Chaaste Family Market

Needed a dish for a family potluck, so I looked for places I have bookmarked on the way to my sister’s house. So happy Chaaste was on my list. I really only tried a few dishes, 50 lumpia, some lechon and Turon which they gave us to try. Lumpia was some of the best I’ve ever tried. Lechon was really good too, just wish it was warmer, but I get it. Will lose the crispiness if reheated so late in the day. Will try again soon. Service was off the charts! Friendly when I called in the order and super friendly when I went to pick up. Had a great chat with owner before they sent me off with my order and free turn sample! Forgot to take pictures of good, because everyone just ate it up so quickly. Will post more pics next time.

Ordered a bunch of lumpias and they were on-time with the order. They were so goood. Really chill staff and great food. Halo halo was out of this world.

Nice, little market with a hot food area to the side. The person behind the hot food counter was incredibly helpful with explaining what the dishes were and put together a combo plate for me. Even gave my wife and I a couple little samples! I’d definitely come back to try more of the hot food. Loved the BBQ chicken.

If you ever want to be the life of the party then I recommend you get the lumpia party tray for all your party gatherings. It came with sauce on the side and was hot when I came to pick it up! You do have to call ahead but trust me…the whole tray will be eaten(it’s that delicious). The owner was super nice and welcoming. You can really feel the family owned vibe here. I want to come back and try their other food options like their flavored turon!

Good place for Filipino food. They have a good selection and food taste fresh. The small market has a good selection of the essentials for snacks and dishes.

i have yet to try more of their ulam, but their halo halo is the best, and their barbecue and turon is bomb!! the family is so welcoming, and the inside is truly an authentic filipino vibe. wish they had some seating but overall i enjoy coming here everytime 💖

ask about different flavors of turon if it isn’t too busy. the best dish after several visits is clearly the taro leaves in coconut milk.

ask about fried bangus too, a bone-in fish with true exceedingly delicious sea flavor. they sell out often, worth repeat visits so you can have one.

I reached out to Chaaste Family Market because I was planning a Memorial Service for my mother up the road at Mountain View Cemetery and wanted to make sure we had some authentic Filipino food for the guests who were mostly Filipino. Abe and Gabe were both awesome and made sure I had everything I needed and more and even delivered to the venue. All the guests loved the food especially the bomb Ube Turon. I can't thank them enough.

I saw such positive reviews of this market esp the hot bar that I had to check it out, being curious about Filipino food but not having had many chances to try it. Luckily this is the perfect place for a newbie like me as the staff are incredibly welcoming and willing to explain the dishes. My plate of noodles, eggplant stewed with other veggies, and the chicken adobo were packed with flavor. Delicious. Plus the nice person who dished up my food threw in what I thought was a piece of lumpia, but when I bit into it at home, I was treated to something so crispy, caramelized, and unlike anything I've had before. I think it must be the turon I've been reading about. It was incredible. Five stars for the food and the friendliness of this neighborhood market.

Not that there's a lot of competition, but they serve the best halo halo and turon in Pasadena. Friendly service, and good food, but a little pricier than you'll find in West Covina or Eagle Rock.

I love homemade food and this place makes food as if you just sat down at a Filipino grandma's house. Loved the adobo and curry. But the highlight was the lumpia. I ate a dozen without even blinking. Amazing food ! A wonderfully family owned store and hot food establishment that has been a gem of Pasadena for over 30 years!!!

The best authentic Filipino turon and all traditional Filipino foods that can make you feel home. Very nice family store and great people who make you feel welcome. Excellent!

Absolutely amazing place. Family owned and operated, legit products from the islands, home made cooking to be found daily, the sausage is always amazing, lumpia(Phillipine eggrolls) are so good, for dessert the fried plantain treat is a must try. The workers are always a great vibe and the amazing kitchen staff never stops working 💪. The flan is next level, the garlic peanuts are delicious... basically can't go wrong here 🤷 parking is tough sometimes but this really is a Los Angeles gem, the ready to eat hot food is amazing and the workers have no problem explaining anything you don't know or haven't tried. Love this place and the legit family of workers who service this place 👏

Wonderful little store. Feels family run and if you're looking for some good Filipino family style food to take home warm and ready to eat, then this is a great spot! Super friendly people working here and love the food. Stumbled in and was not disappointed. I'll be back for more!

Just finished having lunch, and I'm hooked. The family that runs it are sweet, friendly, and inviting. For someone real new to Filipino food, I was impressed. I had the Chicken Adobo, BBQ pork, rice and skewers. All fantastic and simple dishes that simply taste great. Come with a big appetite/heart and you'll leave well fed and taken care of.
