Urban Value Corner Store

Every Sunday, right after church, my girlfriend and I have a tradition. We make a detour to our favorite local store in search of a refreshing Icee, usually it has always been sweet tea but that was back when my son Zachary Jr. was with us. (He’s still kickin he’s just at college now.) It's become a ritual, a sweet treat to reward ourselves after a week of hard work. But today, luck wasn't on our side. This sunday there was an out of order sign on the icee machine and my heart just sank.

I let out a sigh, realizing our beloved Icee was not within reach this time. But Ivan, the one and only, the legend, who always had my back, noticed my longing expressions. He came over and said, "I'm sorry about the Icee machine. It's being repaired, but I've got something else for you."

He led us to a cooler filled with a variety of chilled beverages. With a twinkle in his eye, Ivan suggested that we try some sweet tea once more, it might not be an Icee but it’ll do the trick.

And lord was he right, with the old faithful in hand, me and my girlfriend gathered near the store's entrance, basking in the warm sunshine. We laughed, shared stories, and sipped on our cold drinks. It didn't take long for us to realize that it wasn't about the Icee machine after all. It was about the love, laughter, and the cherished moments we created.

As we left the store that day, I glanced back at the out-of-order sign on the Icee machine. It reminded me that sometimes life doesn't go as planned, but it's in those unexpected moments that we discover new joys and appreciate the simple pleasures around us.

I love this store. I can find just about anything I need at the last minute without having to go to a large store. They are always well stocked, clean and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It’s a personal experience if you visit often, they become like friends. Lauren is by far the best and I look forward to seeing her when I go in. She always has a smile and makes my day!!

The GM(Alex) works just as hard as the employees, he's definitely a hands on boss because he is there anytime there's an issue - not just his regular work hours. The store is well stocked, clean and they definitely listen to the resident's interest. Everyone always greets the customer when they walk in, which is nice too.

This place is very nice and so good because it’s close to the pools in this area!! Easy to get snacks/drinks. Logan is the sweetest hardworking worker i’ve seen since going there! She needs a raise, love her.
