working separately yet together had me back in my vehicle quicker than getting a burger.

What I was most impressed with is in my brief conversation with Jon he was very familiar with some of the Big 5 history, especially with the Boy Scouts of America, and their history and also had me leave very assured that when I bring some young men by as soon funds are available in our account he will help me to outfit them with some boots they will be needing, and his product familiarity is much better than my past experience some Big 5 management, though they weren't bad at it, he tops them in my opinion.

I also appreciate that Big 5 lately has offered a lot more of a selection in camping gear which is growing rapidly in popularity, and yes, you can buy some cheap fall apart stuff here also available at Walmart, Amazon and Target for about the same price but you can also choose to buy the high quality brand of the same item at a fair price, and the choice is yours, just remember, Big 5 didn't build it, and sometimes cheap will work and others it won't and it's up to you to know your needs and application, Big 5 can't plan your life, Giggle !

I can not see some of the other reviews as true, rude staff ? what time were you there, 3 AM and they wouldn't open the door ?

Guy with the shotgun problemo ? I'm a marksman, and as non professional not on a team I know cheap arm's and good one's, did you get the $200 "special" ? And defective arm's should be shipped by you to the manufacturer in any state, not returned to the store, and your right, this states gun laws are ridiculous, thankfully corporations like Big 5 want to protect our second amendment rights, your review really bothered me, it's ignorance of gun law's and liabilities by their owners that's a big part of the problem, not a Big 5 problem, maybe you contact your state assembly ?

It's funny, I used to slam stores and their employees on my bad day's, then I realized, that was mostly my problems.

And I do hope that Big 5 keeps their eye on Jon, because if he stays and isn't trained and promoted into regional management you can send him to work for me, and I am sure I would prosper, by my experience.

This store got remodel and it looks better. We like comming to this big 5 we came to look and bought some tennis shoes and a knive.
