Athearn Trains

Athearn products are my favorite, because they're not toy-like as Bachman's, or expensive like Atlas. When I was growing up, they used to be in a box, and it had a few pieces to assemble which it was a lot fun to assemble.

Love these products i don't have any of the new products but i do still have quite a few blue box locomotives
There still dc but i will eventually make them dcc but yeah great product especially the late 80s and early 90s blue box stuff i have tons of kits done

Best supplier of model trains. I like the photo of the Atlas, Walthers and Bowser boxes!

Customer service is hit or miss. Last time I asked a simple question it was like pulling teeth. The rep actually asked the question back to me (they didn’t forward my question to another person, they straight up asked it back to me). If I knew the answer to my questions I wouldn’t be asking them. Never did get an answer to my final question. Will probably be avoiding buying their products in the future. Rolling stock will not accept micro trains couplers either, so that’s a pretty big reason to not buy from them as well.
