Nazrawi Ethiopian Restaurant

I found this restaurant after doing a Google search because I wanted authentic Ethiopian cuisine. The 5 star reviews were the truth! From the time I walked in for late lunch, the host and I believe manager, welcomed me to their restaurant. I had an appetizer and a main dish (vegetarian), all of which was absolutely delicious. Delicious food, good music playing in the background and prices are comparable. The whole restaurant only had one waitress plus the bartender. She was very friendly but had to wait a while for our drinks and refills.

Having enjoyed the local Ethiopian dining scene since I was a kid visiting old AdMo places, I was amazed to discover Nazrawi. This place is amazing. My clear new favorite that I think stands out above all the other great places in SS. The spicing all around and the quality of their meat is stellar. Very welcoming and not overly loud or clubby.

Nazrawi was a delightful experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.

The highlight, of course, was the food. The Kitfo and fish Gulash was a standout, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavors. The portion sizes were generous and the presentation was visually appealing. Ending it with authentic Ethiopian coffee made in the middle of the restaurant.

Overall, Nazrawi offers a fantastic dining experience with its combination of delicious food, excellent service, and cozy atmosphere. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable meal.

Comparing this to Addis on Fenton st, this place wins all bets hands down!! Much better quality of food and freshness of ingredients. Excellent service by the owner herself. Vibe & decor is homey and we enjoyed people watching at our window table, which, unfortunately had a wobbly leg. Oh well. Authentic entrees as well as the music playing softly.

Highly recommend any of the beef tibs followed by the “ceremonial” coffee, which includes incense brought to your table, so you may want to decline that part if you have asthma or the like.

Bottom line: Food so amazing I could probably eat there weekly, especially since we live in walking distance to it!

Amazing Ethiopian restaurant in the DMV. Beautiful restaurant and fun atmosphere. The food is top notch. We came on a busy night and service was a bit slow near the end of our visit but it was worth it overall. Staff was kind in explaining any dishes I didn't know and very friendly. The menu offered so much compared to the simple dishes we got this time!

As an Ethiopian, it felt like a little slice of home. By far best habesha food i’ve had in the states. It was amazing.

Also, the staff were super friendly and happy to help us navigate the menu. Plus, the place had that cozy vibe with cool decor and some great tunes in the background. Easily my new go-to spot

The food was absolutely amazing. It was my first time ever having Ethiopian food and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was phenomenal, the food was amazing! I’ve never been somewhere you eat with your hands and I loved it. It was a GREAT first experience and I can wait to go back and bring my friend

Awesome spot! Recently celebrated my nephew's bday here and they made sure we had a great time. The service was especially great, as our server was one of the sweetest ladies ever! Even played a birthday song for him!

Fast Ethiopian food that is really good. I've been here one time before the menu changed and waited staff were added. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The only minor problem was that the food was not hot it was warm and still very flavorful.

I love Ethiopian food and Nazrawi definitely serves very good Ethiopian food. My family and I ordered Nazrawi special kitfo, Banatu and Lamb Derek tibs, and we all thought it's was very tasty and the meat tender. We will definitely be coming back for more. Nazrawi is a welcome addition to the many Ethiopian restaurants in the area.

The food here was beyond amazing, we have tried many Ethiopian restaurants in Silver Spring and DC but we think this was the best food. Below a picture of Banatu (platter with ribs firfir, kifto, and delicious green collards, lentils, cabbage/sweet onions).

Authentic Ethiopian dishes with coffee ceremony! You feel at a typical traditional Ethiopian home: the music, coffee ceremony, traditional food, and the social setting with a feel of friendliness and belongingness during your stay! Ask for "Degfie" if you pop in there; my most favorite item in Menu!

Great Ethiopian food. Super attentive and helpful service. Not a fancy decor, but the vibe is right.
