Shift Coffee House

Shift Coffee House offers a solid grilled cheese sandwich — crispy on the outside with a generous amount of melted cheese on the inside. Their latte was well-crafted too, strong and smooth, great for a caffeine fix. The atmosphere is laid-back, making it a good spot for some focused work or a relaxed coffee break. A comfortable spot that gets the job done without too much fuss. The service here is also awesome and super friendly. Worth checking out if you’re in the area and need a bite or a sip while you tackle the to-do list!

I read a sign outside saying “best grilled cheese in Sacramento” and they are NOT wrong. I have brought so many friends and family here just because I love their food so much!! The smokin pig was my favorite cause of the apple slices but I don’t think they have it in the menu anymore so now I go for the kitchen sink or hot as hell. You can also customize by switching the bread or adding jams. They are so sweet and helpful! I love trying their seasonal drinks, most of the time it’s too sweet for my liking ( I don’t like sweet) but still very fun to try. My favorite drink was actually the golden girl white tea with rose petals. If you’re hungry, you have to try the home made tomato soup with your grilled cheese!! So so good 🤤 lastly, it’s such a cute spot in a beautiful area. They have games you can play or just relax and enjoy the vibe. (Waiting and praying on the day the finally open their beautiful outdoor garden area)

First time visiting this coffee place and wow, from the detail and presentation of the drinks to the atmosphere. I’m a big fan of cars and they had a car based atmosphere that I loved. We ordered a cappuccino and an iced mocha, very high quality service and attention to detail. I’m happy to come back and try out the famous grilled cheese when I come back !! Highly recommend

Opened maps and found this place accidentally. It’s a sandwich + drink place. I wasn’t hungry so I ordered a very nice st Valentine’s latte. Atmosphere is quiet. I would say it’s a cowboy style here. Around 7$ for coffee

Wow I'm amazed how peaceful, and enlightening this restaurant establishment is, and the way they set up the interior with a car theme. The coffee is tasteful, with good aromas. The employees are enlightening, and peaceful, and guarantee to put a smile on your face.
I would encourage anyone to stop by here either to relax after a long day, or just to get away from the same old same routine.

I found Shift while scrolling through TikTok, and OMG, I am glad I did! I told my wife we should try this before our morning walk and it did not disappoint. As a matter of fact, Shift Coffee was amazing! 🤩 The coffee special “mellow pumpkin pie latte” was perfect in every way. Not too sweet, full of flavor, and sooo delicious 😋. We were going to share a grilled cheese and ended up choosing two and sharing. We could not stop praising the deliciousness of both breakfast grilled cheese sandwiches (Del Paso Del Sol & French Connection), the atmosphere was perfect. I definitely recommend Shift Coffee! We will be back to share the experience with more friends and family.

Really neat place! Tables are premium wood with metal! The breakfast sandwiches & coffee here are unmatched to all of the other places I’ve been to! I had the O.D.Bee & the Firehouse 20 sandwich. The coffee, which came with honey and Lavender was some of the smoothest, unique, and great tasting coffee I’ve ever tried, and he uses butter milk in the coffee, just perfection!👌🏻😍 The Firehouse sandwich, when he started grilling, the great smell of butter filled the restaurant and I instantly became extremely hungry. I’m just glad that I was ordering the sandwich , otherwise I wouldn’t have made it by lunch.🤪 The sandwich was also bomb, I would definitely recommend everyone check this place out!👌🏻☺ The historic display of car stuff alone is worth coming here and meet the owner, Mike.
This place he opened back in 2018 and I’m glad that he’s still running it and that I could have experienced great customer service with some great food, and a smooth coffee.
I was joking with Mike about the turbo on the top shelf on display. I was trying to grab that one to go😆😅 Too bad, he said that it wouldn’t fit into a to go bag. So next time I visit, I’m bringing my own bag😉😂

My absolute favorite coffee spot in the area! Drinks and sandwiches are both amazing! The staff are very helpful and definitely care about the drinks/food they make. It's a great spot to relax or get some work done - it has a neat car theme as well.

I absolutely love this coffee house, the smell of the grilled cheese makes it irresistible. Dell paso isn't the best location but this is I will say one of the best coffee places I've been to thus far. I am a coffee connoisseur, and this coffee shop is ran by coffee connoisseurs lol oh I love this place. I absolutely love this place now if you look on my Google reviews, I'll go to Many coffee places this one is hands-down the best. I'll be back I told them I'm now a new regular to the establishment.

We found this coffee shop when we moved to the area. I highly recommend it, the breakfast sandwiches bring me back to life and the coffee is delicious. The inside is inspired by race cars which just makes this place unique and cool. We like to bring friends and family here to enjoy coffee and their amazing sandwiches!

Really amazing, delicious sandwiches and drinks! I will be going back again to try more! It wasn't busy and was a nice relaxing, cozy experience. The grilled cheese sandwiches are so great. I definitely recommend the breakfast brisket sandwich. Had so much flavor and makes me want to go back for more! The drinks were so refreshing and flavorful as well.

In a nutshell; Pretty good place to stop by and enjoy some grilled cheeze sandwiches and coffee.

Seems to be tucked at a rather hidden area which was quite a surprise when my sister told me about it. They have quite a vast choice for grilled cheeze all of which sound rather scrumptious. Our order didnt take too long to come out which was a plus. Got the kitchen sink grilled cheeze order which was great. Though I must admit, the bread was a bit more on the burnt side than the toasty side for my liking, the sandwich was still well made blending a great mix of savory and sweetness so every bite was a welcome treat. The drink was great as well. They had a matcha lavender type of drink special which tasted great and the flavor was well concocted. Ambience of the place was that of vintage stuff even sporting a really old Mac computers tucked in one of the corners. Parking may prove rather difficult if it ever gets busy in the area which is a warning to future dwellers. Overall place was great. Would go again.

This place is amazing. I had the kitchen sink and my partner had the brisket on sourdough (can't remember the name.) The kitchen sink comes with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on top, and when they grilled it, it caramelized to a slight crunch on top that was perfect. Extra points for the small and perfectly done cheese skirt that had pieces of bacon in it that had slid out of the sandwich.

For folks like us who aren't eating out indoors, they have limited and very spread out patio dining, but we didn't have a problem getting a spot even though we went at 10:30 on a Saturday. Also, their music was mainly '70s-'80s rock. Fun!!

We're definitely coming back here - I can't believe I'd missed this place until now!

If you are inpatient or in a hurry, this place is not for you. It's not starbucks. They take their time in their craft. If you order a sandwich, be prepared to wait.

The bread of the grilled cheese sandwiches are nice and buttery yet crispy. If you don't greasy cheesy goodness, it's not for you.

I got an iced Tokyo Tea and it was great and refreshing. Has a hint of lavender that didn't overpower the jasmine green tea. It blended and complimented it nicely.

I got the bay area brisket and my wife got the hot as hell sandwich (it's not actually spicy in our opinion). Both were delicious. The tomato soup was delicious and went well with the sandwich.

This place has the most amazing grilled cheese sandwiches! The sparkling americano is amazing and I visit every time I'm in town. Cute and cozy space with cool artwork and a friendly staff. The food takes a minute but be patient and enjoy!

Super cool retro/ industrial décor makes it unique and picturesque.
The outdoor seating is relaxing and private.
The menu was massive and detailed- making it easy to find something for everyone. Coffee, tea, lemonades, breakfast sandwiches, sweet and savory options - it's like a one-stop-shop for comfort food!
The staff was super sweet and friendly. Like, "good old fashion - coffee shop - remember your name" kind of friendly.

Some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches in Sac, so good! They have a pretty big menu of coffee options and grilled cheese options. Also got their lavender latte which is really good

Wow! I really enjoyed it here. A little hidden gem located in the Arden/Del Paso area. They are not lying about their grilled cheese. It’s the bomb! So scrumdiddlyumpsious! I had their “Green Goddess” iced tea and “Your Cheesy Honey” grilled sandwich.

Great coffee, great service. Cold brew made in house. Dez & Drew were both amazing people. Very grateful to have stumbled in to the shop. Thank you.
