What a wonderful bookshop and the store owner was a pleasure to converse with. You can hear his passion for books in his voice.

Anyway, we had planned a weekend trip to Carlsbad and searched for used bookstores in the area and Farenheit came up. So glad we stopped in and were able to walk out with a few books.

Many vintage finds for all you collectors. Look closely and carefully as there are so many nooks and crannies in the shop where hidden gems can be found. You can find art books to cookbooks to history books.

And I loved the music played during our shopping experience, French jazz, which set the mood for our lunch in a local French cafe.

Such a cool place! Bookstore with a decent selection of recent releases, but the huge collection of the used books and vintage art is where it’s at! They have a ton of discounted books in every category. A fun place to browse around for a long time. The person behind the counter was also really nice and chatted with us for a while. My only wish is that I had the ability to spend on a beautiful piece of vintage art! There are some real gems there.

If you need a book, don't go to one of those "free book bird-houses" outside someone's home; they always have the books you never realized you didn't want, like "How To Re-install Your Printer," or anything by Stephen King. That's why Fahrenheit 451 Books is your go-to place for books in Carlsbad. There's a healthy selection of used books, in good quality, at good prices, and some signed/rare/collectible books as well. Owner is super nice, and the store smells good - thank you incense! I can't stop going here.

Excellent bookstore, kind and helpful staff, nice variety of genres, fair pricing for both everyday reading and collectables.

Fortunately, this book store in our Village of Carlsbad is still thriving 12 years after relocating from Inland SD. The owner is a lifelong bibliophile offering an eclectic revolving selection of modern, classics and everything in between.

Including a great selection of first prints and rare editions. All in the Heart of The Village within a few blocks of the Pacific Ocean, food, train tracks & drinks. What else could you ask for?...EnJoy!

Is a great eclectic book store...something for everyone. Discovered it by accident walking around Carlsbad. Enjoyed talking to the owner. I look forward to going back.

This is a perfect used book store for me. Lots of variety. And the stock is constantly changing. So you have to keep going back! The owner is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful.

Love the name of this bookstore, after the Ray Bradbury novel. The store has a great selection of books, and when I moved to Carlsbad 4 years ago, I wanted to find a book about the history of Carlsbad, Ca. They had one, which was a little more that I had expected to pay, but it was worth the price, because I had learned so much about town from that book.

I've seen that the owner is trying to sell this bookstore, and I hope new owners are as good as the present one. Thanks for providing such a deservedly well loved store.

The layout of the book store is clean and peaks your curiosity before you enter doors. The gentleman assisting with our purchase was friendly and the music promoted a calm atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back for more books.

Good selection of used books. Some rare finds mixed in with books from every genre. Owner is a nice guy with good intel on inventory and can help you find what you’re looking for. A good place to stop for inspiration along the main village drive.

One of my favorite places in the Village. The entire store smells like old books because it is filled to the brim with them. Has low prices for used books that are still in good condition and has a nice atmosphere. Those that work there always seem eager to help if you have questions

I love love love this bookstore. The subdued and kind owner barely got thru covid 19 customer loss. But here he is. Buy ORIGINAL, SIGNED BOOKS or rare and lovely books in an era where book beauty is rare. Ask for the category or general interest and he will walk you thru it. Mask up as he is not a young whipper snapper and is avoiding a trip to the hospital. Ask questions. He has answers or will look up wha you are asking. Roam around and enjoy.

Such a great experience with a vast variety of books. The owner is a very pleasant person. This is a must stop at bookstore! One of my favorites.

I love browsing old bookstores. This place has every genre, even some with classic bindings. These bookstores need to be preserved, especially with libraries being closed. Great location across from Carlsbad Village Faire.

Have visited 451 several times in the past few years and loved the experience. Amoung other books purchased there was a mint condition set of the Person Memoirs by Ulysses S Grant. Going to Carlsbad soon and will definitely be shopping there again!

I love this bookstore and found the owner to be very cool and interesting. These kinds of stores are a dying breed and I wish this one great success. Lots of good books and organized well.

Great customer assistance and wonderful selection of used books and new books by local authors. Also, cool section of contemporary and classic music CD's.
