Fresh Stop Produce and Market

Been hearing they have some great sandwiches so stopped in for lunch. First, I should mention this is a nice little market with all the essentials plus some prepared foods to go. In the back is a deli counter where they accept orders for sandwiches. We ordered the Italian. Service was fast and friendly and the sandwich was spectacular. Fresh Italian bread stuffed with typical italian meats, fresh veggies, and hot peppers. We'll be back to sample some more...

My husband has been bringing me home Slice Shop everyday since he found the place. We have another favorite pizza place in the area but think Slice Shop just might top it! The other day he told me they have subs next door. My husband brought me the Italian, I was hooked. Today we actually went in and dined in. I got my sandwich and he got his pizza, we both got what we wanted all in one spot. The grocer has so many items and is way bigger than it looks on the outside. New favorite place!

Customer service and front-of-house was awesome. This place is so much cooler than Target! I like the produce quality and prices, and I'd rather support small business than a chain store.

Amazing local grocery & deli! Great selection of fresh produce, meats, and an endless supply of pantry items. You can almost shop for just about everything here, and it’s healthy. The subs are delicious too! Happy to shop here.

Fresh Stop is the GOAT. The thing I will miss most about moving out of Lakeview. Surprisingly complete grocery section - we often find ethnic ingredients here that aren’t at Mariano’s or Jewel. Their sub sandwiches and burgers rival the best I’ve had in Chicago.

And the staff are not only friendly but they’re also legitimately good people. Several times I have seen them help out some of the poor or crazy folk who tend to wander in, even though I’m sure it happens often.

They seem to have everything I ever need as a basic grocery store - don't be fooled by it's tiny size! I was blown away this weekend when I went in to buy butter and remembered I was randomly in need of cheese cloth.... So just in case, I asked, and sure enough they were like "Yep it's right over here!" They also sometimes have the best prices on avocados in the area. Beware the many many flavors of Jeni's ice cream... mockingly situated within view of the checkout counter.

I've been looking for a grocery store that can provide me with organic, gluten-free options. Fresh Stop Produce and Market is the perfect location for me! They have a wide selection of foods, beers, and they're conveniently located near my house. I love shopping there!

The people that work here, are awesome. Super helpful and pleasant. I chose to shop here over any other chain grocery store in the neighborhood. They have a wide selection of food (even home-made) and drinks. And a fabulous selection of ice cream. The cashier Lawrence Is also delightful to chat with on my daily stop before getting on the L. Just a great place all around.

This little grocery store has a HUGE selection. From good fresh veggies, the meat counter in the back, and the breadth of alcohol assortment-there really is no need for me to go to Jewel anymore. My dudes at the counter are always nice too, I even got a hook up a couple times for being a consistent customer. If you have a hot sauce you love, a fun kind of ice cream, or infused olive oils you're looking for-they have you covered. Go support this local biz!

Being near a busy train/bus station that I use every day, Fresh Stop is the perfect place for me to pop by on the way to or from work. The young men who work there are genuinely a delight; they’re consistently very kind and helpful. It’s a small space, but the store manages to squeeze in a huge variety of grocery and snack items. Their produce is always in great shape - usually you can find some that is a little under-ripe, great to buy ahead if you want to get fruit or veggies for the upcoming week. Fresh Stop also has a decent wine/beer selection for comparable prices to other places in the area.

Love this market! Let me tell you why:

1. The staff are always so lovely and helpful.
2. They have TONS of items that you think they wouldn’t (i.e. like more specialty foods/ethnic ingredients/drinks).
3. Their prices are super reasonable.
4. Convenient, convenient, convenient.
5. Have nothing but great things to say about Fresh Stop!

I also love that they are a small biz and locally owned. I try to make every effort to shop there over target or whole foods which are down the street and usually I don’t even have to go because they have everything you could need!

I was greeted the moment I entered the store. I was asked if I needed helped quickly and politely. The sandwich I ordered was perfect, and exactly what I wanted. The salad had a whole cucumber, fresh greens, carrots, onions and was only 4.99! I felt a concern they were not making money on it! The sandwich was large and only 6.99! This type of value to quality ratio is rare around here. Things can be quality but quite expensive. The folks who helped me were younger, and delightfully polite and kind. I will be in several times a week. I noticed a lot of meatless options and healthy foods here.

EDIT: I stopped by again today with my wife and everything was how I described it to her. We purchased chips and as we were leaving were given some free pico to go with them. The pico is amazing and I’ll be buying that as well whenever I’m in.

You are doing local business right! Keep it up and we’ll never stop shopping there!

I have gone quite a few times for groceries and everyone is great and love their selection. Most recently they added burgers and subs. I got a cheeseburger and onion rings and it was so good... I am already craving another. Great spott. Go and grab a burger!

Fantastic selection and the prices are awesome! So glad the are part of the neighborhood. Even a decent Vegan selection!!

This place is a hidden gem of Lakeview! The demon burger was the right amount of spicy and savory, and the gyros sandwich was amazing - spiced just right, not too salty, and with nice, think tzatziki to accompany it. The store has great wine, beer, meat, and cheese selections, at well as canned and dried goods. Now that I know it's here, I'll be back for dinner!

From my point this is one of the best gems in lakeview. Not hidden at all, just a Gem. Just stopped in for my first visit and got two Italian subs based on recommendations with a side of mac salad. All I'll say is SAY LESSSSS!! The sandwich was perfect and the D'amato's bread was the perfect touch. Great crunch, meat was fresh and delicious, and condiments were perfectly balanced. I think it was the manager who helped me out and copped my mac salad due to a price ticket error, which I offered to pay for but he said it was on the house.

Had a great conversation too and the selection in the bodega and grocery looked fresh, clean, and well kept. When Clark's closed me and my girlfriend wondered what would take its spot and I'm glad it's this place. The manager said we'll see you soon, and said that the subs are excellent and would have me craving more. He was 100 percent correct. Best believe I'll be back!!

It's perfect...like one of those neighborhood joints where you can go in and they'll remember you and know your name. Just awesome and I wish them many successful years of business! 🥪🥪👍👍

Fresh Stop is so nice. They are always helpful, they have a great selection of snacks, and we tried their burger and fries which really hit the spot. The fries are crinkle cut and the burger is a craving buster for sure. We were stuffed.

It's a little pricier than Mariano's, and you're not going to do your weekly shopping here, but for a small neighborhood shop, it's great. Employees are very nice, relatively small selection of each thing but it's the good, quality versions of things. Good little deli with Boar's Head. Good beer selection. Very good all around.

We love Fresh Stop! They were a very much needed addition to the neighborhood. It's a wonderful corner grocery with all the basics, but also a great selection of fancy, organic, gluten free, paleo, etc. etc. The staff is wonderful - very friendly and attentive!

I am so happy to have this little grocery in the neighborhood. Despite the small footprint, they have a huge selection of products. Amazingly, the prices are very competitive and often less than Target down the street.
Edit: I should add that beyond the butcher, they have a wide variety of meat alternatives. I like my beef but I'm trying to cut down so I appreciate the variety.
