Toolen's Running Start

The bad review about not being able to return worn shoes? They tell you the no return policy - upfront. You can get an exchange, there's also a big sign at the register. And they say you cannot return shoes if they appear worn on the bottoms. I brought my Hokas back and exchanged them for a pair of Brooks Ghost 17, that fit better. The sales guys are super patient and wait on you. They're not off playing on their phones like a lot of other places. Their customer service can't be beat. You'd need to be an extremely rude and difficult customer to leave unhappy. Unless you can't follow simple instructions about returns.

What a great show shop. I am not a runner but will run on occasion for charities and they always have what I need. They also took care of my son's running gear needs when he was running cross country in high school. Toolen's has it all covered, clothes, gear, supplements, and of course, an amazing selection of shoes.

Absolutely great place set in a plaza amongst other stores where you can buy high-quality shoes as well as other much other apparel. This family-owned business is very accommodating and has the friendliest staff. They are active in the community as well as having the store with a variety of shoes and apparel available. It is nice to go into a business and be accommodated by the family that owns it. Wonderful people and a wonderful place!

What a experience for a shoe store. Was helped quickly and worked with me to find the perfect shoe for standing on my feet 12+ hours a day. I love my new shoes will be back for some non work shoes

Amazing staff! As background, I'm by no means an expert runner (10-12 miles a week) but I do like good shoes as I'm getting older and have one back surgery under my belt. I typically find a style that works and stick with it until they change the fit and I have to buy a new version. When I walked in today the staff made me feel immediately welcome and got to helping me as if I was a star athlete. I explained my running style and after a gait analysis, they brought out the first shoe. It was a perfect fit but just to be sure, they brought out 3 others, explaining why they were different and encouraging me to walk around the store and try them each out. The staff was attentive, without hovering, and allowed me to evaluate each shoe without being pushy. You could tell they really want you to have a good experience and a good fit. While I was walking around the store, a couple other customers came in with different needs and different fitness journeys, and the staff matched their needs independently. You can tell they know their merchandise and match you to the right shoe. Best of all, they were fast and had good stock (even for my big feet) and I had the perfect shoe in 20 minutes. If you're going to invest in good shoes, make sure they are the right ones for your needs and give this shop a try.

I love Toolens! They got me into the right pair of shoes and my knee pain has been gone ever since! Even with training for my marathons. They are helpful and have become more like family as I frequent their store buying my gu and whatever else I need for my running adventures! Thanks Toolens!!!

Good family run store. Somehow Mike managed to multitask and help three of us all at once, quite skillfully and efficiently. Analyzed our arch,feet and gait. Had us try multiple types and walk around to get a feel for the fit and comfort. Also recommended ways to tie the shoelaces to make it help your particular issues. Very helpful and glad I was recommended to come there. Bought a pair for running and got great advice overall. Good military discount also. No masks required.

Extremely friendly and attentive service. I normally order shoes online, but they showed me why I should come in person. They knew the brands they sell and the features of different models. They had me try on 4 different shoes and were very patient with me bouncing back and forth on different options. They do a great job on making their customers feel as if they are the only one in the store while even helping other customers. Great shop. I will be back.

We were just here and GBby assisted us today with a pair of tennis shoes and sandles. She was SUPER knowledgable and oh so kind. We will for sure be bringing all of our business back to this store as it the place to go to get shoes if you have issues with your feet and need something specific. Thanks Gabby.

Christine was very very helpful!!! She helped me pick out which shoes fit me the best and the most comfortable ones for me too!!! Andrew was also was nice too!!! I bought a pair of the Hoka One shoes and they are way better then the Puma's that I just bought a couple of weeks ago!!! It was well worth the drive!!! I will most definitely be back !!! Hands down to these two great employees for making my holiday weekend the best ever!!!

Excellent customer service. They listen to your problems and help you find the right shoes. Mine are I have fractures in both ankles and tendons pulled. I went in today as a repeat customer to buy the same shoes in a dif color. I stand on concrete as a nurse 40-50 hours a week. Support this small business. You won't be disappointed!!!

Extremely knowledgeable people and a good selection, especially of the shoes. I went in for better quality running shoes. When I walked in my knees ached from running on the treadmill, after a short conversation and measuring my feet, a suggestion of several shoes was made. I tried on a number of shoes and chose the one that felt the best. When I walked out of the store, in my new shoes, my knees didn't ache. Just the change in shoes alleviated the knee pain and got me back on the treadmill comfortably.

Started having bad pains in my foot last week at work. I walked into Running Start. They greeted me immediately asked me some basic questions and brought me some shoes to try on. I immediately fell in love with the shoes i was trying on.

They actually cared about what they were selling me. They wanted me to get the best shoes for my feet.

I was in and out within 20 mins! They were so quick and so nice.

I will definitely be buying all my shoes from here for now on!
