Gelson's Sherman Oaks

I live next door to Gelsons, so it’s very convenient to run in for a few things. It's a little pricey, but they carry many brand names and a good selection of quality items. Great bakery, deli counter, soup & salad bar with hot food dishes available. Got a complete Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings, without going to a restaurant or cooking all day over a hot stove. Which was great, since I was on deadline with major script revisions and could keep on working while I enjoyed a nice holiday meal. Everyone who works there are helpful and really nice, so it’s a pleasure to shop there.

Helpful courtesy desk - walked me over to find the plush/stuffed animal Valentine cakes that I was looking for. I bought 6 of them and the lady helped me at the self checkout stand. The ladies at the pizza station warmed up my pizza slices and were very sweet and kind.

The way my lunch meat & cheese were packaged. I was provided an internal plastic for storage. Pleastly surprised. I was approached by the produce gentleman who struck up a nice conversation. Nice that people can talk to you and be nice. Hard to come by today. Highly recommended this location for its products & hours open. Manager & most workers nice & extremely professional.

This location is clean with both outdoor and indoor seating areas. What I appreciated was that the cashiers would actively get your attention to let you know that their check out lines have little or no waiting. I haven't seen this before.

Awesome, best seafood in the valley. Best produce and fruits also. Great staff and administrators. We’ve been shopping here since the onset. My wife insists we shop here. Thank you for being such an awesome market!

The cashier was very friendly and the lady in the produce department was very helpful. I was able to find what I needed, and my chicken was delicious.

I had the wrong day to pick up my Thanksgiving dinner. I went over to Gelsons in a panic and they took care of me and let me pick my meal up today instead of waiting till thanksgiving day. They were terrific and customer service even called me back after I left a frantic message and I told them that the store in Sherman Oaks was taking great care of me. It will be a happy Thanksgiving after all.

I have going to this market since they opened. Years ago this was Hughes Market...long ago...
I really like the employees. Very welcoming and polite to me. When l worked l used to go for lunch often with my friend that worked in the same building. We both loved the salad bar and hot food station. Always very clean.

The efficiency and grace with which the manager on duty (whose name I foolishly did not get)
cleared the path for my participation in the Rewards Program after being a Gelson's customer for over 45 years! She was relentless and a real credit to Gelson's.

Wow; if you’re into whole bean coffee this is the store for you. Seriously impressive selection and prices, too! Hard-to-find labels are carried here. Third-wave roasters from $9-$17 a bag, with several brands I’ve not seen priced lower elsewhere. Also—competent staff and clean store.

It is always a pleasure when I shop at Gelsons. Though I obviously have come there for the groceries and meats and bakery goods, it is the people of Gelsons that are an equal part of why it is so special.

I love the attention to service and cleanliness at my local Gelson's. They have a great selection of gluten free foods, which is a necessity in my household. The fresh food counter offers some of my favorite seasonal eats and the produce is almost always superior to the other nearby grocery stores. I don't buy all of my staples here as the cost can exceed other nearby grocery stores but I do prefer some items here for quality and convenience.

At this Location I find the items that I am looking for! The freshest fruits and vegetables to complete my cooking needs. The Staff is friendly and courteous make my trip to the market pleasant.

My favorite store in the chain. It is a perfect store. Love the butcher shop the best.
