Hierophany & Hedge

Walking through the door was like walking into another world. This was the most magical experience. The shop workers were dressed spiffy and announced this was an interactive shop so we could touch and smell things. Such a cozy and fun atmosphere. I may even make a three hour commute just for this experience in the future. I purchased a wooden music box that I’m looking forward to putting together. It was wrapped with the daintiest details and so fun to open. Can’t recommend this store enough!

I found out about this little shop through Instagram, and their store hours for this week just happened to align with my schedule perfectly on my drive back home from visiting family.

I am so happy that I made the small detour to come here today. Words cannot even begin to describe the aura the place gives, not to mention the kindness and hospitality of the owners.

Everything I purchased was very lovingly packaged, as shown in the photos. They even put a traditional wax seal on one of them, and they gave me a token to use at their shop in the future or to keep as a souvenir.

This place was great. Lots of neat items. I really enjoyed reading the descriptions on all the jars. The staff was very helpful also.

The store hours are a little wacky. So make sure to check website before heading there.

When it first opened I thought it was either some kind of social experiment or some theatre kids running a magic shop. I've been going for years and I still don't have an answer to that one. Augur and Coil are always so attentive, sweet, and accommodating. This is honestly the best magic shop in this area, and I would know because I've been to all of them. 😅 the variety and quality of goods never ceases to amaze me, and every time I think I think I've gotten everything I can think of from there, they get like 30 new things I like. 😅🤣

Everything about this place is 🤌 *chefs kiss*. It’s an absolute MUST visit, the curated collection, the owners, the atmosphere, all of its amazing and phenomenal quality. I think my bank account is the only thing that could ever have a negative word about this place lol!

I felt like I was stepping into a Harry Potter film as I approached this shop while visiting town.
Not only was it beautiful and imaginative, but the employees were also so sweet and informative.
I got to let my inner child out here and loved exploring all the different collections consisting of books, wands, minerals, and so much more.

The owners of this place are so helpful. I asked them a ton of questions and they had the answers to everything. They were very knowledgeable and eager to help. Also the shop was just beautiful. I also attached photos of what I bought. I loved the added touch of the wax seal

I didn't even have to step in the store to know I was instantly in love. This magical place is full of odd, esoteric, little treasures in the form of books, wands, tarot cards, and more. The service that Coil and Augur provide is excellent. If you're anywhere in the area, please go check this little gem out!

This is the magic shop of my dreams! Being in this shop is like experiencing the fantastical ideas from your childhood of what an old magic shop would be. The proprietors make the visit in as magical as the surroundings and goods with their knowledge, friendliness, and style.

There are no words to properly describe how amazing this shop is! In fact, there are no photos to describe how amazing this shop is either. I would suggest visiting and being surprised by the wonderment of the space, rather than spoiling the experience by looking at other reviewers photos. Don't let your digital overlords ruin what little magic is left in the world!

An absolute treat to be able to visit Hierophany & Hedge. Whether you just finished Harry Potter for the first time, or have been a practicing witch for years, you will find something you need. I couldn’t have loved this place more ❤

The staff here is always so wonderful to interact with. They are knowledeble, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile! The shop itself is always presentable, fully-stocked with wonderful items, and is such a local treasure! Will always shop here!

Super cool witchy shop for practioners of all kinds. Super friendly and very knowledgeable people. They also dress really nicely. Would definitely recommend visiting. We will definitely return. Due to short operating hours it does get crowded. But totally worth it. Will be excited to see their expansion when that happens. Hope they stick around for a long time.

All of the love, magic, time, elbow grease, and material resources that Augur & Coil put into renovating this beautiful historic Covington building really paid off. With painstaking attention to detail and impeccable taste, they've created a space that seems it must have always been there, and filled it with a very thorough variety of candles, cartomancy decks, stones, wands... really, trying to give a comprehensive overview of their inventory was a fool's errand, but if it's magical, they'll either have it or be able to direct you to it - and several of their items are locally sourced.
From being greeted with Augur's impressive memory for both faces and conversations, to browsing items labeled with Coil's beautifully handwritten tags, to being sent home with items packaged like a present you've given to yourself (but hate to tear into!), every visit is a treat that I'm so grateful to have been directed towards.
If I understand correctly, their first anniversary is coming up on May Day; I can't wait to see how they grow.

I came here for a black candle, I told the lady my concerns for needing a black candle for protection and she listened and didn't look at me like I was weird for my concerns. I was told black candles help protect and ward off negativity or bad thing coming your way. Well I got a black candle made with bees wax. Well it worked, its helped me ward away allot of my reaction to the negativity and continuously carrying it with me. Bringing things home with me, but the black candle I got has helped me so much. I thank it every day. I'll be back that's for sure because I believe in it's power now. Thank you ❤🙏🏽👏🏽

The most beautiful little shop you will ever see! I can’t urge you enough just to stop in and take a look around. The care put into their display and products is amazing. I love how small and personal the shop is as well, and how knowledgeable and kind Augur and Coil both are! So pleasant to talk to, and happy to help with any and all of your magical needs. I am so happy this store exists, and that so many have came to experience the magic! (Also, their packing is done with such care, and is so beautiful you almost don’t want to open it)!

I've gone to a lot of witchy and metaphysical stores but this one is by far the best! Selection of goods is top notch and even includes gear for Dungeons and Dragons. Owners were very nice and talked with me about my recent trip to King's Island, as I was wearing a T Shirt. I bought a couple of books and a scarf and they were lovingly wrapped up and tied with a wax seal. Hours were odd when I was in town, like 6-8pm on the day I went, but well worth the visit. I will be coming here again next time I'm in town

This shop was beautifully curated and while very crowded it was a treasure trove of the enigmatic and esoteric. The staff were very friendly even though they were very busy and no one was rushed through. It was nice to see the same care and attention being given to all their patrons.

First visit with some friends while we were out Christmas shopping. Very cool, cute, quaint shop. To me, it's a place you go into knowing what you're looking for, I enjoyed looking around.
