Place is cool, found 9 edm records. Mostly house music and 1 dnb record all for under 20 bucks.

I love how this store covers all the bases. I found some buried vinyl treasures on the second floor and also bought a cassette deck. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It’s a must stop when visiting SLO.

If you are a collector of music you need to visit this store. Plan lots of time to wander and remember times past. If you are a gamer stop here first

When shopping for Zen Mountain Poets new CD "Stellar Ignition" and film "Sound of Music", Jody was with a tall large man who turned out to be "The Incredible Hulk" himself, Lou Ferrigno. I asked Lou what is his favorite movie? He said, "I Love You, MAN". Lou autographed my Cheap Thrills receipt. I returned from another errand to buy ILY MAN. I was stunned to personally meet Lou Ferrigno! Jody told me that Lou comes in often. He lives in SLO Town.

If you like movies, music, comics, t-shirts, collectables, posters, video games, board games and vintage stereo equipment (or any combination thereof), and you HAVEN'T been to Cheap Thrills, you're missing out. Music shelving, lighting, incense and vinyl supplies (bags and sleeves for LPs + 45s) and friendly staff too! Check em out!!

I have been coming to Cheap Thrills (at three different locations in San Luis Obispo)since 1975. They have always and continue to be a wonderful source of new and used music--from vinyl and cassettes to CDs. Knowledgeable and helpful staff. Lots of electronics (receivers, speakers, etc.), books, and hard to find items too.

These folks have been doin' what they do since 1971, so 52 years, they're not just a used record store, they're a central coast INSTITUTION!
I have been a loyal customer since the late 70's with literally thousands of LP's and Cd's having been purchased from these folks. Needless to say, I love this place. Anything and everything you could possibly want, they have. They sell used, and refurbished audio gear and speakers, so if your looking for a stereo system in the cheap (no pun intended) go check out all the gear they have for sale...at great prices too. The guys that work there are super cool. Go see Brent or Jody...super chill dudes and always friendly, helpful. Cheap Thrill is awesome and you should go there and buy stuff, you'll be glad you did.

Huge selection, great prices for good condition vinyl. People were very helpful. Will come again when back in the area.

Yesterday was my first time visiting this gem with dad. We were looking for a music store that stayed open until 7 p.m. because we arrived in SLO at 5 and that's when music stores typically close. Cheap Thrills has a large collection of music in forms of CDs, vinyls and cassette tapes. They even have video games, movies, comic books, T-shirts, coloring books, audio systems and cool accessories. I am a metalhead, and I was thrilled with the metal band shirts on the wall and the collection of metal CDs in the back of the store. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and organized, so it's easy to find what you want. Prices are reasonable, but new CDs cost more than pre-owned. It is a small place, but the inventory will impress music lovers, comic book nerds and people who want to buy movies and box sets. I will definitely come back whenever I'm in the SLO area. This place rocks!

This place rates the quality of used records on the price tag and has a good selection. My boyfriend goes here everytime we go to the coast. They have comics too and every cord you could possibly need.

One of the oldest and most unique Indian stores on the West Coast. The store had over 50,000 turntable grated records upstairs and its record Loft, they had a huge selection of CDs as well as probably the most complete selection of old school video games anywhere. Do you need hours of time to even have a chance to to see just part of what's in this store
They also have a huge selection of DVD and Blu-ray movies over 25,000 titles,
They are also part of a sister store, Captain Nemo games & Comics which has an incredible selection of graphic novels, comic books, family and board games, D&D miniatures, magic and all the non Electronic Entertainment you could ever want to find.
It is not possible to see everything in Captain Nemo and Cheap Thrills in one visit!
Prices seemed internet competitive and selection was awesome. I certainly highly recommend the store!

I love cheap thrills my dad brought me there a lot when I was a kid Jodi long hair who works there is great and really cool. That's what makes that place awesome. Someone at GameStop said that their competition but no one can keep up with cheap thrills.

Great place for used vinyl and cds, in various genres. I enjoy just browsing, but I find something good everytime I visit. Also used video games in various formats, and DVDs. There is a comic book room, and the adjacent Captain Nemo's is good for board games and D and D stuff.

Very interesting shop with a large selection of CDs, records, video games, and movies for sale. Crowded with varieties, there is something for everyone here.

I came in looking for an RCA to AUX adapter that I hadn’t been able to find any of the three previous stores in SLO that I went to. Not only did Cheap Thrills have what I was looking for at an awesome low price, but the woman who helped me was very friendly too!

Good selection of music. I found a couple of rare CDs today that I would otherwise had to search the internet for. I also think it's good to support the local economy. I had a great experience today.

Every bit entertaining for gamers, movie buffs, comic lovers and music fans. New and used items to a separate room that has a daily gameroom; from board to cards, you will enjoy coming in and meeting new people. If your from the Berkeley area it reminds you of Ameoba records on steroids, well played!

This place has it all! I'm amazed at their selection. CDs, movies, games, a kids section, and so much more. You have to check Cheap Thrills Records out, also check out their other store the Sub as well, its also pretty awesome! The staff is friendly and very helpful.
