Love the trails around this park and the grounds itself! Lots of neat buildings and the museum is fun! We live nearby so we like to stop in every now and then just to explore different trails.

Always great to stop here on the way up to Paradise. The country store has a lot of parking & great souvenirs. There are bathrooms & not port a potty’s! There are some trails you can take as well. Be prepared this maybe as far as you can get depending on the weather.

Rangers are incredibly helpful and respectful. Bathroom facilities are clean and flush which is very appreciated after a backpacking for a week. Parking is plentiful and sometimes you'll be lucky and see some wildlife nearby such as deer. Love this ranger station. Its even got a cute museum and Cafe nearby.

Had a blast for only getting 6 miles in. Going every weekend till I reach the top lol. Had lots of fun with the family. Tons of hikers and not 1 rude person.
So it was a perfect get away and we looked like tourist lol.
We had no clue for first timers.

Felt much less touristy and much more camping and nature-oriented. A welcome break after the masses at Mt. Rainier. Great place for nature walks.

This couples with a museum which was covid closed. But they had a cool slice of a huge western red cedar outside that dated back to 1293. That's not a typo. 1293! Crazy!
