I love stopping in to Folly any time I'm looking for something special or I just want to add a little something to my wardrobe. The clothes are all high quality, and I love that the styles are different from what I see in fast fashion stores. These are tried and true styles, made in fun and luxurious fabrics. It's such a joy to shop in the store because Sarah loves to offer suggestions and accessories, which I really appreciate because I can feel so lost in a store sometimes.
Added bonus, most of the clothing is made in store, and with "dead stock" fabric, meaning it's hyper local for PDX folks and helps prevent more fashion industry waste. Woot!

Delightful dress boutique full of locally, hand made garments - most items are designed by Folly's owner, Sarah Bibb.
If asked to describe the vibe - I'd call it retro through a modern lens. The cuts are thoughtful, taking into consideration what is flattering on most women. The dresses gracefully ride the line of practical & whimsical - the prints are fun - you won't see them everywhere, & the shapes are versatile, lending themselves to many interpretations and layering.
Definitely worth a stop - Folly is located in a neighborhood as charming as itself!

My mom and I stopped in to check out their new space on Fremont, and headed out an hour later with a beautiful new dress and a great experience with Sarah, the owner, and the other store staff! We loved the variety of colors, patterns, and silhouettes. Can’t wait to wear my new dress on my travels!

I found Folly while I was in Portland for a week, shopping for dresses that fit (and hopefully flattered) my 2-kid, 5-foot, 36-year old body. That is to say, I was looking for a wearable, comfortable, flattering and sophisticated look. SARAH TOTALLY DELIVERED. I was there on a weekday morning, and had Sarah's undivided attention for 10 minutes. In that time, she tried to talk me out of a dress I wanted to try (she was right, I needed to be taller to fit that dress), she offered me options, gently nudged me to try her recommendations, and was so easy to talk to that I was annoyed when another customer walked in - HA. Sarah was patient and casual about the whole experience. I tried, I retried, I tried with slips, without slips, with heels, barefoot. Her recommendations and accessories were spot on, and I was so glad she didn't have that pushy vibe that usually just pushes me out of the door. She knows her designs, she is a natural conversationalist and the clothes are unique and beautiful. She knew exactly what would compliment my body and how to dress it up and down. I love patterns, colors, and unique looking pieces. There were also other options that she was right to show me, that were more neutral colors, and also very versatile, but I went home with two gorgeous dresses (one dressier, one more casual), an obi belt, leggings, and one of her sexy but classy slips. Folly was my favorite of the stores I hit in Portland (I hit the Hawthorne, Alberta, Mississippi, and Pearl neighborhoods/districts). Just go.

Folly is such a fun and unique store with the sweetest vivacious owner. Sarah is kind and impeccably stylish and it shows in all the really great stuff she sells in her shop and especially in her own designs. She has a little something for most anyone! Plus as someone who used to live down the street her window displays are always so cheery and inviting and worth a peek in and of themselves! All around highly recommend stopping in to shop, checking out the website or following along on Instagram, whatever is your jam!

Sarah was so sweet when I met her at Folly. I stumbled upon Folly when I was wandering around Portland visiting from Baltimore. I really liked the uniqueness of her clothing and fell in love with the Laurel dress in this beautiful green floral pattern. I wore the dress to my rehearsal and welcome dinner. I received so many compliments on the dress! I wish her store was closer because I would definitely be stopping in frequently to purchase!

Shopping is one of my least favorite things to do, but I actually love going to Folly. Before venturing in for the first time, I called to ensure they carried my size. Sometimes smaller boutiques only cater to single digit sizes but Folly does at least have standard sizes to XL/16. Sarah, the owner and designer of most of their items, assured me we could find some options and she would love to help me. I've since purchased several of their signature Jaime dresses, and a few other tops and accessories. I've gotten lots of compliments when wearing my Folly items, and more importantly I feel confident when wearing them.

They have a rewards program which is nice, and when I had an issue with a dress they went above and beyond to ensure it was fixed. The return period is short, so be sure to keep that in mind.

Overall, this is a great independent Portland shop, featuring unique locally-made items. Thanks Folly!

Sarah is the best. I love coming to Folly, it feels like visiting a bff's closet, except I get to keep instead of borrow. Her styles are current and unique. She has everything you need, from foundation to accessories and everything in between. I can't wait for my next visit!

Sarah is the creator and owner of this tiny jewell in the Pearl. If you want to get some cool clothes that are practical, whimsical, beautiful, and make you feel special, this is a great boutique. Her clothes have the rare qualities of being both unique as well as comfortable and practical, without being weird. A pleasure to shop here!
