Ruben's Mexican Grill

Went here last night to meet up with some friends. Ordered what fit within my health restrictions and it was very delicious!!! I ordered the pineapple tequila drink and emphasized the pineapple ---they made it perfectly!!! The carne asada y enchiladas were wonderful!!! The staff all were nice, listened well, and did not pressure us to leave as they were closing. A true go-to in NW Indiana.
Oh and the soups were excellent!

First time trying this restaurant and we loved it!
My mom had chicken enchiladas and I had steak enchiladas, Big portions of food, Everything was delicious, chips were soft and all 3 salsas were really good, the server was nice, loved the atmosphere. We will definitely be coming back to this place

Chips and salsa - 4.5/5, the salsa is incredible. Chips are fairly standard, but definitely good.
Chicken fajitas - 5/5, excellent, well seasoned, good portion size, cooked perfectly, and on Tuesdays are half off!
Tacos alambre - 5/5, no notes, just fantastic.
Pricing is surprisingly cheap in today's market. I'm not generally a fan of refried beans, but these were good. We'll definitely be making this spot a staple.

As a busy northwest indiana real estate agent in the go, Rubens is our local go-to Mexican food restaurant. Food quality is high and consistent. Prices are fair and food portions are good. Our favorite is getting the nachos supreme - we get 3 orders for our family of 4 and there’s always a good amount of leftovers left. 😋

Ordered from Ruben’s to cater a party. The service was great, I always get nervous about catering but they called to confirm my order the day before. They also helped me bring all the food out to the car.
Everyone at our party raved about how amazing the food was, in particular the tamales! We ordered the chicken and steak tacos and fajitas and there was a ton of food leftover despite many people going back for seconds!
We will definitely be using them in the future to cater!

I absolutely love this restaurant!!! I have to eat gluten free, and they have gluten free options. Their nachos are amazing, in addition to their tamales! I'm never disappointed when I eat here. They are very friendly, and the atmosphere is serene and welcoming.

Burrito bowl with steak is absolutely delicious. Enormous portion for a reasonable price and tasty to boot! I have only eaten here twice and it didn't disappoint either time, definitely worth stopping in or ordering pick up!

Found this gem while staying overnight in neighboring Schererville. Cozy location with delicious made to order food. The pineapple margarita was very good as well. Highly recommend.

We eat here almost every other day. The food is really good with fresh and quality ingredients. Atmosphere is casual and Ruben and Hilda (owners) are super nice. You will not be disappointed..give them a try..and you'll be as hooked as we are! :-)

Love this spot. Really enjoy having a little place close by we can run and grab something when we don't feel like cooking.

My wife grabbed carry out today for my birthday and brought it home. I love tacos, and have had them all across our great country, and a new place is always exciting but I'm open for disappointment and fine with it......but when something is this great I have to leave a review. Excellent hot sauce. Excellent queso, excellent chips, excellent everything. Looking forward to going in person

We went here specifically for margaritas! They were so good! Friendly staff! The salsa is amazing!

The carne asada is the best we have ever had.
We wish we knew how they season their meat because it's so tasty and unlike any other we have had.
Oh and don't forget the cinnamon doughnuts with chocolate and fresh strawberry dipping sauce and a nice cup of coffee to finish off the meal.
All their food is excellent and the service is excellent.
We highly recommend this place.

love the food and the owner is on site many times, very attentive and spoils us with fresh donuts right out of the fryer. My favorite entree is the chilaquiles with steak.
