Tom's Toys

Absolutely love this toy store. I find it difficult to shop for toys that my nephew might like online and this shop has made it spectacularly easy. They have a huge selection of toys for different ages and multiple floors worth of stuff too. They also have books for kids which is a nice addition. The staff was friendly and answered all the questions I had.

A great store for kids!! Besides the fact that they carry Lego, jigsaws and all brand /range of board games and toys from toddlers to older kids; the most fascinating part is the Usborne book collection! We were just amazed to see so many different books by the author and surely our kids were too. A must visit for those looking to get some good stuff for kids.

Well I was here to take some gifts for my nephew, and ended up getting action figures for myself!!

A huge selection of toys for all ages (ya, I'm brave enough to say all ages)! I liked the way they've organised the space.

Children can enjoy a gum ball on their way home, one can easily get lost in the vast variety of toys! I got good gift for my nephew and he really liked it!

San Luis Obispo has a fabulous downtown with dozens and dozens of quaint and established stores. Tom's Toys blew our minds! We haven't seen this much inventory in a toy store in a long, long time. Distributed over two floors and so many aisles that a little kid will feel like they're in a maze, you are bound to find exactly what you are looking for. We certainly did!

Big toy store that has a really neat variety of new and classic toys. Massive collection of techdex, Funkos, board games, and toys for all ages. Tons to look through with an upstairs and a downstairs. I could spent a lot of money there! Beautiful store, clean and bright. Friendly staff. Worth a visit!

Been shopping here for many years. I've always supported this local business even when I moved away. I always come back when I'm on town. Huge selection of toys. I love their Lego displays.

We went to get a birthday present for a one year old. Asked where to look in the store, and helpful assistant took us to the toddler section. We found a good selection and know the birthday boy will be happy.

Amazing store especially if looking for Lego. Best Lego section ever better then my local Lego store by far. Most of every set is not marked up and if it is by 1 to 2 dollars. Workers are amazing and know a lot about every toy you could dream of.

Tom's Toys is one of a kind!!! Their inventory is so amazing, and they carry things no chain store does. Sadly, online retail is pushing out amazing stores like these...we can't let this happen. I encourage folks to browse and buy here, so many toys that are a blast from the past. You will want to pick up the boxes and really read the descriptions and instructions!

Amazing customer service. We bought a transformer and the very next day it snapped while my 5 yo old was transforming it. We had already thrown away the box and receipt but I called the store and explained that my 5 yo wasn't playing rough or doing anything crazy, but the toy broke while being transformed. The owner (I think) allowed me to bring it in so he could see the damage and he exchanged it for me! His commitment to merchandise quality as well as the personal interaction is exactly why small businesses like this are wonderful.

I have been shopping at this store for about 8 years now, and have received excellent service every time. The employees have always been helpful and courteous. Often, I do not have a clue on what to get for a gift, and they seem to take it on like a personal challenge to listen & recommend a perfectly suited and age-appropriate toy. My children are 8, 6 and 2yrs old- I have been in there plenty of times with a stroller, and often have needed their assistance with the elevator. Again, never a problem (you can't blame employees for an old elevator system). The staff, especially Alex, are great and one of the main reasons why I will continue to shop at this store. With 3 kids, its easier for me to shop on-line, but I'd rather shop locally at Tom's toys. One last note, those times that I'm in a big HUGE hurry, its always nice to know I can call ahead for a certain toy, get it gift wrapped (for free), and just run over to pick it up; now that is what I call excellent customer service!

I think it's rad that our town has a "real" toy store. Although I appreciate the stores that are more "educational toy" oriented, Tom's has the goods that will make your kids drool. I also like the fact that you can browse and put your eyes/hands on what you're shopping for versus online shopping. And you're supporting a local business! Always a favorite stop for my family.

We love supporting small, local businesses. And this one is easy to do so, as the employees are friendly and knowledgeable, the store is clean, and the prices are fair. There is a huge selection of LEGO, puzzles, games, and just tons of toys. Look for the random coupon in the New Times newspaper.

Great toy store, sells Lego sets you can't get at Walmart. Prices are reasonable. Wonderful staff, friendly and knowledgable on their toys. Two stories.There is an elevator to take you upstairs!!!

If you wanna be a kid again, this is the place to go and visit. Great toys to choose from, board games, funko pops. They even have lava lamps. So if looking to buy a toy, or even for yourself. This is the place to come and check out.

Big, wonderful, old fashioned toy store. Huge selection of all kinds of toys. Prices for the items we purchased were less than online so that makes it even more fun and worth another trip back.

Wonderful local toy store like when you were a kid. It seems they stock toys from Europe as well as Canada and even things no longer sold. The selection is fantastic.
